Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23 KJV

Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling place with him. John 14:23 NHEB

I think we can see how Calvinists get things wrong. John 14:23 says, God coming to a person making his abode or dwelling place they must love him first and keep his word. I believe that means believe in your heart and confess the Lordship over one's life then God comes into them. Calvinists have this reverse. He comes into them first and makes his abode within them and then they'll love him or you can't love God before he comes in. Total depravity as Calvinists consider it wouldn't allow such. Error I believe on their part.

We love Him because He first loved us.

We love Him because He first loved us.
we believe God always acts first and man has the choice and ability to respond. grace always precedes in the salvation process when God calls and draws a person through the gospel message. faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. How shall they believe unless someone is sent ?

Romans 10- How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!

So you believe and then call?

You're forgetting a main key thing. He said it's after you chose to love God and keep his word that is by repenting that he comes and makes his abode in us. Calvinism has him making his abode in them before they do this.

Were talking about love not making your abode.

Yes love is the beginning of the relationship. We hear the gospel which is God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever BELIEVES in Him will have eternal life. Love is connected with belief, eternal life, God dwelling in us etc.....

Those who receive revelation and believe, yet others receive revelation and do not believe though receiving the same revelation.
ditto belief and unbelief are the keys to rightly dividing the word of truth. :). It's really just that simple.
