John 17:3-what Jesus taught

John 17:3= a prayer to his Father)--This means eternal life, their knowing you( Father) THE ONLY TRUE GOD and the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ---- It is clear, the Only true God did not come down here he sent another named Jesus as a mortal. And 100% fact Jesus teaches the Father is the only true God. There was no Jesus in the OT. So who did God send? The bible is filled with evidence that he sent Michael. He sent his best.

I am not obligated to answer to any of your questions.

JW's use the word "only" in reference to God and then often apply it in reference to Jesus.

They are very confused.
You have no answer. Why? Its because its you who are confused and filled with falsereasonings.

JW's are confused with the word "only" which is from the text you quoted from.
I just read 4 different translations of John 17:3--all had The Only true God for the one who sent Jesus=Father. All who follow Jesus believe him.

Then you should ask yourself why the JW's apply what they affirm is to God alone in reference to Jesus.

You are missing Jesus entire point in John 17- He is saying He is equal with the Father and that Eternal Life is found only in God. That is both the Father and the Son- 17:3 and keep reading until verse 5 another verse where Jesus is equal with the Farther- The Glory I shared with you BEFORE CREATION. Only God existed before creation and God does not share His glory with anyone else- unless like the Father that Person is also God- ie God the Son.

hope this helps !!!

No Jesus did not say that. Jesus takes 0 credit for any of it-John 5:19,30--He pointed all to his Father.

Nope He says eternal life is from Father snd Son- Equals in 17:3 and they share the same glory together before creation 17:5.

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began

hope this helps !!!

Trinitarians cannot accept that Jesus said that his God is the only true God.

Trinitarians don’t believe that Jesus’s God is the only true God. Trinitarians believe that the Trinity is the only true God.

You do well accepting that Jesus is talking only about his God; not their deity, nor any other.

There is no God besides the Messiah’s God. Everything else is idols.

False.

Trinitarians don’t believe that Jesus’s God is the only true God. Trinitarians believe that the Trinity is the only true God.

False dichotomy.

Thanks.

There is no God besides the Messiah’s God. Everything else is idols.

Including the Messiah himself who gets the "God shareables snack pack."

If you believed Jesus said that his God is the only true God then you would‘t call anyone or anything else the only true God.

“The Trinity is the only true God.“ - trinitarianism

“My God and Father is the only true God.” - Jesus

Jesus knows of no other besides his God that is the only true.

Jesus isn’t a trinitarian. Jesus is a unitarian. He believed his God, the Father, is the only true God.

You’re a trinitarian. Your God is the Trinity. You believe your God, the Trinity, is the only true God.

False dichotomy.

Thanks.

Idolatry does terrible things to the mind.

How many times have I said that Jesus of Nazareth is a unitarian?

How many times have trinitarians gone on record saying - no, insisting - that he isn’t?

Follow the trinitarians, if you’re persuaded by them. They will walk you to the Trinity.

Follow Jesus, if you’re persuaded by him. He will walk you to his God.

Jesus won’t ever walk anyone to a deity which isn’t his God; trinitarianism / trinitarians always will.

“What is most embarrassing for the Church is the difficulty of proving any of these statements of dogma from the New Testament documents. You simply cannot find the doctrine of the Trinity set out anywhere in the Bible. St. Paul has the highest view of Jesus‘ role and person, but nowhere does he call him God. Nor does Jesus himself anywhere explicitly claim to be the Second Person of the Trinity, wholly equal to his heavenly Father. As a pious Jew, he would have been shocked and offended by such an idea.

(Tom Harpur, For Christ’s Sake, p. 11)

Bold is mine.

The Church isn’t embarrassed that the doctrine of the Trinity isn’t found in the Bible. The Church isn’t embarrassed that Jesus didn’t claim to be the Second Person of the Trinity. The Church glories in it.

Jesus, a pious Jew, knows what the Church has done to him, and to his God. He’s no longer shocked by it.

Offended by what the Church has done to him, and to his God? I think that’s putting it far too mildly.

Jesus will not compromise with paganism. The Church did.

Gregory of Nyssa. Remember that name. Remember his boast.

The only true God doesn’t share his glory with anyone else; Jesus does (John 17:22).
