I think it's a personal thing between us and God. God knows if your faith is genuine. And you will know if your faith is genuine or not. If you are fooling yourself the truth will come out over time.

Just because we call ourselves Christians, doesn’t mean we have living faith. There need to be a change in our lives. We are a new creation in Christ.

When someone accepts Jesus Christ as their savior, they undergo a spiritual transformation, becoming a new person, a complete renewal, where the old life is replaced with a new one, reflecting God's image

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
