Why there can be no gap between the 69th and 70th week

Daniel 9:24 (NASB 2020) — 24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the wrongdoing, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

69 weeks takes us only to messiah (the anointed one)

Daniel 9:25 (NASB 2020) — 25 So you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with streets and moat, even in times of distress.

There has been no passion of the Christ, No crucifixion, no death, no resurrection, no atonement. These things are not in the 69 week

There is yet one more week when according to the gap theory the prince of the people who will come shall make a covenant for that week (presumably for a rebuilt temple) and in the middle of the week put a stop to sacrifice there

so none of the 70 weeks are allotted to make an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, by the sacrifice of Christ

Christs atonement is skipped over and all that was to transpire in the 70 weeks does not come to pass. No true end to sin has been accomplished, no permanent atonement for guilt, and no everlasting righteousness

In other words, no plan of salvation brought about by the sacrifice of Christ

Inserting a gap denies what has been accomplished by Christ through his sacrifice

Why do you think that your ideas are correct?

What has convinced you about this?

If someone had only the bible to go on and did not bring preconceptions into Daniel 9 I don't believe 1 in a million would conclude, on their own, that there is a clear gap between the 69th and 70th weeks. You have to patch Daniel 9 in with the most symbolic book in the bible Revelation in a way that was unknown to Christianity prior to the 1800's.

In my view the burden of proof is on the one who believes in a gap since no gap is suggested by Daniel.
Thanks. I had asked Tom.
But on your point, if you want an argument, sure.
I'm simply asking him questions about his opinions.

@TomL says: so none of the 70 weeks are allotted to make an end of sin, to make atonement for guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, by the sacrifice of Christ

That statement is a complete lie as it is AGAINST the very words of God.

Daniel 9:24
“Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

TRUTH is for "babes" in Christ - adults stumble and fall when attempting to understand

@TomL says "In other words, no plan of salvation brought about by the sacrifice of Christ"

Here let me help you on this:

Satan says, "no plan of salvation brought about by the sacrifice of Christ"

At least let everyone know where you get this from............................

That would be the result of a gap at the 69 and 70 week

I think you just condemned it

again that would be the result of a 69 and 70 week gap not scripture which allows for no gap.

Exactly

its a case theologically driven exegesis.

read what was written

scripture tells whose decree started the clock

scripture tells us when Christ was revealed as the anointed

scripture tells when all those things are happen

Scripture tells us it was Christ's sacrifice which atoned for iniquity

it is absurd this grand act was not a part of the 70 weeks given to accomplish it.

There is NO GAP between the 69th and 70th

Daniel 9:24
Seventy weeks are determined
For your people and for your holy city,
To finish the transgression,
To make an end of sins,
To make reconciliation for iniquity,
To bring in everlasting righteousness,
To seal up vision and prophecy,
And to anoint the Most Holy.

Well, just as long as you think it's absurd, apparently that makes it so.

Now you have it correctly - according to "It is written"

Well perhaps then you can make sense of 70 weeks to make atonement for iniquity which does not include within the 70 week an atonement for iniquity

Dan 9:24 KJV Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Jesus reconciled, and made atonement on the cross, at the end of the 69th seven.

I think part of the problem is that this is a Jewish concept, so unless you've read the old testament, and have a good grasp on it, it's not going to make perfect sense.

If you're a gentile, like me, we're outsiders, brought in through faith in Jesus, by the blood of Jesus and the new birth.

Always did. The no salvation screed was the results of placing a gap which totally omitted the sacrifice of Christ

That is something gap proponents have to face

The 'gap theory' is for the lie of pre-trib rapture.

That is what they do = add to God's words what HE never said..............
