God is Good all the time !

Nope God only has one will which was determined before creation and that everything occurs in the universe by His will, His choosing, His decree, His predestination, His Sovereignty, His election, the damning of the lost and the salvation of the chosen ones. etc..............

Calvinism 101. I usually have to remind calvinists what calvinism teaches.

The Bible never mentions God has 2 wills. Its man made theology at work.

Viva Sola Scriptura !!!!
Where does it say God has only one will?

Remind me where it says that

When my question is addresses.

I would also point out even the Provisionist must believe in two wills.
That is a claim you do not support

Show provisionism supports a secret will contrary to his revealed will as does Calvinism

Your question was not addressed to me, but my question was addressed to you, and you appear to be avoiding it.

So do most theologians.

Perscriptive will: relates to the rule of duty to His rational creatures.

Descriptive will: concerns His purpose and relates to the fruition of events.
Please stop having your theology bounce around like jelly pulling out new unknown terms like a rabbit out of a hat.

You tried to get out of your dilemma by saying something weird about a descriptive will? In the name of sanity please be CLEAR about what you're saying! So you utter forth that a prescriptive will relates to his duty to rational creatures but you've said he's saddened and grieved that men won't obey......well how can that now be defined that it was not his real and genuine will for them to obey him??

The Bible says God wishes all come unto the knowledge of the truth. Yet He created a world where that is never going to happen purposely.

It doesn't specifically. It's arrived at by good and necessary inference.

Unknown terms? LOL I suggest you educate yourself.

Enlighten us then please. How can he be grieved and saddened and not to have it been his will not to be. If he's grieved and saddened which you have admitted he can be then wouldn't such mean he's not pleased and his good pleasure or will is not being carried out? Your turn.

Did that already. I defined both.

The more I studied this word in the Bible, the more one central concept seemed to jump out: God’s goodness conveys His generosity. His goodness means far more than His generosity, but it certainly includes His infinitely generous attitude toward us. By nature, He longs to bring joy and blessing to all His creatures.

The Bible repeatedly presents goodness as a core quality of our Lord, and I wanted to share just 23 of those occasions. These 23 verses point you to the goodness of our God and what it means for our lives.

The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth. Exodus 34:6

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34

And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, for His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Ezra 3:11

Good and upright is the Lord. Psalm 25:8

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:6

The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works. Psalm 145:9

No one is good but One, that is, God. Mark 10:18

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! Matthew 7:11

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13

I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness. Psalm 145:5-7

He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord. Psalm 33:5

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Psalm 34:8

Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting. Psalm 100:4-5

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. Psalm 107:8-9

As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. Psalm 103:13-14

Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Psalm 143:10

The Lord is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. Psalm 92:15

You are good, and do good; teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119:68

You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, and did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst. Nehemiah 9:20

Hear me, O Lord, for Your lovingkindness is good; turn to me according to the multitude of Your tender mercies. Psalm 69:16

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him. Nahum 1:7

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues. Psalm 31:19-20

Amen just like God is love all the time :)

Hello @civic,

Matt. 19:17; Mark 10:18; & Luke 18:19 record the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, '... there is none good but One, that is God.'

When starting on a study this week, my first reference took me to Deuteronomy 6, and almost immediately it was the superintending love and goodness of God that became apparent to me. The commandments were given to the children of Israel for their protection, and their welfare, as well as for the glory of God among the nations through whom they passed on their wilderness wandering. Hypothetical situations are considered, warnings and instruction given for each, (e.g., 6:10-15). For God is a righteous God, dealing with human beings who were far from being so. They needed protection from Him, for He is Holy, Righteous and True, which necessitated the establishing of the commandments, that they may not injure His holiness and bring down His anger upon them.

- The first hypothetical situation presented, was that they should 'forget Him'.
- They doubted His presence with them and His superintending care of them at Meribah, thereby tempting Him.

Reading through these Old Testament passages makes me so grateful that God has placed me, 'in Christ'. For in Him, I am covered over with His righteousness, and have peace with God. No fear, only the awareness of His loving-kindness, because of the all sufficient sacrifice of Christ on my behalf.

'And all things are of God,
Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them;
and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.'

(2Cor, 5:18-19)

Praise God!

In Christ Jesus
