If he did not determine that evil perhaps there would have been no need for redemption
So when God restrains evil he is restraining his own purpose and when he redeems evil it is his own purpose he is redeeming?

So did God have a purpose in the fall? What would that be from the Provisionist perspective?

If your theology is true then God determined Adam's fall

The book of Job also demolishes the Calvinists argument. It's one of the rare places in scripture where you see a conversation between God and Satan in the spirit realm, in heaven I believe it is.
Anyway Satan purposed to God that he let him give Job those difficult trials. No indication whatsoever that God ordained this or had any thought about it whatsoever. The trials were allowed NOT ordained. Calvinists outside of the place of scripture say the opposite. They claim it was all thought out by God. I think one and all should stay with scripture and know that it wasn't.

When God made "man in our image", He had decided to give man "choice'.
This is Free Will, so, by doing that, God then has to allow Man to choose.
The way to understand this....is to have some Children.
You raise them so that they understand "right vs wrong", and then you watch them , as you can't make them do anything once they are of age.
So, God made us, and then Adam betrayed us, and we ended up with a SIN NATURE, and that informs choices so that what is chosen is what the Devil wants you to choose.
That is "SIN".
So, the consequence of God NOT CREATING us to be mindless meat puppets, is to create us with Free Will and so, now that Adam "fell" and this is the fall of us all....... the world is filled with sinners and sinners are owned by the Devil and that is the reason they chose to use their free will to harm, kill, destroy.....ect, ect.

the greater question is why didn't you protect your wife and children when they were raped and murdered. They were under your care and watch- they are your responsibility. deflecting your responsibility upon God- a big no no.
