It does not matter that the thief was baptized before, during, or after being on the cross, or not at all. He was given salvation before the NT Church era, so he did not have to meet the requirements stated in NT Scripture that we today must meet. The thief on the cross is not relevant to this discussion in any way.

I use the same (Jesus) name as Peter to pray for folks.
Peter is dead.
Folks still need Jesus' help.
Everyone is a priest under Jesus.
They all have gifts they need to stir up via stepping out in Jesus name.

You're not an eye. You're not an ear. I'm not either. We all fit together. You're not doing yourself any good if you don't find your place in the body. All the ears and eyes of the body have long been formed brother. We don't need to struggle for such things. I'm fine being the armpit. He will exalt us in due time. What He says will matter. Live your life by the call of God, just don't get tricked into thinking your something you're not.

I never thought I was something. All I am saying is that God uses human beings. You are the one saying that we possess divine healing in our bodies etc. You made that one up.

We are given what the Scriptures call "gifts". You don't have the gift of healing. You said you didn't. Despite this fact, you insist you have a ministry that can include healing.

I have prayed for people that have been healed. I guess you don’t qualify it as a gift?
This is what those who believe the sign gifts have ceased do. We pray for healing of others. And God can and occasionally does heal someone.
That is not the gift of healing though. A pastor delivering a sermon from the Word could be called prophesying..'speaking forth God's Word' ..but they don't actually have the office of the prophet.

The gifts of the spirit in 1 Corinthians 12 will not cease until the second coming of Jesus Christ. That’s exactly what it says in 1 Corinthians.
Well it says 'when that which is perfect ' comes..in comparison to the gifts of tongues, prophecy and knowledge gifts.
The perfect.. completes tongues, prophecy and knowledge gifts.
Combine this with Ephesians 4 'knowledge of the unity of the faith '
Add to this the decreasing mention of the sign gifts in particular thru the NT...
Plus the death of the apostles, destruction of the Jewish temple and completion of the canon... And what is the cause of the end of the sign gifts and (I believe) ministry gifts?
The second coming doesn't mesh here with scripture.

No, per chapter 1 of the book, they are confirmed by the gifts unto the coming of the Lord.
7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Spiritual gifts are something every believer is given when they receive the gift of salvation. Just as the gift of salvation is by grace through faith, so are the spiritual gifts.
“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to others gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to others miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All miraculous gifts have ceased as Paul said they would. There was a time and purpose for those gifts, that being, to bring about the inspired written word and confirmation of that word by those signs and this occurred by the end of the first century. So as Paul said, those signs would cease, come to an end as they did for they fulfilled their purpose and no longer are needed.
Scaffolding is used to build a building, but once the building is completed/perfected then the scaffolding is taken away, it's not needed anymore for it fulfilled its purpose. Likewise, those signs were used to bring about the completed word which they did by the end of the first century. So like the scaffolding, they fulfilled their purpose and no longer needed.
No one today possesses any miraculous signs, only claim to possess them. 1 Cor 12:29ff even in the first century church when they had miraculous signs, not all Christians had signs...
NASB: All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?
All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?
But earnestly desire the greater gifts.
And yet, I am going to show you a far better way.
