Irresistible Grace

God has ordained certain in mankind to be disobedient to the word 1 Pet 2:8 so when they hear it preached, they will resist it, its not hard to understand. Stephen saw it in Acts 7. But this is a far cry from the grace that regenerates a man.
Sorry the the evidence is contrary to your claim

1 Peter 2:8 (NASB95) — 8 and, “A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.

It is doom they are appointed to because of their disobedience

“Their disobedience is not ordained, the penalty of their disobedience is” (Bigg). They rebelled against God and paid the penalty.

Matthew 21:33–46 (LEB) — 33 “Listen to another parable: There was a man—a master of a house—who planted a vineyard, and put a fence around it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower, and leased it to tenant farmers, and went on a journey. 34 And when the season of fruit drew near, he sent his slaves to the tenant farmers to collect his fruit. 35 And the tenant farmers seized his slaves, one of whom they beat, and one of whom they killed, and one of whom they stoned. 36 Again, he sent other slaves, more than the first ones, and they did the same thing to them. 37 So finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance!’ 39 And they seized him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 Now when the master of the vineyard arrives, what will he do to those tenant farmers?” 41 They said to him, “He will destroy those evil men completely and lease the vineyard to other tenant farmers who will give him the fruits in their season.” 42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the cornerstone. This came about from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? 43 For this reason, I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and will be given to a people who produce its fruits. 44 And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls—it will crush him!” 45 And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew that he was speaking about them, 46 and although they wanted to arrest him, they were afraid of the crowds, because they looked upon him as a prophet.

Matthew 21:28–32 (LEB) — 28 “Now what do you think? A man had two sons. He approached the first and said, ‘Son, go work in the vineyard today.’ 29 And he answered and said, ‘I do not want to!’ But later he changed his mind and went. 30 And he approached the second and said the same thing. So he answered and said, ‘I will, sir,’ and he did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going ahead of you into the kingdom of God! 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did believe him. And when you saw it, you did not even change your minds later so as to believe in him.

Man by nature is enmity against God, so it is with his mind at the word of God, he is going to resist it, its his nature to do so, and if he is not elect, God purposely sent him the word to disobey it, making his condemnation worse !

He has not ordained mankind to be disobedient

Yes He has like these jews 1 Pet 2:8

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

In contrast we have Gods elect He calls to salvation and irresistible grace Vs 9

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

To be called out of darkness into the marvellous light is irrestible grace, the sovereign call of grace like Paul experienced Gal 1:15

But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

The call of grace brings with it Christ being revealed in a person !

Nope it is the stumbling and doom they are appointed to for being disobedient

1 Peter 2:8 (LEB) — 8 and “A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense,” who stumble because they disobey the word to which also they were consigned.

As even the Calvinist grammarian notes

Stumble at the word, being disobedient (προσκοπτουσιν τῳ λογῳ ἀπειθουντες [proskoptousin tōi logōi apeithountes]). Present active indicative of προσκοπτω [proskoptō] with dative case, λογῳ [logōi], and present active participle of ἀπειθεω [apeitheō] (cf. ἀπιστουσιν [apistousin] in 2:7) as in 3:1. Τῳ λογῳ [Tōi logōi] can be construed with ἀπειθουντες [apeithountes] (stumble, being disobedient to the word). Whereunto also they were appointed (εἰς ὁ και ἐτεθησαν [eis ho kai etethēsan]). First aorist passive indicative of τιθημι [tithēmi]. See this idiom in 1 Tim. 2:7. “Their disobedience is not ordained, the penalty of their disobedience is” (Bigg). They rebelled against God and paid the penalty.

Scripture twisting, they were appointed to disobedience. 1 Pet 2:8

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

This disobedience of theirs was also irresistible by the Sovereign Purpose of God

This is the Bible friend, and about the True God. He ordained, appointed men to disobey the the Gospel 1 Pet 2:8

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

God sent the word to some men to be a stumbling block, not as a word of Salvation Matt 21 42

42 ;Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

Their rejection of the Stone [Jesus Christ] was the Lords doing, it was His decree that they reject Christ, as it is for all who reject Him, its the Lords doing !

Nothing here contradicts irresistible Grace, you need to prove it. Grace reigns through Jesus Christ unto eternal life, which is salvation Rom 5:21

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Is sin and death irresistible via Adam ? Well Grace Moreso through Jesus Christ. Those whom Christ died for cant resist being saved, impossible

Genesis 6:5–6 (LEB) — 5 And Yahweh saw that the evil of humankind was great upon the earth, and every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was always only evil. 6 And Yahweh regretted that he had made humankind on the earth, and he was grieved in his heart.

Jeremiah 7:31 (LEB) — 31 And they built the high place of Topheth, which is in the Valley of Ben Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I have not commanded, and it did not come into my mind.

Ecclesiastes 7:29 (LEB) — 29 Look! This alone I found: God made mankind upright, but they have devised many schemes.”

Psalm 95:8–11 (LEB) — 8 “Do not harden your heart as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness, 9 when your ancestors tried me. They put me to the test, even though they had seen my work. 10 For forty years I loathed that generation, and said, ‘They are a people whose heart wanders. And my ways they do not know.’ 11 Therefore I swore in my anger, ‘They shall surely not enter into my rest.’ ”

Ezekiel 6:9 (LEB) — 9 And your fugitives will remember me among the nations to which they were taken captive, that I was shattered by their adulterous heart which departed from me, and by their adulterous eyes which went after their idols, and they will feel loathing for themselves, for the evil that they did, for all of their detestable things.

Jeremiah 3:19–20 (LEB) — 19 Then I thought, ‘How I would set you among the children, and I would give you a land of desire, an inheritance of the glory of the hosts of nations.’ And I thought, ‘You would call me, “My father,” and you would not turn back from behind me.’ 20 However, as a wife departs treacherously from her lover, so you have dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel,” declares Yahweh.

And the cause of mans/elect salvation. Grace reigns through Jesus Christ. Also all of Rom 5 is about the elect, not mankind in general. Paul is contrasting the fall of the elect in their natural federal head Adam with that of their Spiritual Federal Head Jesus Christ. Has nothing to do with the non elect reprobate

Grace in Salvation emanating from Jesus Christ is Sovereign Efficacious, and irresistible, it reigns unto eternal life/Salvation Rom 5:17,21

17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
