Are we Predestined?

This proves without a shadow of doubt that some have been predestinated to Salvation!
I agree!!

I disagree that this implies that HE did NOT predestine everyone to salvation without reason...ie, unconditional election. I believe HE had a conditional reason for both electing some and condemning others and that reason was their / our free will acceptance or rejection of HIS proclamation of HIS deity and the gospel of salvation, Col 1:23, which we all heard and responded to in our own way by faith, not proof.

Unconditional election implies unconditional reprobation (non-election) which blasphemes HIS nature as loving, righteous and just.

you missed this- so many who claim to be predestined look nothing like Jesus, act nothing like Jesus and love sin and are unforgiving, uncompassionate, unmerciful etc.....

to be conformed to the image of his Son,
Ahhh, if only it took claiming to be conformed to in fact create conformity, we'd all be saved...:(

Its nice of you to allow Him to plan and predetermine the second coming. Where do we find the rules for what He can and cannot plan and predetermine?
no rules I just believe the things written that are predetermined are so such as what is prophecied to occur such as the flood, David becoming King, destruction of the temple, His1st Coming, His death, His resurrection, His 2nd Coming, things concerning the nation of Israel, the future millennial kingdom etc.....

I was asking for your rules. The source if you will. What can God predetermine and not determine to occur according to you?

Wrong! Those whom he foreknew would believe, he predestined them to be conformed to the laws mage of his son.

You must believe before you can be conformed.

To foreknow are components with election and to predestine . the word foreknow proginōskō:
to have knowledge before hand

to foreknow

of those whom God elected to salvation
  1. to predestinate

This emphasis is the eternal phase of salvation

Also foreknow would be Gods forelove of the person, nothing in the sequence Rom 8:29-30 is anything about what the sinner does. Everything is Gods active action.

Of course I disagree with you

Predestinated to Salvation!

Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Now those He foreknew [His Elect] them He predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, hence they were predestinated to the Adoption of Sons Eph 1:4-5

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Now in being predestinated to the image of Christ, we must be conformed to Him in spiritual qualities and principles and the frame of our hearts! All of which means, we must be saved from the penalty and power of sin and be glorified.

All this has been predestinated from before the foundation, not to all mankind, but solely to Gods Chosen, Chosen in Christ before the foundation Eph 1:4-5.

So that's how we know that some men have been Chosen and Predestinated to Salvation!

No being conformed to His image is be holy for I am holy saith the Lord. Without holiness no one will see the Lord

Foreknowledge has nothing to do with election/salvation per se; God can know in advance that something will happen without predetermining it.

It simply means that God foresees those who will believe, and when they actually do he begins to conform us to the image of his son.

Okay Doug. Your clearly not going to address my points or answer my question. Have a great holiday sir.
I don’t think you have a point! You said God didn’t do anything for those he foresees going to hell, but he did: He sent Christ to die for their sins, but they did not believe, thus they end up in hell.

For what purpose?

Its not just they did not believe. They will NEVER believe. God has known this for an eternity. So what is He exactly doing for them again??

What God can and cannot predetermine is built within the rules of His nature, and libertarianly decided within the bounds of that nature.
What are the rules of His nature? Explain how the determine what He can and cannot predetermine. Sounds like your making things up as you go.
