Trump ?

Trump on numerous occasions has gone on record stating a few contradictory things that should be alarming for true Christian’s.

1- claims to have a good relationship with “ God”

2- says he has never asked God to forgive him for anything.

3- the Bible is “ personal “ to me I don’t want to discuss it.

Does anyone else see the oxymoron?

Those statements alone would be oxymorons. I’ll need to look into it a bit more. I think your 3rd point that you brought up makes sense. I’ve heard that statement from a few people (usually men) throughout my life. People will say “oh my relationship with God is personal, it’s between me and God.” And yes, that’s true in a sense. The relationship between a believer and Christ—it is a personal relationship. But, it’s a personal relationship evidenced by fruit of the believer (Galatians 5).

So the context of the 3rd quote was when he was asked about his favorite verse or passage in the bible.

In light of 1 Peter 3:15 and the fact if someone is a believer/ follower of Christ they are commanded to give an answer to the hope they have in them with gentleness and respect to everyone who asks you.

1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Colossians 4:6
Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone

Uh oh.... I am in trouble again.

I do not have a favorite verse.

When I was a babe in Christ, I would have spouted John 3:16 without batting an eye.

As to The Donald.... I think religiously he is so scrambled because while I applaud his dropping his claim to the Presbyterian church, when he said he was now a non-denominational Christian it did upset me. For that to me means he has no solid beliefs.

It is a shame because even though he was Presby, which means he would have been taught Predestination.... maybe he just feels secure where he is at with God?

I have no doubt that he is in office today because God put him there. (He also said he believed that) but I wonder if
that is because of the way he will govern.... like maybe God is moving some more of His chess pieces toward the
soon return of Jesus?

I voted for him 3 times. I do not know if this last was a is take or not, but there was no other option IMO.

But the change religiously does bother me, for I wish he was committed to a belief, even one I disagreed with, then taking the Kumbaya way.

Don’t get me wrong I like him as president just not his cloaking as a “ Christian “. Something doesn’t line up with scripture as my 3 points , quotes bear out.

It almost seems that since he beat death in Butler PA he feels as if God did save him. He has said it many times.

We do not know if perhaps God gave him a message. (Not through Paula White) but in the immediate days that followed the shooting when he was so reserved... and maybe he feels "he" understands what is expected of him from God and Trump being Trump just feels improperly powerful.

As president... I would vote a 4th time, but am waiting to see what these tariffs do, and what his foreign policy turns up.

If I had a vote I would go for Jared... Why? At least he is still with Ivanka since 2009 yet Don Jr has now moved on from

edit if you have time left to do so

should read "though we are all children/offspring of God, we are not all sons of God"

children of God(created in the image of God) end up in Hell if they do not become sons of God
