I’m a Bible only . Sealed means ownership that cannot be broken. You are letting your “ personal “ beliefs influence what you read in scripture just like Calvinists do.

Amen! No one can break the seal of God.

<1,,728,arrabon>
originally, "earnest-money" deposited by the purchaser and forfeited if the purchase was not completed, was probably a Phoenician word, introduced into Greece. In general usage it came to denote "a pledge" or "earnest" of any sort; in the NT it is used only of that which is assured by God to believers; it is said of the Holy Spirit as the Divine "pledge" of all their future blessedness, 2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; in Ephesians 1:14; 4:30 particularly of their eternal inheritance.

2 Corinthians 1:21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

2 Corinthians 5:5 - Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Ephesians 1:13 - In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Ephesians 4:30 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed unto/for the day of redemption.

It is really sad that you really haven't a clue about what it means that the Almighty God is Sovereign.

You literally quoted where God caused me to cite one of the Sovereignty of God passages "I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever for His dominion is an everlasting dominion, and His kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, but He does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth, and no one can ward off His hand, or say to Him, ‘What have You done?’" (Daniel 4:34-35), a passage which God has given me understanding of the Sovereignty of God, so your post is anti-truth.

You believe in the sovereignty of man with your belief that you buy your way into heaven with your fleshly free-will faith payment in your "apart from Christ, I chose to believe Christ so Christ must profit me with salvation", yet the Christ of us Christians declares "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5) and "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) and “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are Life” (John 6:63), so you believe falsehood (2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 2:9-10).

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE SOVEREIGN LORD JESUS!!!

OSAS is an incredibly evil and wicked deception that has swept through the church spawned from the virus of Calvinism. I would encourage very serious prayer for someone who has allowed this deception into their life, as it can cause real harm. The warnings of Scripture, the witness of Christians with better fruit than us falling away, the testimony of the Spirit to our hearts, and the twisted and convoluted false logic of Calvinism, all instruct as to turn away from such a grave error misleading so many to hell. It is simply a false and twisted understanding of what grace means to insist it must eliminate our free will and remove our ability to choose to follow the Lord or walk away from him.
So, you accuse ALL believers in the OSAS camp (I actually prefer the term eternal security or preservation of the saints) of being Calvinists who are on their way to hell? You judge and condemn ALL Christians in the OSAS camp?

It sounds to me like you are suffering from a severe case of anti-OSAS derangement syndrome.

Now I do believe in free will and I am not a Calvinist. I have found that ALL false religions and cults that promote salvation by works strongly oppose OSAS which has always been a major red flag for me.

John 12:40 "HE HAS BLINDED THEIR EYES AND HE HARDENED THEIR HEART, SO THAT THEY WOULD NOT SEE WITH THEIR EYES AND PERCEIVE WITH THEIR HEART, AND BE CONVERTED AND I HEAL THEM."

1 Corinthians 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

Isaiah 44:18 They do not know, nor do they understand, for He has smeared over their eyes so that they cannot see and their hearts so that they cannot comprehend.

Isaiah 6:9-10
He said, “Go, and tell this people:
‘Keep on listening, but do not perceive;
Keep on looking, but do not understand.’
“Render the hearts of this people insensitive,
Their ears dull,
And their eyes dim,
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
Understand with their hearts,
And return and be healed.”

Matthew 13:13 Therefore I speak to them in parables; because while seeing they do not see, and while hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

Luke 8:10 And He said, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth.

1 Corinthians 1:21 or since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

1 Corinthians 2:15:16 Those who are spiritual can evaluate all things, but they themselves cannot be evaluated by others. For, “Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

Cinder Fella? would you like me to help you with your shoe so you may walk in the light of truth and understanding?

It is impossible to take you, with your visions of divine messages, seriously. You present yourself as one straight out of the loony bin standing on the street corner hold as sign announcing the coming end of the world. And you trash your own message in doing so.

"you did not choose Me, but I chose you" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:16) WAS NEVER MEANT FOR ALL PEOPLE.

You have made it very clear with your amplification of "John 15:16 WAS NEVER MEANT FOR ALL PEOPLE" that you deny being a friend of Lord Jesus because you self-willingly exclude yourself from "I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you" (John 15:15-16). I thank Lord Jesus for choosing me to be His friend because I am weak but He is strong!

The Word of God issues these wonderful blessings to all believers in all time:
  • "you did not choose Me, but I chose you" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:16), so God chooses people to be friends (John 15:15, the prior verse) and to believe (John 6:29) and to be born again (John 3:3-8) and for righteous works (John 3:21, John 15:5) and to repent (Matthew 11:25) and to love (John 13:34) and unto salvation (John 15:19 the same passage).
  • "I chose you out of the world" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:19, includes salvation), so God exclusively chooses people unto salvation.
  • "What I say to you I say to all" (Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 13:37 - Jesus had taken the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John aside in private and said this), so all the blessings of God mentioned above are to all believers in all time.
And I am forevermore thankful to Lord Jesus Christ!

The only way for free-willian philosophers to acheive free-will is for them to add to the Word of God, and it is written "do not add to His words or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar" (Proverbs 30:6).

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men leading to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE LORD OF SALVATION!!!

Word Salad supreme. Not chronological even by topic. And a great way to stop those who would (me) post each one and comment based on your personal interpretation.
  • "I chose you out of the world" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:19, includes salvation), so God exclusively chooses people unto salvation.

John 15:15 “No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

15:16 “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

15:17 “This I command you, that you love one another.

15:18 “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

15:19 “If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.
THERE IS NOTHING THAT SAYS HE CHOSE ALL. THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT SALVATION HERE.

15:20 “Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
HE WAS TALKING TO THOSE WHO COULD HEAR HIS VOICE AS HE INSTRUCTED THEM.
  • "What I say to you I say to all" (Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 13:37 - Jesus had taken the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John aside in private and said this), so all the blessings of God mentioned above are to all believers in all time.

And

"what I say to you
This phrase indicates that Jesus is addressing His immediate audience, the disciples, who were with Him on the Mount of Olives. The context of this discourse is known as the Olivet Discourse, where Jesus speaks about future events, including the destruction of the temple and His second coming. The use of "you" emphasizes the personal nature of His message to those who were closest to Him, highlighting the importance of His teachings for His followers.

I SAY TO ALL.. "Be on the alert!" (Ya left this off)

I say to everyone
Here, Jesus expands His message beyond the disciples to include all believers. This universal application underscores the timeless relevance of His teachings. The call to vigilance is not limited to the first-century audience but extends to all Christians throughout history. This inclusivity aligns with the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), where Jesus instructs His followers to make disciples of all nations, indicating that His teachings are for everyone.

Keep watch!
The command to "keep watch" is a call to spiritual vigilance and readiness for Christ's return. This theme of watchfulness is echoed in other parts of the New Testament, such as 1 Thessalonians 5:6, where believers are urged to be alert and sober. The cultural context of the first century, where watchmen were crucial for the safety of cities, provides a vivid metaphor for the spiritual alertness required of Christians. This phrase also connects to the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), emphasizing the importance of being prepared for the bridegroom's arrival, symbolizing Christ's return.

And I am forevermore thankful to Lord Jesus Christ!

"I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you

YOU do not know everything they were told. ergo. you are not his friend .

He is, however, my brother.

Christians that follow Jesus’ teachings, even after his death, are still servants to the Master and are his spiritual brothers and sisters; we have been adopted into the family of God and will also help rule with our King forever.
Adoption is God’s remedy for a specific situation. It actually meets our need for a new family, and its justification meets our need for a new legal status. The Bible teaches that, because of sin, we have all been children of the devil. But by faith, Jesus gives us authority to become sons and daughters of God. Through Jesus, God allows us to become his people by adoption. It is an honor to call Jesus our brother and share the blessings that the Father gives to his son.7

We have no need to add to the Holy Scriptures, but you often leave part off such as the rest of Mark 13:37 "Be on the alert!" which is understandable so you can twist the meaning for your needs. SAD:cry:

Not to worry. I've got Jesus.

Listen to you, Salty. You siezed Jesus in your grasp - by your might, in your own power, not by God's Spirit, all according to your self-willed (2 Peter 2:9-10) thoughts.

The Word of God declares "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit" (Zechariah 4:4).

Your free-will power grip on Jesus Christ diametrically contrasts against the Power of God (1 Corinthians 1:24) for we Christians believe that our Lord Jesus Christ holds us securely in His grip because our Shepherd promises to us "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me, and I give eternal Life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand" (John 10:27-28). Thank You, Lord Jesus, for securing me in Your loving grip despite my weakness - You are strong - Praise You!

Right free-will is where it's at.

I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be 50 ways to get free from works salvation.

I praise Lord Jesus Christ who is the Truth (John 14:6) setting every Christian, including me, free from sin for my blessed Savior says "If you abide in my Word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.”" (John 8:31-32). You believe your free-will set you free because without your free-will choosing then you would be damned according to Free-willian Philosophy.

Behold, your fleshly false free-will is that which you believe sets you free, not the Truth (John 14:6).

Is man born as a sinner free from being a slave/servant of sin ?

Jesus said Jn 8:34

34Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Can we use our freewill to stop being a servant of sin ?

Can man by his own freewill , free himself from the captivity of the devil ? All of us are naturally under the captivity of the devil Eph 2:2

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

2 Tim 2:25-26

25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Those who are taken captive at another’s will are not free, but at the will of Satan they are his captives

Your "random passage theology" is an assault by you against King Jesus of the Kingdom of God because self-willed you (2 Peter 2:9-10) relegates King Jesus' proclamations to your inconsequential worthless value status, and you did such against wonderfully priceless Christian Life applicable proclamations such as "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5) and "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) and “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are Life” (John 6:63).

Your "random passage theology" is an assault by you against King Jesus of the Kingdom of God because self-willed you (2 Peter 2:9-10) accuse King Jesus who Himself quoted Holy Scripture with "But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God: ‘I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living" (Matthew 22:31-21).

Your "Burger King theology" is an assault by you against King Jesus of the Kingdom of God because self-willed you (2 Peter 2:9-10) liken King Jesus to the parody King of Burger King.

I believe Treasure is in God's Way alone (John 14:6). You believe treasure is founded in man's way alone.

As a blessed Christian, I believe in and follow Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Truth (John 14:6), so you calling me a follower of "Fatalism" means that you are calling my Leader Jesus your wicked "Fatal", a.k.a. "Death", and no Christian applies Death to Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ is Life!

PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!!

The Apostle John enjoins us Christians "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1).

God causes me to test your spirit based upon the content in your many writings in this thread.

Lord Jesus Christ's atonement always succeeds! But, you demand your CHRIST'S FAILURE ATONEMENT as recorded in post #3,926 of this thread. According to your Free-willian Philosophy Christ's atonement applies to all people everywhere in all time, and the following represents fleshly people, dead in sin, ungodly multitude, unbelievers:
  • if Tom of the world chooses to believe in Christ before he dies, then God must profit Tom with eternal life being saved from the wrath of God.
  • if Nancy of the world chooses to believe not in Christ right until her dying thoughts, then God must punish Nancy with eternal damnation being under the wrath of God.
  • The conclusion: Christ's atonement succeeded in saving Tom of the world, and Christ's atonement failed in saving Nancy of the world.
So, you free-willians believe in failure atonement.

The Grace of God always succeeds! But, you demand your EARNABLY RESISTIBLE GRACE OF GOD deception as recorded in post #5,496 of this thread.

King Jesus of the Kingdom of God exclusively controls admission into the Kingdom of God for the Glory of God! But you demand your free-willian UnBiblical Order of Salvation as recorded in post #2,495 of this thread. The loving Christ of us Christians opens our ears to hear the Word of God in Truth (John 14:6):
And looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!"). Immediately the man’s ears were opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.
(Mark 7:34-35)
But you do not believe Christ does the wonders that He does, instead, you believe you open your own self-willed ears (2 Peter 2:9-10).

Lord Jesus Christ commands us Christians to love one another with "as you might desire that men should do to you, so also you do to them, for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7:12), but you issue your free-willian ANTICHRIST SELFISH COMMAND TO NOT LOVE NOR SERVE OTHERS as recorded in post #6,298.

@civic

And if I can borrow from this.... It is because of our Sovereign Heavenly Father that free will not only is within the nature of mankind, it abounds.

WHY... Because our Sovereign Heavenly Father is exactly that. Sovereign.

Our Heavenly Father God is described in the Bible as all-powerful and all-knowing (Psalm 147:5), outside of time (Exodus 3:14; Psalm 90:2), and responsible for the creation of everything (Genesis 1:1; John 1:1). These divine traits set the minimum boundary for God’s sovereign control in the universe, which is to say that nothing in the universe occurs without God’s permission. God has the power and knowledge to prevent anything He chooses to prevent, so anything that does happen must, at the very least, be “allowed” by God.

And that my friend @Kermos covers free will. It is designed by God for His purposes.

As a blessed Christian, I believe in and follow Lord Jesus Christ, who is the Truth (John 14:6), so you calling me a follower of "fatalism" means that you are calling my Leader Jesus your wicked "datal", a.k.a. "death", and no Christian applies death to Lord Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus Christ is Life!

This post is also to @3dognight and @MTMattie since you Like calling Jesus your "death".

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men that leads to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE LIFE!!!

Word Salad supreme. Not chronological even by topic. And a great way to stop those who would (me) post each one and comment based on your personal interpretation.

MTMattie, "your personal interpretation" is unable to understand the Word of God. The Holy Spirit is requisite to understand the Word of God "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God" (2 Peter 1:20-21) and "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit" (Zechariah 4:4).

I thank the Holy Spirit for His understanding delivered into Me of the Word of God.

You wrote "THERE IS NOTHING THAT SAYS HE CHOSE ALL", yet The Apostle John wrote "these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:31); therefore, you are wrong because the Apostle John recorded "you" in (John 20:31) and "you" in “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) - the Word of God declares who Lord Jesus Christ is, but you do not believe Him.

You blindy wrote "THERE IS NOTHING ABOUT SALVATION HERE", yet the Word of God declares “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation).

In Truth (John 14:6), earlier in this thread, God caused me to quote "What I say to you I say to all! You be on the watch!", the two statements issued by Lord Jesus recorded in Mark 13:37, so you bear false witness against me in your thoughts of "Ya left this off" since this very Word of God is included in post #6,355.

You wrote "I say to everyone Here, Jesus expands His message beyond the disciples to include all believers".

Contextual Relationship Between John 15:16-19 and Mark 13:37

Lord Jesus explained "if they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you" (John 15:20) in the very next verse after John 15:19, so Jesus includes the context of the manner that the world persecutes us Christians because the Christ of us Christians says "you".

Lord Jesus also explained "you will be hated by all because of My name" Mark 13:13, so, again, Jesus includes the context of the manner that the world persecutes us Christians because the Christ of us Christians says "you".

The Christ's words recorded in John 15:20 and Mark 13:13 establish a contextual link between John chapter 15 and Mark chapter 13.

As a result, since Jesus says "What I say to you I say to all" (Mark 13:37) to "Peter and James and John and Andrew" in private (Mark 13:3), then Christ's words, His blessings, associated with "you" are for all the Assembly of God in all time.

Therefore, Christ includes the "you" in "you did not choose Me, but I chose you" (John 15:16 and "I chose you out of the world" (John 15:19) to be for all of Christ's disciples in all time.
