Now, the question remains, How and when does the Spirit of God come to dwell in you? Rom 6:2-7 says that the we die to sin and the Spirit comes to dwell in us when we are baptized into Christ. And Rom 10:14-17 says that salvation comes by faith, and faith by hearing the Word of God. It is through the hearing of the Word (the Gospel of how He was lifted up) that we are drawn to Christ, receive baptism, and our mind is turned from the flesh to the Spirit.

Isaiah 58:2 (KJV 1900) — 2 Yet they seek me daily, And delight to know my ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And forsook not the ordinance of their God: They ask of me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching to God.
Psalm 9:10 (KJV 1900) — 10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: For thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Rom 3:11

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Them who are in the flesh, which all the unregenerate are, having not the Spirit, they cannot please Rom 8:8

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

And Faith/Seeking God pleases Him according to Heb 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
