The spirit and heart is what was crucified and is raised in righteousness, free from sin, Romans 6:5-7). Romans 8:9 says we are NOT in the flesh but in the Spirit if the Spirit of God dwells within us. And those who do not have the Spirit of Christ do not belong to Him.
