By the will of God: God gives us the freedom to choose against his will! It’s part of the Image of God.Except the will of God right?
Nowhere stated in scripture.By the will of God: God gives us the freedom to choose against his will! It’s part of the Image of God.
Doug
So your are literally saying that the image of God acts contrary to Himself? God can not act contrary to His Character.By the will of God: God gives us the freedom to choose against his will! It’s part of the Image of God.
Doug
What part? I can't image someone actually believes what he wrote in its entirety.Nowhere stated in scripture.
No, that’s not what I said: I said that freedom of choice is within the capacities imbedded in the imago Dei. This would include things like being rational, relational, personal. God’s ability to choose is derived from the capacities within his “image”; that is the components that make up his being God. Freedom to choose according to his desires is one of the many things within his natural being, aka, his image! So your are literally saying that the image of God acts contrary to Himself? God can not act contrary to His Character.
“Choose for yourself who you will serve” (Josh 24:15) gives the foundational expression of responsibility to choose, and therefore the capacity to choose.Nowhere stated in scripture.
So are you saying the word choose implies ability?“Choose for yourself who you will serve” (Josh 24:15) gives the foundational expression of responsibility to choose, and therefore the capacity to choose.
Obviously, all rights and capabilities and capacities are authorized by God to exist.
Doug
The ability to make choices and decisions. What part? I can't image someone actually believes what he wrote in its entirety.
I'm going to try one more time to convince your otherwise of your position. This is a good spot to do this....
What is will?
God often acts contrary to His will. He isn't self centered like us.
What else would the command to Choose this or that imply. If you do not have the ability. the command is meaninglessSo are you saying the word choose implies ability?
The ability to make choices and decisions.
Times up

Your will is bound by your character? That isn't a viable definition of will when you can do anything. Such has no limits apart from Character.
Try again.
So if i commanded you to fly a F-16 I am to assume you can fly one? What else would the command to Choose this or that imply. If you do not have the ability. the command is meaningless
John 3 gives us two choices
Believe - Be born again
Do not believe, remain condemned.
The same choices that were given to the children of Israel when moses lifted the serpent on a pole.
Believe - Live
Remain in unbelief - die
Adam had a choice.
Eat of every tree but this one and live
Eat of the one tree and die.
what does flying an F16 have to do with trusting God?So if i commanded you to fly a F-16 I am to assume you can fly one?
There ya go folks. His premise is blown to smithereens. Command does not necessarily imply ability.what does flying an F16 have to do with trusting God?
