The Calvinists eisegesis of John 6:55

Nope. Great reading comprehension skills there.
Then explain your words.

I say the same thing. We can choose to accept or reject the gospel freely. We all have the natural ability to do so.

For total depravity posits total inability while you are affirming ability contrary to the doctrine.

Were you unknowledgeable concerning the totality of total depravity?

Maybe a 4 point Calvinist :)
Many Calvinists would now reject 4 pointers from their stock

4-point Calvinism, also known as Amyraldism, is a theological position that accepts four of the five points of Calvinism while rejecting the doctrine of limited atonement.

Key Beliefs of 4-Point Calvinism

  1. Total Depravity: Humans are spiritually dead and unable to save themselves due to sin. Salvation must be initiated by God.
  2. Unconditional Election: God has chosen certain individuals for salvation without any foreseen merit or faith on their part.
  3. Irresistible Grace: When God calls the elect to salvation, they cannot resist His grace; they will inevitably come to faith.
  4. Perseverance of the Saints: Those who are truly saved will persevere in their faith and cannot lose their salvation.

In any case, how free will can be believed while believing everything that transpires was determined by God before the foundation of the earth remains a great mystery.

No independence? Interesting word choice. Independence from what? God? Freedom from what exactly God?
My choice is not dependent upon what God might want, God desires that every single person to be saved, but that doesn’t happen. We can choose to reject the call of the gospel to be saved, or we can choose to believe and accept the good news. Just like I can choose between a salad or a steak, we can choose to believe and follow Jesus or not.

To be independent is to be free to act despite the desire of someone else for you.
