Of course!! By HIS will and none of our own will, choice, decision or acceptance!!!It is Gods will that all come to repentance.
Of course!! By HIS will and none of our own will, choice, decision or acceptance!!!It is Gods will that all come to repentance.
Nope, the quote says it is HIS desire all repent and be saved but sinning the unforgivable sin puts one outside of HIS desire and HIS will...except for the fulfillment of their condemnation, Jn 3:18...It is Gods will that all come to repentance.
Boasting includes the merest iota of any claim that we were involved in our own salvation by anything we may have done!!!!Accepting someone salvation is not somethign we can boast in, unless we worked ourself
An act of grace and none of your own will nor decision nor choice.until I finally called out..
Is a lack of faith or belief a sin that would have been taken away at the cross? Is it the exception?Your faith. As in "We walk by Faith and not by sight" "And without faith it is impossible to please God."
Why? It's all been taken away. If you owe nothing then on what basis are you held accountable for anything?Nothing
I have to freely receive what he offers
Or reject what he offers
My opinion. Is a lack of faith or belief a sin that would have been taken away at the cross? Is it the exception?
I would say they are given to the Son to have faith since I believe faith is a gift of GodMy opinion.
NO
For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that who so ever believe in him yada yada yada............
God gave Jesus to the world. Plain and Simple. But with the stipulation that in order to receive the gift of eternal life and the forgiveness of ones sins one has/had to believe ( faith) in Him, Jesus.
As is said. Without faith... that would be in Jesus.... it is impossible to please God.
Jesus said that John.... 6:37.“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out.
Hey, before I go on has it occurred to anyone that we are covering a heck of a lot of John recently??????????
Anyway... Do YOU for one minute think that God, the Heavenly Father would give to Jesus anyone that that did not have faith in Him.... especially when it is written that "without faith it is impossible to please God?"
You see... as we are told in the bible, and especially back when Jesus walked the earth.... it is all laid out and it is up to each one to decide, BY THEIR OWN FREE WILL, if they will believe or not.
Those on the fence... those luke warm.... are not going to make it.
Rev 3 :15 says
The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, Origin of the creation of God, says this:
15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
The offer is on the table for everyone, but you MUST choose .
That is why the very idea of predestination does not fit through out the entire bible, just in a few areas.
If our heavenly Father predestines the "elect" as it is presented by many here, He would not have to give any to Jesus because
they would automatically be His followers.
or you do?Then you misinterpret what HE has said...
yet we must chose this day who we will followOf course!! By HIS will and none of our own will, choice, decision or acceptance!!!
yesNope, the quote says it is HIS desire all repent and be saved but sinning the unforgivable sin puts one outside of HIS desire and HIS will...except for the fulfillment of their condemnation, Jn 3:18...
but I was not involved in my salvationBoasting includes the merest iota of any claim that we were involved in our own salvation by anything we may have done!!!!
wrongAn act of grace and none of your own will nor decision nor choice.
I wont argue this as I am certain you are wrong. But I will state my beliefs with scripture.I would say they are given to the Son to have faith since I believe faith is a gift of God
When was our will taken away from us? Please post the book, chapter and verse.Of course!! By HIS will and none of our own will, choice, decision or acceptance!!!
Where does the bible say Jesus paid for every sin except unbelief ?yes
he who does not believe is condemned already
Jesus paid for every sin but unbelief.
ditto salvation is the gift.I wont argue this as I am certain you are wrong. But I will state my beliefs with scripture.
I believe the Gift of God is salvation in Jesus Christ
Let us call on John again.... 1 John 5:11–12
11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
12 He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
You cannot be clearer then this. It is not faith that is the gift. Faith is needed but the gift is eternal life.
It is a gift because we can’t earn it, nor do we deserve it
You know the verse we all know Ephesians 2:8–9.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Everyone always says the gift is faith. ..... This clearly states that the gift is being save if you have the faith required.
The gift of God is a new life sourced and supplied by the Holy Spirit
John 6:63 again tells us It is the Spirit who gives life;
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
The gift of God is the soul-sustaining living water of eternal life, and it is ours in Jesus Christ through the gift of the Holy Spirit. What an indescribable gift!
all manner of sin and blasphemy is forgiven all menWhere does the bible say Jesus paid for every sin except unbelief ?
believers walk/live in unbelief all of the time, so did the disciples while living with Jesus for 3 years.all manner of sin and blasphemy is forgiven all men
Jesus said whoever does not believe is condemned. If unbelief is the fact of condemnation, and not sin. then all sin must have been paid.
John the Baptist also said behold the lamb of God. who takes the sin of the world..
Does this count?Where does the bible say Jesus paid for every sin except unbelief ?
