The Elect

Whether they know it or not, fatalists have simply replaced the gospel and faith and repentance with determinism . They want some of the unknown credit for being elect because it was their being special kind of sinner different from the rest of the sinners why they were chosen over others. That's Monergism - their salvation was not from hearing and believing the gospel they were the special chosen and saved ones from before creation . TULIP has replaced the gospel.

hope this helps !!!

If any monergist wants credit for being elect, that person isn't a monergist.

Except God says who and why He saved some and not others in many places. :)
Exactly. Jesus said

30 As He said these things, many believed in Him [trusted, relied on, and adhered to Him].
31 So Jesus said to those Jews who had believed in Him, If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples.
32 And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.
John 8:30–32.

Jesus had just finished a speech at the temple where He delineated differences between Himself and His listeners. “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins” (John 8:23–24). The result of Jesus’ message was that “even as he spoke, many believed in him” (verse 30). Then, in verse 31, Jesus begins to speak just to those who had believed.Got?

Yes Jesus was speaking to them they believed in him. That was the present tense. Just average ordinary day people, not the elect. Sha...BAM shakalakalaka

The question was asked in the context of monergism and election. Your answer assumes free will/synergism and is therefore not an answer to the context of the question.

Yes my answer is that anyone is able to choose Jesus Christ as their savior. Once you believe in Jesus and are saved then regeneration happens, which may be defined as that supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, based on the merits of Christ’s redemptive work, which is exercised directly on the spirit of man to bring him from death to life, from separation from God to a living relationship with Him.

God's plan of salvation for all mankind.

According to Romans 5:8, God demonstrated His love for us through the death of His Son. The Bible declares “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Rom. 3:23. In order for one to be saved you must choose Jesus,

But the gospel is free and we can freely choose whom we will worship. You must decide for yourself to worship Christ.

Jesus stands at the door and knocks. If anyone hears his voice and opens the door, He will come in Revelation 3:20

Why does he knock? Why doesn’t he just go in? Because the soul is free to choose. If you choose not to open the door that's on you. But if you want salvation you must open the door and invite him in.

Yes, but you didn't answer the question in the context it was given. I'm sure you scored some brownie points with your fellow free-willers, but the real answer to the question is, nobody knows why God elects one person and not another. Scripture doesn't tell us. If anything, scripture describes God electing a murderer (Moses) an adulterer (David) a swindler (Jacob) a persecutor of Christians (Paul) and so on. So God is clearly not electing people based on what they will do or have done.

The answer to the question is he lets us choose. You're not sure what I scored it's just a derogatory remark you came up with. That's the same way it is with election, It shows disrespect for God's Plan of Salvation.

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life. This passage tells us that God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Believe in Jesus and abide in him and you have eternal life it's that simple.

Rack up more brownie points I'm on a roll. :ROFLMAO:

Leighton just made white look really bad with John 6:44-45

White has a tendency to make himself look bad.
He really did here kind ok like slick does in his debates with ad homs. Leighton didn’t need the Greek and ran circles around him with common sense and plain meaning from the text destroying the T, U and I of tulip. It was the best I have ever seen from Leighton. He came firing on all cylinders and was well prepared

It was funny that Dr White tried to claim hearing and learning were passive

The greek did not support Dr white

It would have been nice had Leighton noted this earlier but he did in the question and answer period

This was the best I have seen from Leighton there was no contest. He was on fire. :)

It was a night and day difference seeing the Holy Spirit directed presentation vs the wisdom of man at work. It was as Paul said the pulling down of strongholds below demonstrated by Leighton.

2 Corinthians 10- For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Leighton just made white look really bad with John 6:44-45
Could you tell us exactly when in the video does Leighton start to shatter White's poor understanding of John 6:44-45? It's a rather long video and thanks for telling us about that video.
