An Article on free will

Free will is the power to decide what you will do in a certain situation.

‘I am allowed to do anything’—but not everything is beneficial” (1 Corinthians 10:23).

Salty, beware lest you have no saltiness for free-will is proven fallacy as familiarized in the following Word of God shown in red.

Right free-will is where it's at.

Hop on the bus Guss
"The problem is all inside your head," I'm telling ya
The answer is easy if you take it logically"
I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free
There must be 50 ways to get free from works salvation.

I praise Lord Jesus Christ who is the Truth (John 14:6) setting every Christian, including me, free from sin for my blessed Savior says "If you abide in my Word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free.”" (John 8:31-32). I am eternally grateful for my Lord Jesus Christ's words and works! The Truth Jesus Christ set me free!

You believe your free-will set you free because without your free-will choosing then you would be damned according to Free-willian Philosophy.

Behold, your fleshly false free-will is that which you believe sets you free, not the Truth (John 14:6).

You and @TibiasDad (because of his heart's treasure (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) "Like" in your post) both reject the Word of God who says "He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day" (John 12:48).

You believe you buy your way into heaven with your fleshly free-will faith payment in your "apart from Christ, I chose to believe Christ so Christ must profit me with salvation", yet the Christ of us Christians declares "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5) and "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) and “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are Life” (John 6:63), so you believe falsehood (2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 2:9-10).

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men leading to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE EXCLUSIVE CHOOSER OF THE CHOSEN OF GOD!!!

So says the preacher of your CHRIST'S FAILURE ATONEMENT as recorded in post #3,926 of this thread. According to your Free-willian Philosophy Christ's atonement applies to all people everywhere in all time, and the following represents fleshly people, dead in sin, ungodly multitude, unbelievers:
  • if Tom of the world chooses to believe in Christ before he dies, then God must profit Tom with eternal life being saved from the wrath of God.
  • if Nancy of the world chooses to believe not in Christ right until her dying thoughts, then God must punish Nancy with eternal damnation being under the wrath of God.
  • The conclusion: Christ's atonement succeeded in saving Tom of the world, and Christ's atonement failed in saving Nancy of the world.
So, you free-willians believe in failure atonement. Lord Jesus Christ's atonement always succeeds!

The Grace of God always succeeds! But, you demand your EARNABLY RESISTIBLE GRACE OF GOD deception as recorded in post #5,496 of this thread.

King Jesus of the Kingdom of God exclusively controls admission into the Kingdom of God for the Glory of God! But you demand your free-willian UnBiblical Order of Salvation as recorded in post #2,495 of this thread. The loving Christ of us Christians opens our ears to hear the Word of God in Truth (John 14:6):
And looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!"). Immediately the man’s ears were opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.
(Mark 7:34-35)
But you do not believe Christ does the wonders that He does, instead, you believe you open your own self-willed ears (2 Peter 2:9-10).

Lord Jesus Christ commands us Christians to love one another with "as you might desire that men should do to you, so also you do to them, for this is the law and the prophets" (Matthew 7:12), but you issue your free-willian ANTICHRIST SELFISH COMMAND TO NOT LOVE NOR SERVE OTHERS as recorded in post #6,298.

ηλίθιος,
It is not everyone that God picks. Have you forgotten that?

Beyond one or two or even three of the Reformers, there are Confessions of Faith followed by certain churches that teach " predestination is God’s unchangeable decree from before the creation of the world that he would freely save some people (the elect), foreordaining them to eternal life, while the others (the reprobate) would be “barred from access to” salvation and sentenced to “eternal death

And there is not one thing in the world or their lives that can change those who don't make it..... that would be by God's decree.

So by your example above... if free will Mary did not believe yet enter into her life anyone or anything that got Mary to really think for herself
(maybe her husband... maybe the soapbox preacher outside the grocery store... or the witnessing of someone elses answered prayer ) and she came to understand... then she too would be on her way to her new birth and joining Tom.

If you are right.... there are a lot of people who will miss it, with no hope.

If we are right... then hope abounds.

hope abounds unless one is a fatalist. :)

Do not do that. I have never made that statement. Do not print a lie and then blame it on me. That is really despicable. I would hope that is not who you really are.

I haven;t denied any of that. I have denied your seriously wrong interpretation of some of it.

If Matthew 15:9 has anything to say to us, it is that the soteriology of Calvinist/Reformed Theology is the conjured concept of the traditions of men

And once again you assign careless and defective definitions to words in your conjured concept of the gospel. Yes, God is Sovereign. But it is Calvinism that denies God. His sovereignty. Calvinism refuses to allow God to enable mankind the ability to choose to obey the laws He has given. How corrupt is it to profess that God issued over 600 commands to a people and then prohibit them from choosing to obey them? That is the height of theological corruption.

You wrote 'The "see" in verse 3 and the enter in verse 5 both speak of the same thing' (proof post #6,345) about the Word of God "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) as well as “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit" (John 3:5); therefore, you call Lord Jesus your liar because you clearly believe Jesus says "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot enter the Kingdom of God" (Jim 3:3, version 1.0) which is your traditions of men leading to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

You call me your "despicable" for your belief that I adulterate your words (and you are wrong about that), yet you adulterate Lord Jesus Christ's words (and the prior and next paragraphs prove your adulterations).

You call Lord Jesus your liar with your 'The "see" in verse 3 and the enter in verse 5 both speak of the same thing' (proof post #6,345) words there, Jim, which results in a second version of your traditions of men on the left side below while the righteous side expresses divine right:
The traditions of men The Holy Word of God
Truly, truly, I say to you, before one is born again he can see the Kingdom of God[
(Jim 3:3, version 2.0)
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God
(Lord Jesus Christ, John 3:3)

The Word of God in John 3:2-8 in Truth (John 14:6)

The wonderful exchange between Jesus and Nicodemus with context follows. The true Lord Jesus declares that a person cannot righteously perceive King Jesus of the Kingdom of God without God birthing the person anew in the exchange:
Speaker Holy Scripture Summary
Nicodemus: "Rabbi, we see that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” (John 3:2) I perceive that God sent you, Teacher, for the signs you do are because God is with you!
Lord Jesus: "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born from above he cannot see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3) One perceives Me because of the exclusive work of God inside of such a one
Nicodemus: "How can someone be born when they are old?" "Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!" (John 3:4) How can I enter into this communion with God without me working in some way? Please help me understand.
Lord Jesus: Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born from above.’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:5-8) One enters into communion with God because of the Holy Spirit. One knows not when nor how nor why the Holy Spirit works in this person here or that person there.

As the Holy Spirit makes abundantly clear, the context of John 3:2-3 is "see" as in "perceive", and the context of John 3:4-8 is "enter" as in "ingress".

Your heart makes false statements about God and man. Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE FATHER OF US CHILDREN OF GOD AND CREATOR OF ALL CREATION!!!

Do not do that. I have never made that statement. Do not print a lie and then blame it on me. That is really despicable. I would hope that is not who you really are.

That’s the results of fatalism unfortunately

Yes, I indicated that verse 3 and verse 5 are essentially saying the same thing. But I did not say, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before one is born again he can see the Kingdom of God". Not only did I not say it, I don't even believe it.

So, you lied. And quite frankly I have come to expect that of you. That seems to be an MO for you.

Again you assign a quote to me that you made up. DO NOT DO THAT. IT IS WRONG,

Same faulty nonsense as before.

You wrote 'With respect to John 6:29, that is Jesus' answer to those in the crowd asking, "What must we do, to be doing the works of God?" He didn't try to deceive them. He answered them truthfully and told them what they must do. He told them "you must believe in God"' (proof post #6,346) about the Word of God “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29); therefore, you call Lord Jesus your liar because you clearly believe Jesus says "This is the work of you, that you believe in Him whom He has sent" (Jim 6:29, version 1.0) which is your traditions of men leading to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

You call Lord Jesus Christ's lovely saying “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) your "despicable" "nonsense" in your closing paragraph.

You call Lord Jesus your liar with your "He ... told them what they must do" (proof post #6,346) words there, Jim, which results in a second version of your traditions of men on the left side below while the righteous side expresses divine right:
The traditions of men The Holy Word of God
This is not the work of God but this is the work of man, that you believe in Him whom He has sent
(Jim 6:29, version 2.0)
This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent
(Lord Jesus Christ, John 6:29)

The Word of God in John 6:28-29 in Truth (John 14:6)

The enlightening exchange between Jesus and the crowd of individuals with context follows. The true Lord Jesus declares that God causes a person to believe in King Jesus of the Kingdom of God for Lord Jesus eliminates the "work of man" when he replies to the crowd:
Speaker Holy Scripture Summary
the crowd: "What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?” (John 6:28) How do I do the work of man causing the work of God in me?
Lord Jesus: "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent" (John 6:29) One believing in Me whom the Father has sent is the work of God alone inside of such a one

Lord Jesus Christ means exactly what he said when he said that that you believe in Him whom He has sent is the work of God!

PRAISE THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF THE FAITH!!!

You lied again. As I said, lying seems to be your MO.
the fatalist by default must twist scripture and his opponents words. like the pharisees who tried to set traps against Jesus, the fatalist does the same with believers. a modern day pharisaical mentality.

The blessed filling of the Holy Spirit occurs before Pentecost with "Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit" (Luke 1:41), yet your anti-truth ABSENCE OF THE INDWELLING HOLY SPIRIT BEFORE PENTECOST is your ungodly preaching as recorded in
post #5,718.

You can find where God caused me to proclaim that “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) includes all Christ's disciples in all time with Christ's wonderful words of "What I say to you I say to all" (Mark 13:37) in post #6,344 in this thread.

You are one of the false prophets who have gone out into the world"l (1 John 4:1) as proven by your own testimony recorded above.

PRAISE OUR CHRISTIAN'S LIVING GOD, JESUS CHRIST!!!

Did they have a choice?

If you are asking whether a person free-will chooses Jesus Christ, then the the following addresses your inquiry.

Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! PRAISE THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF THE FAITH!!!

This fourth post in the series concludes with a complete nonsensical bit of babble derived largely from the complete nonsensical babbling of Calvinism.

I will give you my response to anyone who comes to me with a "God told me...." or "God said to me..." or in your case that "God caused me....". And with that I say to you that God told me to disregard any and all of that as complete and total nonsense. And so I will! For indeed, your attempt to define sin in the absence of free will is complete and total nonsense. Obedience is a choice -- PERIOD.

You wrote "your attempt to define sin in the absence of free will is complete and total nonsense. Obedience is a choice -- PERIOD", yet my brother Paul wrote "So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:12-13); therefore, your heart's treasure (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) credits man's obedience to the freewill choosing by man, but the Apostle Paul wisely credits man's obedience to the Sovereignty of God.

You eyes do not see the Word of God whom God caused me to quote to you - you wrote 'in your case that "God caused me....". And with that I say to you that God told me to disregard any and all of that as complete and total nonsense'.

The Natural Is The First State Of Being For All Mere Mortals - Sin By Default

The Apostle Paul identifies every man starts out as a natural man with "the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual" (1 Corinthians 15:46).

The Apostle Paul states that man is accountable to God for man's own sin against God with "[b}since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse[/b]" (Romans 1:20).

The Apostle Paul includes even the Gentiles in the Law "For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves" (Romans 2:14).

The Apostle Paul states that man is accountable to God for man's own crime against God with "we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law [comes] the knowledge of sin" (Romans 3:19-20).

The Apostle Paul explains that the commands of God are foolishness to man with a "natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised" (1 Corinthians 2:14)

The Apostle Paul declares that man's flesh opposes the Spirit of God with "the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another" (Galatians 5:17).

The Apostle Paul declares that man's flesh is hostile against God and the flesh cannot please God with "the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able [to do so], and those who are in the flesh cannot please God" (Romans 8:7-8).

THE FIRST STATE OF MAN IS OPPOSITION TO GOD, AND THE ONLY WAY (JOHN 14:6) FOR MAN'S SALVATION IS FOR GOD TO BIRTH MAN ANEW (JOHN 3:2-8), NOT A WORK OF A CHOICE BY MAN, BUT STRICTLY THE WORK OF GOD IN MAN (JOHN 6:29).

You believe you buy your way into heaven with your natural fleshly free-will faith payment in your "apart from Christ, I chose to believe Christ so Christ must profit me with salvation", yet the Christ of us Christians declares "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" (John 15:5) and "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) and “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are Life” (John 6:63), so you believe falsehood (2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 2:9-10).

Sin is the default nature of man, and free-will exists not.

PRAISE THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTER OF THE FAITH!!!
