No, they did not use this OT oassage to refer to Jesus. You must be relying on a bad translation.
Romans 10:13 New Living Translation
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”
This is referring to Jesus' God, YHWH. We know this because Jesus is NEVER referred to as YHWH, the capital-LORD.

"belief" doesn't get you anywhere. FAITH (Heb 11:1) is what gets 'er done. And NOBODY comes the Christ except the FATHER DRAWS THEM John 6:44.
Typically God, through the Holy Spirit CONVICTS a person of SIN and of judgement. this (being God's WORD TO YOU Rom 10:17) is the basis of your faith. IF The person then surrenders to God, Repents and calls upon God in the FAITH to Save them, then the job is done - everything changes.

God's WORD, of course. that's the OBJECT of faith, and the foundation thereof. Faith needs to have SUBSTANCE, and be an EVIDENCE. Belief (Mental assent) has neither.

And I might add that within Christendom Trinitarians are divided if one must believe in the Trinity to be saved or the deity of Christ. It’s not universal and it’s an in house debate.
Denying it is one thing but having it as a criteria at the time of salvation is another issue.

I agree but it the culmination of God's word in Christ that is the ultimate object of faith. What we believe about Him, is what matters. Jesus warned about how the Pharisees trusted the Scriptures.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me

You don't have to know ANY THEOLOGY AT ALL. All you DO KNOW is that YOU'VE SINNED and Judgement is coming, so you cry out in faith to GOD to save you from that. And he does, indwelling you with the Holy Spirit (which is how you're "Born again"). THEN you can start learning about Him, and His kingdom.
