Why All Is Not Ordained

Job 42:2 has a very old and significant variant that does not say anything about "thwarting".

Almost every translation has "thwarted". A few have "restrained", "hindered", "stopped". Only a few very poor expanded translations say any different.

ESV “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.

Your assessment of "poor" reflects your bias.

The Greek OT variant is ancient. Certainly earlier than the 10 century MT fabrication you're referencing. The people that produced the MT... .HATED... Messiah. You accept their fabrication for your own benefit. It is shameful.

Greek OT from the NETS

Job 42:2 "I know that you can do anything, and nothing is impossible for you"

I told you about the NETS a long time ago. You should dig deeper.

Well, what do you expect? To them, God knows almost everything most of the time, sometimes. God just got incredibly lucky with prophecy that played out exactly as written, like the flat Tyre prophecy (pun intended).

He doesn't know the manuscript evidence. Biblegateway is nothing but a incomplete source of reference.

It really is pitiful how shallow both of you are being. You stop with the very first thing that confirms your bias.

We certain believe GOD knows more than any Calvinist knows. That is why we go straight to Him and bypass the nonsense we get from others.

Your credentials for making such a claim? Is my college less than your college? My peers less than your peers?

Did you just begin theological debate last week?
That's what I figured. Your parroting what you read on some dumb anti-Calvinist website. Good job. Very convincing

I do my own work. You can't find a single word that I've lifted from another person's commentary. Zero. Go for it.

Share your credentials and we can certainly compare.
