1 John 2:9 The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now. 10 The one who loves his brother abides in the Light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
 
Perhaps you should, though. He exegetes Ephesians very well to make the case that "us" is the direct object of being chosen, and "in Christ" is the indirect object. God chose US to be in HIM.
Sorry the verse simply does not say that

It does state he chose us in him to be holy and blameless

The choice is to be holy and blameless

not to be in Christ

Nobody around here hates his brother. What we hate is heresies. If you're surrounded by parishioners who hate each other then you need to talk to them.

@The Rogue Tomato took the liberty of inserting "to be" before "in Him" (εν αυτω) which was astutely spotted by @TomL. Let's hear @The Rogue Tomato's explanation for that insertion of his.
God chose US to be in HIM.
