The Unitarian belief that Jesus is not God causes those who offer worship to the Father's Throne (where Jesus sits) to be guilty of idolatry.

Since Peter isn't Satan* then Jesus isn't God.

Matthew 16 (NIV)
23Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!

John 20 (NIV)
28Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!”
Why? Quit taking things out of context.

21 From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.

22 Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.”

Peter was trying to interfere with "the plan". What is "the plan"?

There’s the command: “Get behind me!” While Peter had just declared, in verse 18, the rock of Jesus’s identity, he now becomes a stumbling block to Jesus’s destiny. He’s attempted to place himself between Christ and the cross because God’s plans and purposes were incompatible, offensive, and counterintuitive to Peter’s.

Jesus is quick to point out that such opposition, no matter how well-meaning, no matter how zealous, and no matter if it’s coming from one of his beloved followers, is furthering the efforts of the Adversary and not the Almighty. Peter has his mind not on God’s but human interests.

And I say he has his mind on what Jesus said right before and he was feeling all self empowered in his new found role.

18 “I also say to you that you are 1aPeter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.

19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.”

Vs 19 had to have Peter thinking he could stop things.... so a healthy rebuke from Jesus was warranted.

You have to quit taking verses out of context.

And Jesus was not literally calling Peter the devil

I answered it already in the Post I'm here replying to. You have difficulty reading English I see. That explains alot about you.

It's you that's "squirming" because you continue to run away from the phrase "the Word was God" phrase as fast as your little legs can carry you.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️Run Runningman Run!!! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️
You responded to it. You didn't answer the question. Was your answer yes or no?

I see that you have no understanding of the difference between a person and his attributes. Somebody please teach this runningman to stop running away from English Grammar and to start appreciating it.

You possess a dirt poor understanding of attributes. Peter was manifesting the attributes of satan that many people especially politicians manifest. How many people manifest the attributes of God such as power over death? O I forgot, you're a closet Mormon who thinks people become God. Now it makes sense why you think that way.
So someone can be referred to as a different person without becoming that person. Scripture proves it. Jesus and Peter are not incarnations of spiritual beings.

So according to your reasoning... Peter is the devil?

I can tell me arguing with you is eating you alive inside. I am living in your heard all day probably. Rent free.
What in the world is a "heard"??? More dirt poor English grammar on your part, I see. It's time you went back to school. Also, ask for your money back from all your English Teachers who failed to teach you Grammar. :ROFLMAO:
