What is the difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming?

Thank you.

Ok, then please show me where the commandment to keep the sabbath was restated in the Net Covenant, and that the death penalty still pertains to it.

You already know the scripture(s) but you have not yet SEEN the whole meaning and it's FULFILLMENT.

i love suspense - so allow 3 minutes of suspense and then i will post the scripture.

Thank you.

Part 1 of 2

First scripture = Matthew 11:28-30

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find Rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

Part 2 of 2

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned(SABBATH REST); but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

So the yoke of Christ is the New Covenant, not the Old. If it were the Old, then circumcision would still be required as well, along with sacrifice in the Temple and the Levitical priesthood. But our High Priest is from the Tribe a Judah for whom it is not Lawful to be a priest according to the Old Covenant. And the Apostles in conference, with the Holy Spirit's guidance, determined that the Gentile converts to Christ did not need to be circumcised. But the Law says that anyone who is not circumcised is to be driven out of the community of Israel. Thus, the Law of Moses and the OT is not binding on us today. Jesus is our sabbath rest under the New Covenant (Heb 4:1-11).

So please show me where the command to keep the sabbath (7th day) is found restated in the New Covenant.

If you are not circumcised by the High Priest you cannot enter the Kingdom of God !!!

#1 - JESUS is our Eternal High Priest
a.) Psalm 110:4
The Lord has sworn
And will not relent,
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”

Prophecy FULFILLED - Hebrews chapter 7

Therefore, if perfection were through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there that another priest should rise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called according to the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law. For He of whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no man has officiated at the altar.

For it is evident that our Lord arose from Judah, of which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident if, in the likeness of Melchizedek, there arises another priest who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. For He testifies:

“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”

@Doug Brents says: "So please show me where the command to keep the sabbath (7th day) is found restated in the New Covenant."

You were just shown it(Post 262, 263) but right now you cannot SEE it - give it time and prayer and the LORD will give understanding.

I have given much thought and deliberation on the passages you posted in posts 262 & 263 over the years. But as I said in post 264, those passages do not move any part of the Old Covenant into the New Covenant. Only the teaching of Jesus, and from Him through the Apostles, reinstated commands from the Old Covenant into the New. For instance, Jesus took the OT command not to murder, and reinstated it into the NT by saying not only not to murder, but not even to hate. Again, He took the command not to commit adultery from the OT, and reinstated it in the NT by saying not only not to commit adultery, but not even to lust after a woman. Similarly, the Apostles listed some sins from the OT that are also included in the NT (1 Cor 6:9-10, Gal 5:19-21, Rev 22:15). But no where in the NT is the command to keep the sabbath restated. There is evidence that the Apostles used the sabbath to teach, because one of the best times to teach someone about God is when they are already studying about Him. But there is also evidence that they and the Churches they planted began to worship on the first day of the week (the Lord's day) (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 16:1-2, Rev 1:10).

So, as I have asked repeatedly, please show me where the command to keep the sabbath on pain of death is restated in the NT.

JESUS is the SABBATH REST that was promised by the LORD in His Law

"Come ME and I will give you REST."

“He who believes in Him is not condemned(SABBATH REST/LIFE); but he who does not believe is condemned already/DEATH,
because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Matthew 5:17-18
“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Jesus is not a day. He is a man, and He is God. In Him is our rest, but He does not exist only on the 7th day. The day of the Lord is the first day of the week, but that day was not made Holy and set apart in the New Covenant either. There is no set day on which we must worship in the NT. Consider Rom 14:5-9.

Are you sure that the Salvation JESUS brought to us by His Precious Blood and Resurrestion is not a 'DAY' ???

i will now leave you with this = Read, pray and study the book of Hebrews

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:

“Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,
And saw My works forty years.
Therefore I was angry with that generation,
And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart,
And they have not known My ways.’
So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said:

Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Nice talking and sharing with you my Brother - Be Blessed in His REST

Yes, TODAY is the day to be saved. TODAY, NOW, TAKE ACTION IMMEDIATELY.

Just as Saul was instructed in Acts 22:16, "Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins by calling on His name.’"

The rapture and the second coming of Christ are often confused. Sometimes it is difficult to determine whether a scripture verse is referring to the rapture or the second coming. However, in studying end-times Bible prophecy, it is very important to differentiate between the two.

The rapture is when Jesus Christ returns to remove the church (all believers in Christ) from the earth. The rapture is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54. Believers who have died will have their bodies resurrected and, along with believers who are still living, will meet the Lord in the air. This will all occur in a moment, in a twinkling of an eye. The second coming is when Jesus returns to defeat the Antichrist, destroy evil, and establish His millennial kingdom. The second coming is described in Revelation 19:11-16.

The important differences between the rapture and second coming are as follows:

1) At the rapture, believers meet the Lord in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:17). At the second coming, believers return with the Lord to the earth (Revelation 19:14).

2) The second coming occurs after the great and terrible tribulation (Revelation chapters 6–19). The rapture occurs before the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

3) The rapture is the removal of believers from the earth as an act of deliverance (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, 5:9). The second coming includes the removal of unbelievers as an act of judgment (Matthew 24:40-41).

4) The rapture will be secret and instant (1 Corinthians 15:50-54). The second coming will be visible to all (Revelation 1:7; Matthew 24:29-30).

5) The second coming of Christ will not occur until after certain other end-times events take place (2 Thessalonians 2:4; Matthew 24:15-30; Revelation chapters 6–18). The rapture is imminent; it could take place at any moment (Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54).

Why is it important to keep the rapture and the second coming distinct?

1) If the rapture and the second coming are the same event, believers will have to go through the tribulation (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 3:10).

2) If the rapture and the second coming are the same event, the return of Christ is not imminent—there are many things which must occur before He can return (Matthew 24:4-30).

3) In describing the tribulation period, Revelation chapters 6–19 nowhere mentions the church. During the tribulation—also called “the time of trouble for Jacob” (Jeremiah 30:7)—God will again turn His primary attention to Israel (Romans 11:17-31).

The rapture and second coming are similar but separate events. Both involve Jesus returning. Both are end-times events. However, it is crucially important to recognize the differences. In summary, the rapture is the return of Christ in the clouds to remove all believers from the earth before the time of God’s wrath. The second coming is the return of Christ to the earth to bring the tribulation to an end and to defeat the Antichrist and his evil world empire.

From Got?

His Day... .

for His 144k it is our restoring to our original body made by God and to our eden.

for much of christianity who will be left behind - jacob - it will be tribulation but many of those will go Home after they die ...

for esau and the evil realm it is judgment.

I think rather than having our original bodies made by God in the garden we will have glorified bodies incapable of sin.

While the Bible doesn’t describe in detail the glorified bodies we will receive in heaven, we know that they will be like that of Jesus’ resurrected body. Our human bodies are described in 1 Corinthians 15:42–53 as perishable, dishonorable, and weak, all due to sin. Our glorified bodies will be imperishable, honorable, and powerful. Our new bodies will no longer be “natural” bodies, subject to decay and death; we will live in “victory over sin and death,” won by Christ on our behalf (1 Corinthians 15:57).

As imperishable bodies, they will no longer suffer from sickness and death, nor will they ever be subject to heat and cold or hunger and thirst. Our new bodies will be honorable in that they will not be shamed or shameful because of sin. Got?

Good Morning @Aeliana,

PLEASE read carefully, without adding to the scriptures.

The LORD never said that there will be more then one Second Coming.

Because JESUS is Coming Back = ONCE
There are no scriptures/prophecy that separate the Resurrection from Rapture as BOTH take place at His Coming.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

For this we say to you by the word of the Lord:
we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.

After that, we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Jesus' resurrection body IS the original eden body before the fall.

Soon His sons and daughters will be restored to our eden paradise.
