The Trinity made easy

I think that Trinity is quite easy to understand.

“One God” is revealed in the three distinct persons of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one” 1 John 5:7

The Son came to earth to reveal the true character of God the Father to a world groping in spiritual blindness. Jesus prayed to His Father in Gethsemane, “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world”. John 17:5

Jesus is the only one who could reveal the Father, because He is the express image of the Father.
"All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Luke 10:22

He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high Hebrews 1:3

Yes its as simple as that. :)

“… fewer and fewer Christians seem actually to embrace the belief known as Trinity. As one modern Catholic thinker has said, modern Christians tend to be functionally unitarian.”

(Roger E. Olson, The Mosaic of Christian Belief: Twenty Centuries of Unity & Diversity, p. 134)

“Why does the Trinity matter? This is a fair question, since the Trinity is not easy to understand.”

Trinitarian professors warn against trying to make that which isn’t, and never has been, easy to understand, easy to understand.

It is to be believed, not understood.

Old school.

There is no analogy since God is unique nothing can be compared
Yeah, you can look at an egg ..but each part isn't really whole in itself.

You can look at us ...body, mind and spirit.. but the communication between them is not like God. Plus we are flawed beings.

Light put thru a prism is many shades of 3 base colours. I kinda like that one..but of course the parts of the Trinity are always like that.. they don't divide once put thru something. And there is nothing personal about light as an entity.

Guess analogies can show that if nature can be triune, then God who created it can be also.

Here is my take on the subject.

First of all, the vocation of the Godhead during this six 1000 years days work week is to renew sinful men and the earth to it's pristine beginning by taking away sin and then having God resting from all his labor on the seventh 1000 year day. When this one thousand year day begins there will not be a single saved person on the earth except those who are saved in the first 31/2 years of the 7 year week after the translation of the church to heaven and when it is over there will not be a single unsaved person left to populate the new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness.

2 Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

Joh 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.

We are living at this time in the transition of days. We are at the end of 6000 years of human history and the beginning of the seventh day. The Jewish days are always evening (darkness) first. The evening and the morning are such and such day.

The day of the Lord is congruent with the last 3 1/2 years of Daniel's seventieth week. It is the great tribulation when all God's enemies will perish from the earth and those who get saved in the first 3 1/2 years and endure this great tribulation to the end will be saved, as in delivered, at the coming of Christ to the earth to rule and reign for his sabbath rest over a converted world with few left in it because of the intensity of the evil in the great tribulation.

It has been a while since I have thought about it but if my memory is correct, the day of the LORD is mentioned in 17 books of the Bible and by 12 different authors. It is always in the future from any time period of all the writers in the OT and the NT. It is the beginning of the day and it is "darkness and not light." It is a day of vengeance of Jehovah on his enemies and a day of purification and restoration of his people Israel. There is nothing pleasant for the nations in this time period. It is both a time of the wrath of the LAMB and the wrath of Satan and is a showdown between good and evil. Here is an example of the theme running through the prophets;

Isa 13:6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Am 5:18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
Zep 1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

The phase "day of the Lord" appears thirty times in 29 verses. The number 30 is the number God uses for maturity. John, in revelation says he was on the isle of Patmos "on the Lord's day." This is the thirtieth verse, indicating the maturity of this doctrine. And read this; Re 6:17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

This is in the context of the third division of Revelation, "things that shall be hereafter" the church is called into heaven in Re 4.

Now, what does all this have to do with the "trinity" doctrine of God? Much, because none of these things are true if there is no trinitarian God. Those who deny the Christian faith by denying the character of the triune God will not meet the fate described in these verses if indeed they are not true. The oneness doctrine is a false gospel.

Oh, and we are told the church are children of light. No need to worry about the darkness of that day because we are promised we will be saved, as in delivered, from it. We will come back with the rising of the SON.

1Th 5:1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 ¶ Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation (deliverance in our new bodies) by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Please pardon me if you think this post is off topic (it is at least close to being so) but I posted it to warn the anti trinitarians about what is coming. One day soon all the false gospels will be gone and truth and righteousness shall rule. The good thing; it is not too late to repent and get it right.

And we know that the Lord in both Testaments has been identified as the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. And we know They are not each other which is modalism. :)

hope this helps !!!

Yes not each-other but the difference is distinction rather than separation like three seperate beings.

Revelation has Jesus being given terms you give to the Father..and is Jesus' word to the churches... But is also the Holy Spirit's words to the churches..

So there it is not seperation but distinction

they are three gorgeous Beings

persons is such a vatican esau topic

they inserted it...
because it fits their platonic religion...

It depends on the context.

Just out of curiosity, how do you differentiate ‘the Angel of the Lord’ with other angels? To my understanding, these are synonymous terms. The contrast would be to what we call demons.
You mean like "a" demon and "the" demon? What is the purpose of the Definite Article?

I'm not a fan of the word 'persons'... But if I go to the word expression or substance, when Jesus talks to the Father..it's not just an 'expression talking to an expression ' ... Or 'substance talking to a substance' So I come back to the word 'person' anyway.

I like the idea of is looking at the one being.. triune God.. and we are 2d...and He is 3d. So our understanding can only go so far because He is on a different plane.
