The fact still remains that there are no instructions, commandments, or teachings to pray to Jesus in the entire Bible.

This means Jesus isn't God. Scripture only teaches to pray to God, the Father.

Sometimes a good point is about what the Bible doesn't say. Such as it never teaching anything about a triune god, to worship a triune god, to pray to a triune god. You deny WHO the Son is. Jesus is God. Jesus embodies the whole Godhead, Col. 2. He is our God and Savior Jesus Christ Titus 2:13. His name, Emmanuel means God with us. 182 pages and over a year later, this thread stands unrefuted because Scripture cannot be added to nor changed no matter how cleverly one argues.

The fact still remains that there are no instructions, commandments, or teachings to pray to Jesus in the entire Bible.

This means Jesus isn't God. Scripture only teaches to pray to God, the Father.

Matthew 6​

6But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.​

The Bible explicitly shows people praying to Jesus for forgiveness​

First, Jesus received prayer after His ascension.

Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

Stephen is praying. And he is praying to Jesus.

Then immediately he prays........

Acts 7:60 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

That is a request for forgiveness of sin - addressed to Jesus.

If Jesus were not God and not the one who forgives sins, this would be blasphemy.
But Scripture records it with God’s approval.

Here is a fact for you. The early church was literally defined as people who prayed to Jesus

1 Cor 1:2 To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:

Joel 2:32 “And it will come about that whoever calls on the name of the LORD Will be delivered; For on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem There will be those who escape, As the LORD has said, Even among the survivors whom the LORD calls.

Romans 10:13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”

“Call on the name” is the biblical phrase for prayer (Joel 2:32, Romans 10:13).

Christians are defined as people who pray to Jesus.

And what about.....Jesus Himself commanded people to pray to Him?????/

John 14:14 “If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

You do not ask angels. You do not ask prophets. You ask God.

Jesus put Himself in that position.

Another Truth .....Only God forgives sins - and Jesus does it

Yet Jesus responds:

So when you pray to Jesus for forgiveness, you are praying to the One who has the authority to forgive.

The Bible shows believers praying directly to Jesus for forgiveness (Acts 7:59–60), defines Christians as those who “call on the name of the Lord Jesus” (1 Cor 1:2), and records Jesus commanding, “Ask Me” (John 14:14). Since only God forgives sins (Mark 2:7) and Jesus does so, praying to Jesus for forgiveness is 100% biblical.

And @Runningman , if you are going to say “you pray through Jesus to the Father,” that’s true — but it does not exclude praying to Jesus.

The early church did both.

You deny WHO the Son is. Jesus is God. Jesus embodies the whole Godhead, Col. 2. He is our God and Savior Jesus Christ Titus 2:13. His name, Emmanuel means God with us. You have been denominationalized. In other words, brainwashed to twist scripture like all others in that denomination. I can't think of a denomination that doesn't. Stop being spoon-fed doctrines of demons and willingly swallowing them hook, line and sinker! That only makes you sound ignorant when you deny other scriptures that contradict what you have been told to believe.

AG, John 1:1 says that the Word is God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

I've always called myself a Trinitarian, but I DO NOT believe the Trinity is three separate persons. That may shock some that I am a Trinitarian. But it has to do with Adam being made in the image of God - Elohim - which is a plural word. I also do not agree with all these people who try to explain the Trinity as like an egg, or the different elements of water - steam, ice, and liquid. I just turn to the Bible and let it explain the triunity of God and man. 1 Thess. 5:23 - we are one person, but are spirit, soul and body. And the Bible also shows us which part of us is the spirit, so thereby showing us what is left - the soul, and of course the body.

Romans 7:25 So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
Galatians 5:17 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

The publisher of the Bible made a stupid error when you compare texts. It is NOT Spirit, but spirit. It is our spirit - our mind- which knows the law, but until we are born again of the Spirit, the mind works against the flesh. Those who read on knows that those who are born again are NOT IN THE FLESH, but in the Spirit, so the spirit in Galatians 5:17 is just us, not the Holy Spirit. Also, that also means that Romans 7:14-25 is not talking about those who are NOT in the flesh, so that leaves those like the Old Testament Jews who knows the law:

Romans 7:1. Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives? 2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.

It is heartbreaking that there are church goers who struggle with the flesh and do not know that Jesus can take away that old man, the sin nature, so that you then have no desire to sin, so cannot. 1 John 3:9. That is why on the forums there are so many that are willing to give up a place in heaven to demand that Romans 7:14-25 is speaking about Christians!

That was me for the first 30 years of going to church as I was born to a Christian family. But on 2/9/77, the years of stuggling with the flesh was suddenly gone. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit.
