Things that accompany Christ

Were the Hebrews a elect people ?
All of Israel was God's elect but not all of Israel was saved. Let's hear your explanation... :p

(Isa 45:4) For Jacob My servant's sake, and Israel My elect, I have even entitled you. I have named you, though you have not known me.

We are made righteous by the obedience of Christ ! Rom 5:19

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

So to be made righteous accompanies Christ ! When He was here on earth He was actingin the capacity of a surety, a covenant Head, Sponsor Heb 7:22

By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

As by the Disobedience of one many were made Sinners: So by the Obedience of one shall many be made righteous. The Things spoken of are Opposites, and their Effects are direct Contraries John Brine

Deliverance from the penalty of sin

Thats correct, the ones Jesus died for, He obtained for them deliverance from the penalty of sin according to Heb 9:12

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

This is a legal transaction between the He and the Father, satifying the sin justice by His own blood. The word redemption here is the greek word λύτρωσις:

  1. a ransoming, redemption
  2. deliverance, esp. from the penalty of sin
Now the penalty of sin is death, even eternal death, to include spiritual death Rom 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Now since Christ own blood for the us He died for, delivered them from the penalty of death, they must be given eternal life. Is unjust for anyone of them to remain spiritually dead, since their penalty has been removed.

Jn 17:2

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

This is on the strength of His Redeeming Blood shed for them, He has obtained it for them ! So that accompanies Christ !

Must be made alive to God !

Since Christs death put away the wages of sin which is death for them He died for, and being dead to God by nature, its just that they should be made alive to God, which is eternal life Jn 17:2-3

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

This is the Gift of God through Jesus Christ verses the wages of sin Rom 6:23,11

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

That said, eternal life is restricted to be given only to as many as the Father has given to Jesus Christ in sovereign election Jn17:1-3

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

.You see that eternal life was not for all men,

for we are sure that some shall perish and shall spend eternity in the lake of fire; but, He gives eternal life unto as many as were given to Him by the Father. In the ninth verse He says, "I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine." Do you believe then that Christ would limit His prayers to those given to Him by the Father, and at the same time die for all men? Surely not. He 17 prayed for those for whom He died, and He died for those given Him by the Father. His purpose then was not to save the entire human race, for, if that had been His purpose He would have accomplished it. The Doctrines of Grace By L. Bradley.pdf

The Captain of our Salvation !

Those for whom Christ suffered and died, it constituted Him the Captain of their Salvation Heb 2:9-10

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings/death.

We are healed,

Those for whom Christ died have by His stripes been healed 1 Pet 2:24-25

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

So spiritual healing comes and our souls are renewed, and we begin to live unto righteousness, that is to live in light of Christ being our righteousness 1 Cor 1:30

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

2 Cor 5 21

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Sanctification,

Yes our sanctification accompanies Christ Death Heb 10:10

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

The word sanctified is in the perfect tense, and it means:

to purify by expiation, free from the guilt of sin

Thats an aspect of being saved !

We are brought to God !

Another blessing that accompanies Christ,

We will be brought to God, which is both spiritual and practical salvation 1 Pet 3:18

18 For Christ also hath once suffered[unto death] for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Being made alive to God, because we were dead to God,

Rom 6:11

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

They will experience being made spiritually alive from the dead, on the grounds and merit of Christs Eph 2:4-5

4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened[made alive] us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

A purified life zealous of Good Works,

If Christ died for us,it ensures to us a purified life zealous of good works, Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us[In Death], that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Now can Christs redemptive death fail to purify unto Himself a peculiar people ? No sir it cannot fail. The word purify here is the greek word katharizó:

To cleanse, purify
Meaning: I cleanse, make clean, literally, ceremonially, or spiritually, according to context.
Usage: The verb καθαρίζω (katharizó) primarily means to make clean or to purify. In the New Testament, it is used both in a physical sense, such as cleansing a leper, and in a spiritual or moral sense, such as purifying one's heart or conscience. The term often implies a transformation from a state of impurity to one of purity, aligning with the biblical theme of holiness and sanctification.https://biblehub.com/greek/2511.htm

Now do you believe Christs Death accomplished this without providing the necessary Spiritual blessings that will renew and give a new nature ? Can one be purified and remain dead in sin with the evil nature we have by nature ? Absolutely not. Thats why in accomplishing that purpose of purification Christ will cause regeneration by the Spirt and renewal Titus 3:5-6

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Now washing is always associated with purifying. David prayed Ps 51:2
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
The word cleanse ṭāhēr:

  1. to purify, be clean morally, made clean
Scrub me clean from my guilt.
Purify me from my sin.EHV

Forgiveness of sins is given !

Rom 8:32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

The Death of Christ for His people comes with benefits, one is the forgiveness of sins,

Yes, with Christ being delivered up for us [the elect] with Him we have freely given on His dime, forgiveness of sins. The words "freely give "in the greek is χαρίζομαι:

to do something pleasant or agreeable (to one), to do a favour to, gratify

  1. to show one's self gracious, kind, benevolent
  2. to grant forgiveness, to pardon
  3. to give graciously, give freely, bestow

Paul uses the same word Eph 4:32

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Faith to believe on Christ is given !

The same word for give in Rom 8:32

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

χαρίζομαι, Its also used here Phil 1:29

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

For all whom Christ is graciously given to die for, it will likewise be graciously given for them to believe on His Name. This solidifies the truth that everyone He died for shall believe on Him. If one does not believe on Him, its because they were not of His Sheep He died for Jn 10:26

26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

It denotes inner sanctification as well, hence Christs death brings with it a inner sanctification of the Spirit. Again the word sanctified n Heb 10:10 ἁγιάζω:

  1. to purify
    1. to cleanse externally
    2. to purify by expiation: free from the guilt of sin
    3. to purify internally by renewing of the soul

Thats something a spiritually dead sinner must have in order to be saved from the power of sin, which Christs death provides, hence He procured for them He died, the Holy Spirit to do that work, its one of the crowning achievements of His saving work,

Titus 3:5-6

5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

Thats what a Saviour from sin does !

A New Heart,

Another thing that accompanies Christ, that will be given with and or because of Him, and that is a New Heart, a promised Covenant Blessing, of which He is Surety and Mediator

Jer 31:33

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Ezk 36 26

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Its from this New Heart God calls forth Faith and any other evangelical obedience

The obtaining of their Salvation/Redemption

All for whom Christ died, whom He was given for, with Him was the obtaining of their Salvation, so they must be saved Heb 9:12

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Redemption here means:

  1. a ransoming, redemption
  2. deliverance, esp. from the penalty of sin

So whats the penalty of sin ? Is it not death ? So they for whom He died, shed His Own Blood for, can never experience the second death, because its for the penalty of sin.

If CHRIST has obtained their eternal redemption by the shedding of HIS own blood, and actually putting HIMSELF in their place of condemnation as their SUBSTITUTE, then it follows that:

CHRIST has saved them; not only from the penalty which was associated with that sin, but from the effects of it as well.

See because Christ has delivered them from the penalty of sin, they must be delivered from all its effects, for instance, Spiritual Death, they must be saved from an spiritually dead, unregenerate state, and given instead life, Spiritual life. Its only Just because the penalty of their sin is taken away. They must be saved !

The obtaining of their Salvation/Redemption

All for whom Christ died, whom He was given for, with Him was the obtaining of their Salvation, so they must be saved Heb 9:12
Afraid not as Christ died for all and all are not saved

Afraid not as Christ died for all and all are not saved

Thats speaking against Christ, see the Christ of scripture, all for whom He died, His Sheep, He obtained for them eternal redemption Heb 9:12

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

That redemption means they have been delivered from the penalty of their sins by His Blood. Thats Salvation
