"I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you

YOU do not know everything they were told. ergo. you are not his friend .

He is, however, my brother.

Christians that follow Jesus’ teachings, even after his death, are still servants to the Master and are his spiritual brothers and sisters; we have been adopted into the family of God and will also help rule with our King forever.
Adoption is God’s remedy for a specific situation. It actually meets our need for a new family, and its justification meets our need for a new legal status. The Bible teaches that, because of sin, we have all been children of the devil. But by faith, Jesus gives us authority to become sons and daughters of God. Through Jesus, God allows us to become his people by adoption. It is an honor to call Jesus our brother and share the blessings that the Father gives to his son.7

We have no need to add to the Holy Scriptures, but you often leave part off such as the rest of Mark 13:37 "Be on the alert!" which is understandable so you can twist the meaning for your needs. SAD

There you go again, interpreting Holy Scripture according to your free-will power instead of the Power of God (1 Corinthians 1:24). This post is continued from post #6,420. We Christians believe Lord Jesus Christ makes our Father known to us Christians, so we are His friends, just as my Savior Jesus says "I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you" (John 15:15-16). I thank Lord Jesus for choosing me to be His friend because I am weak but He is strong!

You have made it very clear with your amplification of "John 15:16 WAS NEVER MEANT FOR ALL PEOPLE" that you deny being a friend of Lord Jesus because you self-willingly exclude yourself from "I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you" (John 15:15-16) as recorded in post #6,407.

Your denial of being Christ's friend means that you are Christ's enemy.

You vehemently believe that you are not a friend of Jesus thus making yourself an enemy of Jesus because your "John 15 have nothing to do with you or me" (proof post #6,395) thus you self-willingly exclude yourself from "I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you" (John 15:15-16). I reject your "John 15 have nothing to do with you or me".

The Word of God issues these wonderful blessings to all believers in all time:
  • "you did not choose Me, but I chose you" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:16), so God chooses people to be friends (John 15:15, the prior verse) and to believe (John 6:29) and to be born again (John 3:3-8) and for righteous works (John 3:21, John 15:5) and to repent (Matthew 11:25) and to love (John 13:34) and unto salvation (John 15:19 the same passage).
  • "I chose you out of the world" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:19, includes salvation), so God exclusively chooses people unto salvation.
  • "What I say to you I say to all" (Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 13:37 - Jesus had taken the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John aside in private and said this), so all the blessings of God mentioned above are to all believers in all time.
And I am forevermore thankful to Lord Jesus Christ!

The only way for free-willian philosophers to acheive free-will is for them to add to the Word of God, and it is written "do not add to His words or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar" (Proverbs 30:6).

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men leading to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE MY DELIVERER!!!

As a blessed Christian, I believe in and follow Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Truth (John 14:6), so you calling me a follower of "fatalism" means that you are calling my Leader Jesus your wicked "datal", a.k.a. "death", and no Christian applies death to Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ is Life!

This post is also to @3dognight and @MTMattie since you Like calling Jesus your "death".

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men that leads to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

no death of Christ no life n Him- its as simple as that.

The Word of God issues these wonderful blessings to all believers in all time:

This is where you err. Yes Jesus said these things but he was not talking to all or about all. Only to a select few.

This...
  • "What I say to you I say to all" (Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 13:37 - Jesus had taken the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John aside in private and said this), so all the blessings of God mentioned above are to all believers in all time WHAT IS IT ABOUT PRIVATE DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND. Jesus was instructing and directing those who would teach but we were not told in the Holy Bible everything they were told.

YOU are the one who adds to the word of God things not said but assumed.... the very same way the world has added to Jeremiah 1:5 because it is clear that only Jeremiah was being spoken to not everyone... He was PICKED by GOD to be a prophet, yet how many times have you heard
John Q public say God knew me before I was born. and then will quote Jeremiah or Psalm 139 which was about David.

Yes God pre-selects, pre-chooses, pre-determines SOME but not all. HE needs those who will do what it is that he needs to have done.
NOT everyone.

Do you think God Predetermined my neighbors daughter to be born with spina bifida AND cerebral palsy? I dont.

Do you think that God Predetermined that illegal who raped and killed Laken Riley to do that, or that she would be the one he would get? I dont

But I do think he placed the current POYUS in office to offset the likes of the 2nd one mentioned because someone here is needed.

Why can you not understand that?

WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF? I came out of your belief system. And I have never felt so loved.

yes the Son sets us free from fatalism, its chains of bondage, the dark prison cell, the yoke of its slavery- whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Amen !!!!

You're funny. Or you would be if it weren't for the abject arrogance being displayed.

Your writing there fails to address when you wrote "your attempt to define sin in the absence of free will is complete and total nonsense. Obedience is a choice -- PERIOD" (proof post #6,380), yet my brother Paul wrote "So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:12-13); therefore, your heart's treasure (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) credits man's obedience to the freewill choosing by man, but the Apostle Paul wisely credits man's obedience to the Sovereignty of God.

You and @3dognight (because of your heartfelt "Like" of Jim's writing) believe you are the self-willed (2 Peter 2:9-10) source of obedience to Christ even though both Lord Jesus Christ (John 3:21) and the Apostle Paul (Philippians 2:13) assign we Christian's obedience exclusively to God.

You eyes do not see the Word of God whom God caused me to quote to you - you wrote 'in your case that "God caused me....". And with that I say to you that God told me to disregard any and all of that as complete and total nonsense' (proof post #6,380).

The Natural Is The First State Of Being For All Mere Mortals - Sin By Default

The Apostle Paul identifies every man starts out as a natural man with "the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual" (1 Corinthians 15:46).

The Apostle Paul states that man is accountable to God for man's own sin against God with "[b}since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse[/b]" (Romans 1:20).

The Apostle Paul includes even the Gentiles in the Law "For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves" (Romans 2:14).

The Apostle Paul states that man is accountable to God for man's own crime against God with "we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law [comes] the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:19-20).

The Apostle Paul explains that the commands of God are foolishness to man with a "natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (1 Corinthians 2:14)

The Apostle Paul declares that man's flesh opposes the Spirit of God with "the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another" (Galatians 5:17).

The Apostle Paul declares that man's flesh is hostile against God and the flesh cannot please God with "the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able [to do so], and those who are in the flesh cannot please God" (Romans 8:7-8).

THE FIRST STATE OF MAN IS OPPOSITION TO GOD, AND THE ONLY WAY (JOHN 14:6) FOR MAN'S SALVATION IS FOR GOD TO BIRTH MAN ANEW (JOHN 3:2-8), NOT A WORK OF A CHOICE BY MAN, BUT STRICTLY THE WORK OF GOD IN MAN (JOHN 6:29).

You believe you buy your way into heaven with your natural fleshly free-will faith payment in your "apart from Christ, I chose to believe Christ so Christ must profit me with salvation", yet the Christ of us Christians declares "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5) and "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) and “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are Life” (John 6:63), so you believe falsehood (2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 2:9-10).

Sin is the default nature of man, and free-will exists not.

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF THE FAITH!!!

the fallen man who thinks he reads the hearts and minds of people he has never met. the arrogance ,pride/ego and audacity to take on the role of Christ and the Holy Spirit and pretend you are Them.

now carry on with your evil doctrine of fatalism.

@civic, @Jim's writings reveals his heart's treasure (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21), and so it goes with you, as well.

"Are you still lacking in understanding also? Do you not understand that everything that goes into the mouth passes into the stomach, and is eliminated? But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders." (The Word of God, Matthew 15:16-19) as well as "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (The Word of God, Matthew 6:21).

I have quoted my loving King who causes me to proclaim the Word of God via Fruit of the Holy Spirit with “he who practices the Truth comes to the Light, that his works may be revealed, that they are having been worked in God” (John 3:21), yet YOU BLASPHEME THE HOLY SPIRIT of the Living God and King Jesus of the Kingdom of God with your heart’s profane "to take on the role of Christ and the Holy Spirit and pretend you are Them" and, on the same count, you bear false witness against me.

I'll quote you in relation to you.

YIKES.........................

Your heart didn't stop there, no, you dig even deeper into your pit of evil.

As a blessed Christian, I believe in and follow Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Truth (John 14:6), so you calling me a follower of "fatalism" means that you are calling my Leader Jesus your wicked "Fatal", a.k.a. Jim, your words represent your thoughts as shown to you previously, and @civic this concept applies to you, too, as recorded in reference post #6,429).

Yes, I indicated that verse 3 and verse 5 are essentially saying the same thing. But I did not say, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before one is born again he can see the Kingdom of God". Not only did I not say it, I don't even believe it.

So, you lied. And quite frankly I have come to expect that of you. That seems to be an MO for you.

I interpret your words in order to arrive at a conclusion, and this conclusion faithfully depicts your words, and I do this by God working my will (Philippians 2:13) for God's glory.

You interpret Jesus Christ's words in order to arrive at a conclusion, and your conclusion unfaithfully depicts Jesus Christ's words, and you do this by your self-will (2 Peter 2:9-10) for man's glory.

And, the following proves both these premises since a key component of your Free-willian Philosophy is your foundation of "apart from Christ, I chose Christ so Christ must give salvation to me".

The wonderful exchange between Jesus and Nicodemus with context follows. The true Lord Jesus declares that a person cannot righteously perceive King Jesus of the Kingdom of God without God birthing the person anew in the exchange:
Speaker Holy Scripture Summary
Nicodemus: "Rabbi, we see that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” (John 3:2) I perceive that God sent you, Teacher, for the signs you do are because God is with you!
Lord Jesus: "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born from above he cannot see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3) One perceives Me because of the exclusive work of God inside of such a one
Nicodemus: "How can someone be born when they are old?" "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!" (John 3:4) How can I enter into this communion with God without me working in some way? Please help me understand.
Lord Jesus: Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above.’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:5-8) One enters into communion with God because of the Holy Spirit. One knows not when nor how nor why the Holy Spirit works in this person here or that person there.

As the Holy Spirit makes abundantly clear, the context of John 3:2-3 is "see" as in "perceive", and the context of John 3:4-8 is "enter" as in "ingress".

Your modus operandi is to adulterate the Word of God because you call Lord Jesus your liar with your 'The "see" in verse 3 and the enter in verse 5 both speak of the same thing' (proof post #6,345) words there, Jim, which results in your traditions of men on the left side below while the righteous side expresses divine right:

"Death", and no Christian applies Death to Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ is Life!

PRAISE OUR CHRISTIAN'S LIVING GOD, JESUS CHRIST!!!
your writings reveals your heart as the accuser of the brethren.

This is where you err. Yes Jesus said these things but he was not talking to all or about all. Only to a select few.

This...
"What I say to you I say to all" (Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 13:37 - Jesus had taken the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John aside in private and said this), so all the blessings of God mentioned above are to all believers in all time . Jesus was instructing and directing those who would teach but we were not told in the Holy Bible everything they were told.

When Lord Jesus Christ says "What I say to you I say to all" (Mark 13:37) in private conversation to the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John, then the Christ integrates all Christ's disciples in all time in the blessings of Christ issued in private and non-private conversations with the Apostles including "you did not choose Me, but I chose you" (John 15:16) and [*]"I chose you out of the world" (John 15:19, includes salvation). You lack understanding about Christ opening private into public because of your "WHAT IS IT ABOUT PRIVATE DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND".

@civic, this post is equally to you due to your Like of MTMattie's post.

Your accusation without evidence is you bearing false witness about me.

God has me here discussing that man does not choose Lord Jesus Christ. You quoted no Word of God that indicates man was imparted free-will. Largely, I use free-will to mean man choosing toward God, emphatically Lord Jesus Christ.

WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF? I came out of your belief system. And I have never felt so loved.

Hold on, your "I came out of your belief system" is false because you were never of the Faith for the Apostle John declared "they went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us" (1 John 2:19) and the Good Pastor says of us His sheep “I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:28).

I had never known true love until God blessed me with knowing God's love (1 John 4:7), and I have felt so deeply loved ever since!

Love created inside of me understanding of "when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life" (Romans 5:10).

Do you understand this?

1 Corinthians 10

Warning against Idolatry
101 For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. 2 They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. 3 They all ate the same spiritual food 4 and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. 5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

6 Now these things occurred as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things as they did. 7 Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry."[1] 8 We should not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did-and in one day twenty-three thousand of them died. 9 We should not test Christ,[2] as some of them did-and were killed by snakes. 10 And do not grumble, as some of them did-and were killed by the destroying angel. 11 These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come. 12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13 No temptation[3] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted[3] beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted,[3] he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 14 Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.

15 I speak to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I say. 16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf. 18 Consider the people of Israel: Do not those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar? 19 Do I mean then that food sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. 21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. 22 Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

Do All to the Glory of God

23 "I have the right to do anything," you say-but not everything is beneficial. "I have the right to do anything"-but not everything is constructive. 24 No one should seek their own good, but the good of others. 25 Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26 for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."[6] 27 If an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. 28 But if someone says to you, "This has been offered in sacrifice," then do not eat it, both for the sake of the one who told you and for the sake of conscience. 29 I am referring to the other person's conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another's conscience? 30 If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for? 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32 Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God- 33 even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

Perhaps this will help.

This verse is making an implication that while it is true you have the right to do anything you want, the truth is everything you do is not beneficial for you or for those around you. While you have the right to make your own choices, you must also remember the responsibility that comes with it. To take it a step further, as Christians you must not just think about how your choices affect you, but how your choices affect others. There is something else the Bible says about free will that we sometimes want to overlook. Look at the very next verse in 1 Corinthians 10:

“Don’t be concerned for your own good but for the good of others” (1 Corinthians 10:24).
While we do have free will as Christians, we must remember we don’t live in a vacuum. If you are going to be a true follower of Christ, then you must exercise your free will with the reality of how your choices will impact other people.

Do you? Do you know how your choices will affect others?

your writings reveals your heart as the accuser of the brethren.

So says the accuser of false witness against Christ.

Lord Jesus Christ's atonement always succeeds! But, you demand your CHRIST'S FAILURE ATONEMENT as recorded in post #3,926 of this thread. According to your Free-willian Philosophy Christ's atonement applies to all people everywhere in all time, and the following represents fleshly people, dead in sin, ungodly multitude, unbelievers:
  • if Tom of the world chooses to believe in Christ before he dies, then God must profit Tom with eternal life being saved from the wrath of God.
  • if Nancy of the world chooses to believe not in Christ right until her dying thoughts, then God must punish Nancy with eternal damnation being under the wrath of God.
  • The conclusion: Christ's atonement succeeded in saving Tom of the world, and Christ's atonement failed in saving Nancy of the world.
So, you free-willians believe in failure atonement.

PRAISE THE THOROUGH REDEEMER!!!

Let's take this step by step.

  1. The Bible says that to be chosen in Christ means to be alive in Christ because Christ is Life. The Bible makes this abundantly clear.
  2. To be denied the choice or will to repent and to believe in Christ means that you are still dead in your sins. The Bible makes this abundantly clear also.
  3. Therefore, the philosophy you promote makes one a Living Dead person, a Zombie in other words. Stop adding your Zombie philosophy to the Word of God.
