It was a stupid questionThis is your answer to who your lord is, Saul or Jesus?! Good grief.

On the contrary, your refusal to answer is enlightening. You showed the words of Jesus matter less to you than the words of Saul.It was a stupid question
Oh no. Saul is guilty of changing an OT prophecy with one word and doing so to fit his ends.On the contrary, your refusal to answer is enlightening. You showed the words of Jesus matter less to you than the words of Saul.
Isaiah 9:9 (Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he used to say, “Come, and let us go to the seer”; for he who is called a prophet now was formerly called a seer.)There were seers in the Old Testament called prophets, but the word "seer" is not used in the New Testament for prophets. I just heard about this about 5 months ago at church. They said they have three seers in the church. I asked them about it during Sunday School and they said they could all see the glory around our pastor when he is giving the sermon. So I prayed and asked God if this gift is from him I would like it also. I saw nothing around him during his morning prayer, but as soon as he began his sermons a white glow emanated from around his head and shoulders. I had never seen that before. I believe it has to do with testing the spirits and discerning of spirits.
Does anyone else have this gift? Tell me what you've experienced. I did visit a church with a missionary friend of mine, and when the pastor started the sermon a 10 in black billowing cloud was coming out of him. I looked around the church and I don't see anything around anyone else, or even the pastor until he starts preaching.
I have the office of Teacher, because in 2000 I was driving from Arizona to a yearly seminar at my previous church in California, and God spoke to me and said "I'm giving you the office of Teacher." The next year (same seminar) a prophet spoke and said, "may her eyes be opened by the Spirit of God" and they have been. Though I have the office of Teacher and all the gifts of the Spirit except the 2 regarding tongues, and now this sight for the discerning of spirits, God never said He was giving me the office of Prophet. I use my gift of prophecy in teaching. It allows me to know the true meaning of Scriptures. The fulfillment of that prophecy in 2001 makes me a seer, because I can literally SEE the type of spirit/Spirit around a pastor, and God has told me prophetic Words, He, Himself, has not told me He is giving me the OFFICE of Prophet, so I don't claim that. Maybe someday He will, but I'm satisfied with the office I have.Isaiah 9:9 (Formerly in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he used to say, “Come, and let us go to the seer”; for he who is called a prophet now was formerly called a seer.)
The verse I quoted says seer and prophet are the same thing.I have the office of Teacher, because in 2000 I was driving from Arizona to a yearly seminar at my previous church in California, and God spoke to me and said "I'm giving you the office of Teacher." Being called requires an internal evidence and an external evidence. Do you know what these are and have you experienced them?I have the office of Teacher, because in 2000 I was driving from Arizona to a yearly seminar at my previous church in California, and God spoke to me and said "I'm giving you the office of Teacher." I agree. Maybe I am, but prophet is an office given to the church by Jesus. Of those offices I can say I am a Teacher because God spoke to me giving me that office officially, and has equipped me . God hasn't spoken to me about the office of Prophet who can do more than see and have the gift of prophecy in all its ways. For instance, even though I can forth-tell the truth of Scriptures by God, which is also part of the gift of prophecy, I still cannot foretell the future all the time, something a prophet with that office can do. God has only let me see the future twice. God knows whether having these gifts makes me an official prophet or not, and I will not presume differently until and if He ever tells me. But I'm not being presumptuous in saying I am a seer with the ability to discern the spirit of the sermons pastors or anyone else is teaching. I'm happy with that much, though I sure would love for my eyes to be opened further to see angels! I have a girlfriend that sees shadow people (demons). That gifting of sight would also be helpful to me.The verse I quoted says seer and prophet are the same thing.
I agree it is not presumptious to identify that you have a gift. To the contrary we would probably operate more effectively if we identify our gifts.I agree. Yes, and 1 Corinthians 14 is interesting. "29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge. 30 But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.I agree it is not presumptious to identify that you have a gift. I think you agree with me that the gift has changed between the Testaments. But it would be difficult to trully lay out an teach this difference, other saying that evryone in the chuch can have prophetic moments
Yes. And as you know there is in that passage the parallel teaching on the use of tongues in a service. Yet. many Christians cannot take it in for some mysterious reasonYes, and 1 Corinthians 14 is interesting. Some people criticize Pentecostals when they as a congregation lift up praise to God as they did on the Day of Pentecost in either their own language or in tongues like a choir. A teaching explanation is given before they start. No interpretation is needed for it is to God, not a message from God. The rules in 1 Cor. 14:27-28 are not for personal prayer and praise language, but for those with the offices of Tongues and Interpretation. For a long time I didn't know there were two different gifts of tongues, and unless you know the difference some critics make fools of themselves by misapplying the rules for the office on everyone's personal tongues which need no explanation. What makes the difference is the direction (TO God or FROM God).Yes. And as you know there is in that passage the parallel teaching on the use of tongues in a service. Tounges and Interpretation is a difficult topic . Even people who walk in these gifts often cannot explain from the scripture what they are doing and why it is valid. There was a time maybe more than 20 years ago, after hearing so much contrary ideas and feelings from various Christians, that I decided to make an exhaustive search for every piece of scripture I could find on the topic and then studied and wrote a paper with my best understanding. That cleared so much up for me. It was probably the fist time in my Christian life that I became acutely aware that some churches ignore scriptures on purpose. Some people criticize Pentecostals when they as a congregation lift up praise to God as they did on the Day of Pentecost in either their own language or in tongues like a choir. Let me know what I messed up so I can rewrite it. I wrote a book on tongues that took me 7 years to write. I would ask God questions and He would answer usually in the morning when I was just becoming awake. It is called The Hidden Mystery Behind Tongues. Some of your word choices and phrasings here are unfamiliar to me and I'd have to have a longer discussion with you than I like to have here (my typing is slow) to understand which scriptures and experience has brought you to express your truth the way you do here.
I don't mean that anything is messed up. just that in a few places I was not absolute sure what you were referring to.Let me know what I messed up so I can rewrite it. I just went back and looked again. I messed up. Somehow I was responding to some other post, in your p0st the only thing I saw was two tongues. I wonder how you got that.
I wonder how you know these things about this woman's personal life and giftings?I already told her she is not a teacher nor a prophet, but she wants to be self-deceived and you in your ignorance of Scripture want to encourage her in her sin.
God hates imposters.
I know "these things" by applying what she's said against Scripture.I wonder how you know these things about this woman's personal life and giftings?
I understand that many Christians think if someone disagrees with them the other person is always wrong and therfore has no teaching gift, but how you can have concluded that she has no prophetic gift is puzzling.
Can you give me an example of just one specific thing she said that you feel is not found in scripture? or is contrary to scriptureI know "these things" by applying what she's said against Scripture.
I already addressed it with her.Can you give me an example of just one specific thing she said that you feel is not found in scripture? or is contrary to scripture
