If they are going to be consistent with how they have been arguing?
They would have to say that passage is wrong.
Because they claim that Jesus has always functioned as God, and God can not be tempted....
They are "caught on a thought." That Jesus is God! And, He is!
But... failing to recognize that not only is He God.
But also fully human - having two natures in union!
They are failing to grasp Philippians 2:6-8 which tells us the Lord placed down His right to be as God in power,
and lowered his capacity to function within the limits of functioning as a man. A sinless man.
Give us a break! Check your ego at the door next time.
If you are trying to make me answerable to God, it's not your job. If your trying to make yourself answerable, you already are.

We all need external teachers in some way....

Mavericks enjoy agreeing with themselves.
If they subjectively agree that a passage means something?
They will meditate on it.. And, then slosh their way over into a self satisfactory dogmatism.
That is why I rejoice that I found a pastor who is fearless in correcting errors as he find them...
And, admits that he himself has been corrected.
Its the only way to grow when the Lord's thoughts and ways are not our thoughts and ways.
God will always provide checks and balances if enough believers humble themselves to walk and be led by the Spirit.

How is one to rebuke and correct oneself? When he can not think beyond the limits of his own ignorance? Meditate?
God gives us teachers...... And, only a few (James 3:1) ... who are qualified for the job.
"Not many should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive a stricter judgment."
In contrast to 'not many.' ..
The vast majority of an overabundance of teachers (2 Tim 4:3) will be salesmen, each selling ideas that they know will appeal top a particular bias.
For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine.

Anyone today can become a pastor in title, and a great number do.
Only a few can become a pastor in true substance.

It's this high and mighty attitude that is constantly suggesting, because I disagree with your theology, I must be doing everything wrong while you are doing everything right. It is highly presumptuous of you. You have no idea what I have endured or how hard I have sought the Lord. I could put up my own "boast list" against Paul's and it wouldn't look all that shabby in comparison. If you were not so ignorant of truth and were properly oriented to understanding the Word of God I would welcome your care.
As it stands right now? You in the biblical realm, are like a liberal politician who cares for the down trodden.
Caring in itself is not seen by God as a noble deed. For even a criminal can care for a wounded friend.
Caring to find a means to rightly handle the Word of God on a constant basis, God does see as "royal nobility."
For we have been called to be not just a priesthood. But, a Royal priesthood. Royalty to reign with King Christ!
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession,

Those who remain self indulgent in regards to not correctly learning and knowing the Word of God,
will not be rewarded their crown to reign with Him! 2 Cor 3:11-15
This is serious business.

As men, we are all extremely flawed. Which is why I appeal to the Love of God being contrary to Justice. We love those that agree with us and hate those that don't. I've never seen any differently in my Christian life.
Oh, people will tell you they're different...... and some are until it starts causing them issues with others. Call me a natural skeptic. I don't know the times some Christian told me they care about me even though they disagreed with me. That usually only works until you keep repeating what they don't agree with. You then become a problem. Many people believe love = silence. I've tried that before too. Jeremiah talked about how it affected him.
When I can't successfully appeal to Christian fellowship, I always "fall back to" our common ancestry in Adam. Thank you!

You equate God's Justice with man's justice.
You do not understand God's Justice.
God's Justice is the defender of His love.
For, God will not love what is unjust, nor unrighteous...
Justice will open the door and allow God's love in when He finds righteousness and a just mind.
Sentimental Christians can become a snare to growing Christians if they are not careful.....

What has that one example have to do with what was before our eyes now?
And, by the way... even Kenneth Copeland and his kind have learned they must say "Jesus is Lord!"
They do so in their flesh. Not divine trance involved like with tongues.

Even those being condemned to Hell will be able to call Him "Lord!" See that?

Did Paul claim that "Justice" was the bond of perfection? Did Paul declare one of the big "THREE" was justice?
Faith, Hope, and LOVE?
Where is Justice as you demand. You demand that Love is subservient to "Justice" but there is no evidence of such to be found in the Scriptures....
By the way. Love is pure......
