Irresistible Grace

Grace is the effectual working of Gods Power,
Grace is an action of God which he didn’t have to do for those who did not deserve for it to be done. It is not necessarily completely effectual, for man can resist and reject God’s extension of salvation toward him. The offer by God cannot be stopped, but him leading us to water doesn’t mean that it must be drunk!

it made Paul a Apostle against his will.
God seeks to convince us to change our will; he does not make us do what we don’t want to do! Paul was convinced by the evidence of God’s argument to him that he was on the wrong side of the equation.

Paul was in the course of hate and murdering of believers when Sovereign Grace effectually made him a believer/apostle of Jesus Christ. Eph 3:7 You are denying the irresistible power of God
Paul said his ministry was to “try to persuade others” (2Cor 5:11), not to wait for God to irresistibly cause them to believe against their will.

How can one deny or resist the irresistible power of God? Hmmm….

Eph 3:7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. (NIV)

Literal translation: of which a servant by the gift of God’s grace by the energetic working of his power

Which Greek word means “effectual”? You are 1) reading a meaning into the words that is not there. And 2) applying that meaning as a necessary absolute for all situations.

Yep still had to be made a believer unto that end, Grace did that. In being made a servant he was made a believer. His being a servant required him being a believer.

Not against his will.

Yes it was actually, when Grace and Power changed him, he was in the course of unbelief and hate towards Christ and the Saints. But Grace/Power made him willing Ps 110:3

Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power,
in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning:
thou hast the dew of thy youth.

Paul had no choice but to become a Believer/Apostle, God had already ordained work for him to do Eph 2:10

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

And so it is with everyone He died for , they will be made a believer BY GRACE

Ephesians 3:7 (NASB 95) — 7 of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of God’s grace which was given to me according to the working of His power.

The gift here is ministry.

The verse says nothing whatsoever about your belief in unconditional election to salvation.

Grace is the Gift. And its effectual power. Rom 5 15

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Paul testified of Grace abounding to him 1 Tim 1

13 who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus

That Grace gave Paul both Faith and Love for Christ, when just moments earlier he was full of hate and unbelief

Im afraid you know nothing of Grace friend, thats from false teaching

1 Timothy 1:14–16 (NASB 95) — 14 and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus. 15 It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. 16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.

It's the faith of man that God blesses with eternal life

The gift is the indwelling of the Spirit and eternal life for those who believe.

Ps 110:3Your troops will be willing
on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor,
your young men will come to you
like dew from the morning’s womb.

The Hebrew for “willing” is neh-dah-VAH, which means “to volunteer”. It doesn’t mean “made to volunteer against your will” for that would be a contradiction of terms.

I know what the hebrew is. Grace is the effectual working of Gods Power which makes believers like it made Paul a believer

Then why do you keep on insisting on a definition that is opposite of what the scripture says! There has to be a free will decision to be a true volunteer!

Im insisting that Grace is irresistible when it comes to Salvation, its Gods Power and it converts unto God, gives Faith in Christ Eph 3:7

: 7 whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

The word made γίνομαι:

  1. to become, i.e. to come into existence, begin to be, receive being
  2. to become, i.e. to come to pass, happen
    1. of events
  3. to arise, appear in history, come upon the stage
    1. of men appearing in public
  4. to be made, finished
    1. of miracles, to be performed, wrought
  5. to become, be made
It means to cause to be or generate.

Thats what Grace does, it brings into existence.

Paul couldnt stop that from happening, it made him a new creature willing to believe in a serve Christ.

And so it is with all who believe on Christ 1 Tim 1:16

16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Thhe same powerful grace that converted saul to Paul converts all that believe on Him to life everlasting.

Grace is irresistible in Salvation, its the effectual power of God Eph 3:7

: 7 whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power

Do you believe man can resist the effectual working of Gods Power ?

The power to salvation is in the gospel

John 20:31 (NASB 95) — 31 but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

Romans 10:17 (LEB) — 17 Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word about Christ.

2 Timothy 3:15 (LEB) — 15 and that from childhood you have known the holy writings that are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NASB 95) — 13 For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.

Romans 10:6–14 (NASB 95) — 6 But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows: “DO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, ‘WHO WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN?’ (that is, to bring Christ down), 7 or ‘WHO WILL DESCEND INTO THE ABYSS?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).” 8 But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; 13 for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” 14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?

Romans 1:16 (NASB 95) — 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
