Mark 16:16~"He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

We die(we repent).

no verse in a bible says that repenting from sin, is dying.

So, that nonsense is found in your Cult's commentary.

We are buried with Jesus(by baptism in the name of Jesus).

That is Symbolic.

if you read Acts 8, you'll find that the Eunuch wanted to be water baptized and the Apostle said...>"sure you can, if you have BELIEVED with all your HEART = FIRST"

see that Believing?

That is where "faith is counted by God', and He gives you the new birth, because you have now given God your faith in Christ.

Just like this.

Jesus said...>"ALL (not just the pre-destined) but ALL who believe in me.. (not who i forced)....I give unto you Eternal Life and you shall never go to Hell (perish)".

God resurrects us via the Holy Ghost.

God BIRTHS the believer as BORN AGAIN..

Dead faith is what a believer has,
Say what?????

A believer has "dead faith"????? How can anything dead lead to life? Are you seriously trying to say that a dead faith leads to a living soul?
and NO FAITH is what an unbeliever has.
Dead faith IS no faith at all.
James is talking about the dead faith of a BORN AGAIN... not an unbeliever.
Dead faith cannot lead to being born again. The born again have a living faith.
So, Dead faith... is the same as Jesus is referring to as being "lukewarm"..

Its not that the person is not saved, its that the person is just away from their discipleship.
James told those who have this dead faith....'"I"ll show you my FAITH, by my WORKS"..
And they have none, and that is why he said "you have dead faith".

But that is not dead salvation..... as being BORN AGAIN, is always continuing.

Also, the fact that faith can become "dead", proves that its not God's Faith, as if was God's it would not be dead.

The reason a believers faith can become dead is because they get caught up in LIFE, the world, the fun, ..... and they grow cold to spiritual things, = dead faith.

The correct word for this is "Back-slidden".
What is the result of one who is "back-slidden(??)"?
James 5:19-20 tells us clearly, "My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you strays from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that the one who has turned a sinner from the error of his way will save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins." One who was saved but falls back into sin is lost and dead and on their way to Hell. But they can be turned back by one who is still in the Light and restored to salvation if they are willing to return to repentance.

Say what?????

A believer has "dead faith"?????

Yes, James is talking to those whose faith is dead.

Let me show you some dead faith..

Lets say you are downloading porn, or you are watching Netflix "soft porn" movies, for an entire weekend.
You are binging on it.....yet you are a Christian.

Where is your faith? = Its cold as ice.. its DEAD... as you are not focused on God when you are doing that and that is why you are doing it.

"Dead faith".

So, that is how it can be to be a backslider....

And a person who has no experience with Real Christianity, and plays on forums, just to argue their cults theology.....they dont know REAL LIFE Christians who are up and down and back and forth and messed up ... or not...

Paul said that DEMAS "loved this present world" and left the ministry, and Paul never said he was a "castaway" or "lost"..
He was just a young man who was doing what some believers do. .and he probably died young, if he never turned around.
He died born again.

So, in the world of real Christianity, Christians are often very very carnal., and their faith is dead, but not their Salvation.

As you can't stop being BORN AGAIN.

Dead faith IS no faith at all.

Think. ....<

Unbelief is "No faith".

Dead faith is cold hearted toward the things of God, while being born again.

Dead faith cannot lead to being born again. The born again have a living faith.

The person already had faith, and now its dead.

If they never had faith, then they would have been an unbeliever.

Unbelievers, never born again, have NO FAITH in Christ = yet.

Believers are born again, and are supposed to be in a walk of faith, but sometimes they get away from God, BECAUSE THEIR faith becomes dead.

What is the result of one who is "back-slidden(??)"?

Hebrews 12:6 can be a result.

Dying can be a result.

Or, sometimes they turn of themselves back to God.

"repent and i'll heal your backsliding ".

Backsliding is to go away from God, while being born again, as only a Christian can be a Backslider.

save his soul from death and cover a multitude of sins."

Well to begin with..... its the SPIRIT and not the soul that is born again = Spiritually.

The Soul is the "mind , will , and emotion"... that is the soul realm, and not the Spirit.

Man is : Tri-part

Body

Soul

Spirit

Dead faith is NO faith. If one is a Christ follower, they may fall into sin through the weakness of the flesh, just as Paul said in Rom 7:14ff. If they remain repentant, and seeking God's help in fighting, avoiding, and eliminating their sin, then they remain in the Light, and are continually cleansed from those sins. But dead faith has no repentance, has no action chasing after God, and so was never in the Light to begin with.
And a person who has no experience with Real Christianity, and plays on forums, just to argue their cults theology.....they dont know REAL LIFE Christians who are up and down and back and forth and messed up ... or not...

So, in the world of real Christianity, Christians are often very very carnal., and their faith is dead, but not their Salvation.

As you can't stop being BORN AGAIN.
But you can die again. Heb 6:4-6 is very clear that there are those who became partakers of the Holy Spirit, but who have fallen away, and they crucify the Lord again and so are lost.

Unbelief is "No faith".

Unbelievers, never born again, have NO FAITH in Christ = yet.

If their faith becomes dead, so do they spiritually.
Well to begin with..... its the SPIRIT and not the soul that is born again = Spiritually.
1 Pet 1:9 - "obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls."
The Soul is the "mind , will , and emotion"... that is the soul realm, and not the Spirit.

Man is : Tri-part

Body

Soul

Spirit
No debate there. But we are reborn by the Spirit (the Holy Spirit). It is not just our spirit that is reborn. Everyone's soul dies (is separated from God) when they first sin. That soul remains dead until the person hears the Gospel, accepts it, and obeys it. That brings about the soul's rebirth in Christ (Col 2:11-14, Rom 6:1-7), and a reconnection to God. And at the Resurrection, our bodies will be new, changed, and imperishable (1 Cor 15:35-55).

Dead faith is NO faith. If one is a Christ follower,

What is a "christ follower"?

Listen, God does not save us for following Jesus.
He saves us because we "first believed".

The Following, is insignificant if the person is not born again yet as a : CHRISTIAN.

But you can die again. Heb 6:4-6

A Hebrew is a JEW, and this verse, along with chapter 10, are not talking to born again believers.
Paul is talking to unbelieving Hebrews

Notice that all the descriptions are regarding having been told the Gospel, being convicted by the Holy Spirit, being enlightened ???

Then notice that none of then have Believed and become Born again.

The next companion verse is chapter 10, and its more specific to the actual sin they are committing, as they "trod underfoot" and "do despite to the spirit of Christ"... and "Crucify Him (Jesus) Afresh).

How do you do that?

REJECT Him as you Messiah..

That is how a JEW (Hebrew in Chapter 6 and 10) are crucifying Jesus afresh. = Christ rejection.. They will not believe.

is very clear that there are those who became partakers of the Holy Spirit, but who have fallen away, and they crucify the Lord again and so are lost.

That is the "conviction of the Holy Spirit", and those people can be found in a Church in the USA.
They are being influence to believe... They have been show the truth, and yet they RESIST and wont have it.

Paul refers to these as "Stiff necked".

They are not saved, and they are being dealt with by the Holy Spirit, and they RESIST... "trod underfoot".. and do "despite to the Spirit of Grace"

They are willfully sinning.. the verse say. = Christ Rejection.

DEAD faith is NO faith.

That happens after you are born again, so, it has no significance regarding already having become "a new creation in Christ" as Born again.

So, "dead faith", happens after the Believer is already born again.

If their faith becomes dead, so do they spiritually.

Adam didnt die spiritually because he had dead faith.

Also, Faith is not the Holy Spirit.

Did Faith die on the Cross for your sin?
Did water baptism die on the Cross for sin?

So, if you meet someone that says that water is required for Salvation.. then as them.. "did water baptism or faith died on the Cross of your Sin"?

if it did then keep trusting in Water or Faith, instead of Trusting In Christ.... Reader.

So, what SAVES us is the One who Did Die on the Cross for our sin.

"Only JESUS Saves"... not water, not works, not enduring, not faith.

A.) We are not saved by faith, we are saved THROUGH Faith. "Grace through Faith".

= God accepts our FAITH....to then SAVE US, once = born again.

We are not being Born again.......we have become "a new creation in Christ"... already.. BORN AGAIN...

So that means that our faith that God needed has already been given, and that is why the person is BECOME a Son of God.

Its done.

= Born again.

So, if later they have a faith crisis, it has no relevance regarding the spiritual birth that has already happened.

You can't stop being : born again.

1 Pet 1:9 - "obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls."

Yes.

"born again" proves that you are saved.

God received our faith, and gave to the person a Spiritual Birth, that is Spiritual Union with God.

Everyone's soul dies (is separated from God) when they first sin.

Its the Spirit that is separated from God by sin.
That is why being born again Spiritually, is to be restored into Spiritual Union with God.

What is a "christ follower"?

Listen, God does not save us for following Jesus.
He saves us because we "first believed".

The Following, is insignificant if the person is not born again yet as a : CHRISTIAN.
A person is not a "Christian" if he is not a Christ follower. One does not "first believe" if one does not follow: no following equals no belief.

We are saved because of our faith, and faith is not real or effective in bringing salvation to us if it is passive, inactive, or "mental only".
A Hebrew is a JEW, and this verse, along with chapter 10, are not talking to born again believers.
Paul is talking to unbelieving Hebrews

Notice that all the descriptions are regarding having been told the Gospel, being convicted by the Holy Spirit, being enlightened ???

Again, there is no Jew or Gentile in the NT Church. Both are one, for there is only one body.
If one has become a "partaker of the Holy Spirit" then one has to have believed and been born again, for the Holy Spirit does not indwell those who are not born again.
Yes, they are denying Him again, but that is after they had accepted Him in the first place.
That happens after you are born again, so, it has no significance regarding already having become "a new creation in Christ" as Born again.

So, "dead faith", happens after the Believer is already born again.
Dead faith is no faith at all. Even if you once did have faith, if it has died then you have not "endured to the end", and will not receive the crown of Life.
Adam didnt die spiritually because he had dead faith.
Adam died spiritually because he sinned, as do we. We receive new life through faith, but not a nonexistent (dead) faith.
Also, Faith is not the Holy Spirit.

Did Faith die on the Cross for your sin?
Did water baptism die on the Cross for sin?
Did peanut butter die on the cross for your sin? What ridiculousness.
Faith is not THE Holy Spirit or Christ.
Faith is IN Christ Jesus.
Faith is manifest (made perfect, completed by) our obedience of the one we would have be our LORD. If we do not obey Him, then He is not our Lord, and if He is not our Lord then He cannot be our savior.
He said, "Repent and be baptized for (in order to receive) forgiveness of sins." Repentance and baptism are conditions for the reception of forgiveness of sins. They constitute "acts of faith" that result in forgiveness of sins.
A.) We are not saved by faith, we are saved THROUGH Faith. "Grace through Faith".

= God accepts our FAITH....to then SAVE US, once = born again.
God accepts or faith (repentance, confession of Jesus as Lord, and baptism) to then save us by cutting our sin from us (Col 2:11-14) and giving us new life in Christ (Rom 6:1-7).

But you can die again!

I don't know that I've ever heard such a long teaching as RB's on Mark 16:16, and yet even with all that, it's still clear as mud. Not to mention that his premise is wrong - he says that no scripture is of any private interpretation, which itself is a misinterpretation of 2 Peter 1:20 "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, ..."
Peter clearly explains what he means in the next verse: "for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."
So Peter is verse 20 is not forbidding each Christian from coming up with his own conclusions or interpretation when reading the scripture. He's not even talking about that. What he is saying is that the word of God itself came into existence by the spoken word of men who were moved by the Holy Spirit. It did not originate solely in the minds of men.
In fact, after hundreds, maybe thousands of words of telling us that only scripture can interpret itself, RB appears to give us his own private interpretation! Yet even that was unclear, at least to me.

Imagine if it said, "He who has believed and gives to the poor shall be saved." Well, since the rest of the New Testament makes it very clear that the only requirement to be saved is to believe in Jesus, and the first half of the sentence fulfills that, then yes, this statement is true.
We cannot assume that it is saying that BOTH believing and giving to the poor are required in order to be saved.

What if it said, "He who has believed and does not give to the poor shall be saved?" Would this be a true statement? Yes, because salvation does not depend on whether we give to the poor or not, even though we should. But it rests on whether we believe in Jesus or not.

The same is true of baptism: If it said, "He who has believed and is not baptized shall be saved?" Would this also be a true statement? Of course it would, because salvation does not depend on baptism, even though we should obey Jesus and get baptized. But it depends on whether we believe in Jesus or not.

Obviously if the second half of the sentence is an evil act, then that person has not truly believed in Jesus.

op: Mark 16:16?
Now, let me get this straight:

When I heard and believed The Gospel Of Grace Of The Grace Of God, I had a
"dead faith" for a couple of years until I was enlightened by a 'preacher' of an in-law
(with whom I went to visit to "share my faith with") that "water baptism" was required
for my "two year DEAD faith" to be changed into a LIVING faith?

Sound about right?

Acts 3:19–20 (ESV) — 19 Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,

repentance brings remission of sin and life

Acts 11:18 (ESV) — 18 When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

Water baptism is a sign of the cleanliness accomplished by repentance

Why do you mix scriptures as though they were one context

Acts 2:38 (NASB 2020) — 38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 6:4–7 (NASB 2020) — 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; 7 for the one who has died is freed from sin. 8 Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

There is no baptism into water in Romans 6

There is a baptism into Christ, into his death

This is a real union with Christ not effected by water

What makes you imagine water is capable of destroying the old nature

We are buried with Christ by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead … even so we also should walk in newness of life." That Paul is not speaking of water baptism, however, but of the spiritual reality it symbolizes, is clear, for he says that through baptism "our old man sinful nature is crucified with him Christ, that the body of sin might be destroyed." As a consequence, he urges believers to reckon" themselves " to be dead indeed unto sin … . Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body" (vv 6-13)

I can accept Acts 2:38 as a true statement without falsifying it

You however must deny many verses to affirm your cannot be saved without water baptism theology

examples

When did these pass from death to life

John 5:24 (NASB 2020) — 24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

Acts 11:15–18 (NASB 2020) — 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as He did upon us at the beginning. 16 And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 Therefore, if God gave them the same gift as He also gave to us after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” 18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has also granted to the Gentiles the repentance that leads to life.”

What did John say would bring life?

John 20:31 (NASB 2020) — 31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that by believing you may have life in His name.

A person is not a "Christian" if he is not a Christ follower.

Being "born again" is how you become a CHRISTian.

You do that before you "follow".. @Doug Brents

We are saved because of our faith,

We are initially given Salvation as "Grace THROUGH faith".

Faith is not the Savior.

God is the Savior who saves TROUGH the finished work of Jesus on the Cross.

Do not put your faith in faith.
Put your faith in Christ.

Again, there is no Jew or Gentile in the NT Church. Both are one, for there is only one body.

That's the Bride of Christ, in the "time of the Gentiles".

If one has become a "partaker of the Holy Spirit"

Have you ever been to a mainline denomination Protestant church?
Not the "cult of mary"...

So, lets say a Baptist church.
The Pastor will give an "alter call".

He will take time to allow the Holy Spirit to deal with the congregation and that is when this is specifically happening......

= Jesus said.. "If i be lifted up (on the Cross)... I will DRAW... ALL... people to me".

See that "Draw? That is to partake of the Holy Spirit, that is the "conviction of the Holy Spirit"...

So, none of the JEWS (Hebrews) in Chapter 6 or 10 are defined as "Church" or "Bride" or "Brethren" or "Saved", or "Sons of God".

And that is because they are HEBREWS, who are rejecting their messiah.

If you want to see this more clearly, then read ....ACTS 28:28, as that is Hebrews Chapters 6 and 10.

Yes, they are denying Him again, but that is after they had accepted Him in the first place.

They didnt.
And that is why Paul told them..."there remains no more Sacrifice for you".. as if you reject the only, then you die unforgiven.

So, what Hebrews 6&10 show you, is a group of Christ hating Jews, who are rejecting their Messiah. = "willfully sinning".
Paul likens them to "same as your Father's did', when they stood there in front of the Cross of Christ and said....>"come on down if you are the Messiah".

Dead faith is no faith at all.

Salvation is completed when you "first believe", as you receive the "Gift of Salvation".

Later, if you become a Calvinist, or a Mormon, or a JW, or a "cult of Mary" then you are deceived by them, and you'll end up with ruined faith.
You'll believe that water saves you, or some other theological ignorance that denies Jesus.

However if you were born again, your FAITH issue, can't undo the New Birth.

Adam died spiritually because he sinned, as do we.

We are born with a sin nature.
Adam didnt have one to begin with, but we do.

Faith is manifest (made perfect, completed by

Lets just stay with Salvation, as that was finished by Jesus on the Cross, and proven by His Resurrection.

That is why He said from the Cross... "IT is finished".

A.) "IT" is Salvation.

John 3:16 is the invitation to come and receive "IT".

you can be water baptized 345 times in a year and not once is that water going to wash away your sin.

Luke 24:47 (ESV) — 47 and that repentance for the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

Acts 10:43 (ESV) — 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

Acts 5:31 (ESV) — 31 God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

2 Corinthians 7:10 (ESV) — 10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

I can accept Acts 2:38 as a true statement without falsifying it

You however must deny many verses to affirm your cannot be saved without water baptism theology

examples

When did these pass from death to life

John 5:24 (NASB 2020) — 24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

these

Cherry pickin' Acts skipper.

Good Catholic.

That is symbolic.

you can be water baptized and be an unbeliever.

you can be water baptized 345 times in a year and not once is that water going to wash away your sin.

Sin is in your heart, and water only touches your body.... @Truther

See Christ on the Cross for the Update regarding why the city water supply is not your savior. @Truther
So, you think unbelievers get baptized?

Not even a mustard seed faith involved?

Is there a faith meter you fellers use to qualify folks?

You have no access to water to bathe?

Are you out in the desert posting on Star Link?

From where we come from, water has always been around.

All other humanity can vouch for that.
