Irresistible Grace

Wrong His will is to obey and not sin

Next fallacy
They were doing Gods will, His will is to harden some Rom 9:13-14

18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

They had no other choice but to resist the preaching of stephen

Nope that’s Israel His elect/ chosen people

Everyone is unregenerate before they are born again. And nobody knows when God regenerates a man, its a mysterious work Jn 3

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

8 the wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

So when you see Paul ask him when was he regenerated by the Spirit. Whenever it was, it was irresistible

We all know when Paul became saved because we have scripture.

As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”
Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.
Acts 9:3-6

Paul confessed Jesus as Lord. He then understood that He was risen from the dead because he spoke with Him.

Nobody is saved apart from this….

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

They were only doing Gods will, for who has resisted His will ? Rom 9:19

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
So then God does allow the Holy Spirit to be resisted. Calvinism (the I in TULIP) blew up in your face again for the 4th time!

@JLB

We all know when Paul became saved because we have scripture.

Paul's conversion Illustrates and typifies Irresistible grace, the I in Tulip, all for whom Christ died will be sovereignly saved by Grace as Paul was, just with different details.

So God ordained them to resist his grace/ So then grace is not irresistible.

Your theology is convoluted.
It doesnt say they resisted His Grace. They resisted the Spirit in preaching of stephen as did the jews of old resisted the preaching of the prophets, and yes they were predestined to resist and disobey. Its like now, you are resisting the Spirit in my witness of the Truth. 1 Pet 2:8

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Matt 21:42

Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?

There rejection of Christ was the Lords doing friend.

The Holy Spirit is the Sprit of Grace that God allows people to resist. Calvinism (the I in TULIP) blew up in your face again for the 5th time!

1. Hebrews 10:29 (ESV)

> "How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of Grace?"

2. Zechariah 12:10 (ESV)

> “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a Spirit of Grace and pleas for mercy…”

Your words were

God ordained them to resist and disobey

but your words lack truth.

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

1 Peter 2:8 (NASB95) — 8 and, “A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE”; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.

It is doom they are appointed to because of their disobedience

“Their disobedience is not ordained, the penalty of their disobedience is” (Bigg). They rebelled against God and paid the penalty.

Matthew 21:33–46 (LEB) — 33 “Listen to another parable: There was a man—a master of a house—who planted a vineyard, and put a fence around it, and dug a winepress in it, and built a watchtower, and leased it to tenant farmers, and went on a journey. 34 And when the season of fruit drew near, he sent his slaves to the tenant farmers to collect his fruit. 35 And the tenant farmers seized his slaves, one of whom they beat, and one of whom they killed, and one of whom they stoned. 36 Again, he sent other slaves, more than the first ones, and they did the same thing to them. 37 So finally he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ 38 But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and have his inheritance!’ 39 And they seized him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 40 Now when the master of the vineyard arrives, what will he do to those tenant farmers?” 41 They said to him, “He will destroy those evil men completely and lease the vineyard to other tenant farmers who will give him the fruits in their season.” 42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, this has become the cornerstone. This came about from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? 43 For this reason, I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and will be given to a people who produce its fruits. 44 And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls—it will crush him!” 45 And when the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they knew that he was speaking about them, 46 and although they wanted to arrest him, they were afraid of the crowds, because they looked upon him as a prophet.

Matthew 21:28–32 (LEB) — 28 “Now what do you think? A man had two sons. He approached the first and said, ‘Son, go work in the vineyard today.’ 29 And he answered and said, ‘I do not want to!’ But later he changed his mind and went. 30 And he approached the second and said the same thing. So he answered and said, ‘I will, sir,’ and he did not go. 31 Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going ahead of you into the kingdom of God! 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did believe him. And when you saw it, you did not even change your minds later so as to believe in him.

God has ordained certain in mankind to be disobedient to the word 1 Pet 2:8 so when they hear it preached, they will resist it, its not hard to understand. Stephen saw it in Acts 7. But this is a far cry from the grace that regenerates a man.

Grace and its reign and effectiveness is much more Greater than sin and death in its reign and effectiveness, because Jesus Christ and His Headship for His People is much more Greater than adam and his headship over his people

Lets read Rom 5:21

21 That as sin hath reigned unto death[by adam], even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
