Women in Ministry

Your theology ( modalism/oneness ) clouds your understanding of basic words and their meanings when it comes to who God is as demonstrated in this thread. women are subject to men as Christ is to God the Father. woman are subservient to men and submissive in both the family and church.

its a badge of honor as Christ is our example of humility and being subject, submitting and being subservient to the Father.

To all, as for Women in Ministry, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. we're in an "EVERLASTING" ....... BINDING COVENANT with God in Christ. for we walk by Faith and NOT by sight. take not by what men may say, including 101G. go to God, study to show thyself approve unto God, show him you're interested in his Holy Word, and HE will give you complete UNDERSTANDING. that you my stand in the EVIL DAY that we're in NOW.

Let God be your GUIDE, ask and it will be GIVEN unto you, seek and ye shall find, KNOCK, and the door will be open. ALL THINGS ARE YOURS.

lol off topic but nice try. looks like you ran out of scriptures to defend the roles within the family and church.

well as said, post scripture where he didn't have the Holy Spirit in him at anytime? the scripture please. Gene, Gene, if you was born with a hand...... do it just go away on it's own.... see you're caught in an ERROR, and you dig yourself further into a hole by lying excuses. quit while you're on solid ground. well at least you're .... (smile). Oh dear.

For such a wise teacher who sees us mere children.... you must be joking about not knowing the differences between the indwelling vs filling of the Spirit means.

Surely, you jest.

While we are at it? What foreign country are you from?
Maybe understanding the cultural differences would help us know why you communicate in English like you do.

Note: We are never commanded to be indwelled by the Spirit. We are only told to be filled with the Spirit.

Here is Jesus explaining the difference that was to take place between believers having the Spirit before and after Jesus was glorified.

John 14:16-17

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you
and be with you forever—even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot
receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he
dwells with you and will be in you."

Note! They had the Spirit WITH them at that time.
And, later? They would have the Spirit living permanently IN them forever.

"You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. "

John the Baptist had the Spirit WITH him.

But, we have the Spirit permanently living IN us.... even when we are being obnoxious and sinfully arrogant.

That can be seen as good news for those who are proclaiming bad news after they were saved in spite of themselves.
They can not lose their salvation because the Spirit remains permanently in them!

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption."
Ephesians 4:30

I'm not concerned about the other disciple, post resurrection. are we not discussing John the Baptist pre-resurrection?
last time, post the scripture where the Spirit was not in him at any time, book chapter and verse please.

Hey, 101... last time I checked? Its you who need to prove John the Baptist had the indwelling (not filling) Holy Spirit.

So far... you have failed to provide the needed evidence.

Not sure how you are interpreting the entire chapter of Jeremiah 35.
That was a group who swore never to touch drink. Just like John the Baptist abstained.

That has nothing to do with the general tenor of the Law concerning drinking wine.

For example....

While I lived as a Jew we were encouraged to drink several glasses of wine with the Passover Seder meal as a *requirement.*.

So? I do not know where you are coming from in reference to your citing Jeremiah 35.

The whole idea of abstaining from alcohol is very "new" in context of Christian history in general.

So that blip showing up on the radar has the quality of a prophetic ripple so to speak.

Nowadays does seem very pre-captivity ... does it not?

My pastor exegeted that chapter (from the Hebrew) years ago. At the time it was fascinating to have him explain about the wine
and what the connotation was.

This much I remember.

There was a reason for why God told Jeremiah to offer them wine, that without knowing the history of that people,
would only leave us open for creative speculations...

So I will leave it be unless I come across that lesson again.

ok, since U don't KNOW, let the bible prove it to U.
A. scripture #1. John 1:6 "There was a man sent from God, whose name was John." Did you understand the E-mail here? if not, John was "SENT" from, from, from, God. not just sent by God but FROM God. WHY? answer, John 1:7 "The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe." John 1:8 "He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light."

see, or UNDERSTAND Gene, one cannot Witness for God without the Holy Spirit. John was born with the Spirit from birth. Why? because "DEAD" men cannot witness, only "ALIVE" men can witness. at that time on the planet, only two men was "ALIVE" unto God, to WITTNESS. these two men are John the Baptist, and the Lord Jesus the Christ.

understand, John was "SENT" .... FROM GOD. and was BORN with the Spirit in him, which was a "WORK" to do.... John 1:8 "He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light." as said, "DEAD" men cannot witness unto God. for all was Spiritually DEAD, (without the Holy Spirit, INDWELLING), unto God, from Adam up until John the Baptist.

many ... a many, and a many years ago, while in church services, 101G was reading his bible when God alerted me to John the Baptist. . yes that one verse, John 1:6 "There was a man sent from God, whose name was John." this one verse changed my way of thinking about God the Spirit indwelling Humans. his, John's "WORK", was to witness, and that's how 101G understood the two witness of Revelation 11.

B. Second Scripture #2. Holding the thought of being a witness unto God, now Pentecost, Acts 1:4 "And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me." Acts 1:5 "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." (THERE IT IS "with"), Acts 1:6 "When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?" Acts 1:7 "And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." Acts 1:8 "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." and there is the WORK..... "To Witness".

again .... "WITNESSES", by the Power of God. and how was one or they were to witness on the day of Pentecost? answer they by the power of God spoke with tongues.... which were "GIFTS" of the Holy Spirit.

now, the scripture stated that the Holy Spirit came upon them, so did he not indwell them? yes, and was this indwelling temporary? no. for A. they did more miracles, and B. the Lord Jesus said he will never LEAVE them, even unto the end of the world, or age. . ... Hello, anyone home?

see, or UNDERSTAND Gene, these men and Women was ALREADY "SAVE", Chosen "of" God, now they are Baptized "WITH" the Holy Spirit. scripture, Acts 1:5 "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." (BINGO, there it is again, BAPTIZED "WITH". now the Baptism "OF", "OF", "OF", the Holy Spirit, Salvation. scripture. John 3:1 "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:" John 3:2 "The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him." John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John 3:4 "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?" John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
QUESTION, "How do water "BIRTH one Again?" answer, "BAPTISM". understand, "your Birth the "FIRST" time is NATURAL, of your mother womb, (WATER), but the SECOND TIME, or AGAIN is of, of, of, of, the Spirit. supportive scripture. Colossians 2:12 "Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." ... NOW Romans 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Romans 6:5 "For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:" and who raised the BODY from the dead? answer the Spirit.

see, all those lies about baptis?, and 101G quote some, "the Lord Jesus in John 2 when talking to Nicodemus about being born again, it was the water of your mother womb"... LIE, not the second WATER..... which buried You, so that the Spirit can birth, or have you "BORN of, of, of, him, the Spirit), instead being born of your MOTHER again... (smile).... lol, lol, lol, Oh dear, see how easy men lie. again, READ your bible ... WITH, WITH, WITH, the Holy Spirit, and one will be MADE FREE instead of set free... big difference.

so Gene, the Baptism "OF" the Holy Spirit places one into the Body of Christ, it's called being (BORN AGAIN), or the Baptism "of" the Spirit. and once SAVED, then one Goes to Work, and God will empower one to do the "WORK" of God ..... "WITH", "WITH", "WITH", his Gift of the Spirit. which is called the Baptism "WITH" the Spirit,

101G suggest you copy this Post for future references. READ it again, and again until you have it down in your heart.

To all,
it is plain as day in the bible. there is neither male nor female in Christ. just as salvation, we're in the world but not a part of it.

the whole chapter 12 of Romans, maybe some will read it.

Romans 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (A MANY OF MINDS HAVE NOT BEEN TRANFORMED). Romans 12:3 "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." Romans 12:4 "For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:" Romans 12:5 "So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another." Romans 12:6 "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;" Romans 12:7 "Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;" Romans 12:8 "Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness." Romans 12:9 "Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good." Romans 12:10 "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;" Romans 12:11 "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;" Romans 12:12 "Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;" Romans 12:13 "Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality." Romans 12:14 "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not." Romans 12:15 "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep." Romans 12:16 "Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits." Romans 12:17 "Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men." Romans 12:18 "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." Romans 12:19 "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." Romans 12:20 "Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head." Romans 12:21 "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

maybe some might read the chapter here instead from their own bibles.

To all,
Today's Question and discussion. "the term Pastor and Bishop are synonyms". so, knowing this, why did the apostle Paul not meet the requirements set in 1 Timothy 3:1 "This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work." 1 Timothy 3:2 "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;" ............. if one was to be Married. WAS NOT THE APOSTLE PAUL ALSO A PASTOR/BISHOP? yes. do not Pastors feed the flock of God? yes, Jeremiah 3:15 "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding." now bishops, Acts 20:28 "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood."
here OVERSEERS is the Greek term,
G1985 ἐπίσκοπος episkopos (e-piy'-sko-pos) n.
1. an overseer.
2. (in genitive case) one of the co-superintendents entrusted with the well-being of a local assembly or of assemblies within a city or location.
{literally or figuratively}
[from G1909 and G4649 (in the sense of G1983)]
KJV: bishop, overseer
Root(s): G1909, G4649

so a Bishop, according to 1 Timothy 3:2a "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife" let's stop here for a second. "the husband of ONE WIFE" but was not Paul a Bishop/Pastor? yes. so, who was his "WIFE?" ... for a Bishop, "the husband of one wife" is a qualification?

so today's discussion, "is the Man here in 1 Timothy 3 is a qualified Man as a husband?". well 101G say yes, but what about Paul, he's a bishop, but is not married". TRUE, well school is now open, for we need to KOWN and UNDERSTAND why are, and to whom these qualifications are made of.

so, the discussion is open. to start off, "why the qualifications in the first place if the office, or work is only desired?" and two, "how did Paul qualify if he was not married.
