Let's look at other things in the verse here too. He says as ambassadors for Christ the way and manner by which we present the request you can consider it's the way and manner that Christ himself God is doing so. So he uses terms like I beg you, (other translations) we implore you or we plead with you!2 Corinthians 5:20 (UASV) — 20 Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
Such a way of phrasing something would never be necessary if there was not chance of the other NOT doing so. You would only say I beg, or I implore or plead with you if indeed it was true and is.....that man can choose to accept salvation or not. Or to say it another way if irresistible grace was a true thing.....no need again to plead the sinner will do anything.
