Praying to Jesus

Imagine spending most of your life in unbelief and then you stand before the LORD who created you!!!

What GREAT SORROW and ETERNAL DESPAIR

You have no grounds to think that any member of this Forum will be damned for not sharing your view in an theological debate.
If your pastors have taught you that people get damned because of their position on the Trinity they are wrong.

If you have information about how @Runningman lives his life, and therefore you picture him having a hard time before the Lord in the Last Judgement, you should talk to him privately, pointing out the specific sins (not theological mistakes, but sins) that are putting his soul in danger.

If you don't have this information, I would respectfully ask you to retract publicly from your statement above.

That is very terrifying for them my friend .
Many call the alpha and omega , the first and the last , A LIAR . that will not bode well for them .
Those who do not follow Jesus commandment, but practice evil, are calling Him a liar.
So be very careful on how you accuse your brothers, because "with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you." (Mat 7:2)

What GREAT SORROW and ETERNAL DESPAIR = Matthew 7:21-27

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
22Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

26“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”

God gives to those who belong to Him the Holy Spirit to encourage, to bless, to teach and preach the Gospel of the LORD Jesus Christ.

The Gospel includes WARNINGS and DO NOT ENTER instructions for us that we may avoid the pitfalls and deception of religion.

The WARNING of religious theological mistake/error of denying the LORD Jesus Christ is given throughout the Gospel.

FYI - No one has been judged or condemned by my post but we all have been instructed by it that we may not remain in the sin of unbelief.

Which 'camp' do you stand with??? - John 10:33
Those who picked up stones and say: "“We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You/Jesus, who are a man, make Yourself out to be God.”

a soul of Him who finally gets it and dies to self, will go home.

the damned are serpent souls, esau, and those who refuse to die to self. the first ones mentioned are not souls out of Him. the second ones are few including many pastors sure they are saved.

the three groups on that Day are

1 serpent souls & esau = not His will never access restored eden paradise. that Day for them is judgment.

2 pastors and those of jacob who are left behind to go through trib on that Day because clinging/teaching/believing esau's corrupt scroll, kjv and refuse to die to self. the hope is many of jacob will finally meet Him during trib and after their death return to Him in eden. Hopefully few from this group will remain loyal to the evil realm and never return to paradise. Most of modern christianity falls in this second group.

3 a very small number, the remnant who will return to eden on that Day and rebuild her and with Christ return to this earth during trib to visit jacob and hopefully many of jacob finally understand.

very few of group 2 are damned... hopefully

Singing to Jesus as a form of prayer

In Ephesians 5:19 Paul wrote that believers should “[Speak] to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Paul is likely telling us to sing to Jesus (“the Lord”). Since songs addressed to a divine Person are simply prayers set to rhyme and music, we could take it as a command: We are to pray to Jesus in the form of singing.

This parallels what Paul wrote in Colossians 3:16 in reference to God.

Just as one is to sing to the Father (Colossians 3:16), he/she is to sing to Jesus (Ephesians 5:19).

singing with grace in your hearts to God. (Col. 3:16)
singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord. (Eph. 5:19)

This corresponds to what is affirmed in the Old Testament.
Psalm 104:33
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live:
I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

Singing to Jesus as a form of prayer

Ephesians 5:19 (hymnos)
Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns (ὕμνοις) spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord.
Psalm 72:20 (hymnos; 71:20 LXX)
The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

Notice the Hebrew word for "prayers" was translated in the Septuagint as "hymns."
Psalm 72:20
ἐξέλιπον οἱ ὕμνοι Δαυιδ τοῦ υἱοῦ Ιεσσαι

By offering a hymn one is offering a prayer in song.
That is precisely what Paul commands all Christians to render unto the Lord Jesus in Ephesians 5:19. Thus, the Lord Jesus is the proper recipient of prayer.

You need to brush up on your Hebrew. The Hebrew word for prayers is Tefillah (תְּפִלָּה) not hymns.
Psalms 72:20 "This completes the prayers of David the son of Yishai" "זה משלים את תפילותיו של דוד בן ישי" (CJB)
Psalms 72 was written by King Shlomo (Solomon).
Shalom Rav שלום רב

Yeah he's been running around the forum for months with this weird argument about singing in your heart or hymns ever since I proved the people never one... single... time... used the word "pray" or "prayer" to describe speaking to Jesus, nor provided any instructions on praying to Jesus, in all of Scripture.

The LORD loves to sing!
Zephaniah 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear; Zion, let not your hands be weak. 17 The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet [you] with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

sacrilege!!!
we kneel on rice and the church must be quiet as a mouse
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

i was invited to a certain church one Sunday many years ago

They only sang the 1st and 3rd line of the hymn = boringly subdued

Then all was quiet where you can hear a pin drop

Next the Pastor got up to speak with some type of a 'most holy' oratory

i did not know whether to laugh or cry = definitely cry for how bound the people were in that church

Psalm 32:7
Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
Not only singing but Laughter as well = Psalm 126

When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion,
We were like those who dream.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
The Lord has done great things for us,
And we are glad.
