The work of God is for YOU TO BELIEVE

nope stick to John 20:31

evasion
Theyre related, i compare spiritual things with spirtual things. 1 Cor 2:13

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Its nothing wrong with explaining scripture with scripture

The will is not so enslaved. You are starting with your premise without first establishing it. Please establish it.
John 8:34, where Jesus states, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin".
No one who has not sinned is enslaved to sin. OR: only sinners by their free will are enslaved to sin, losing their free will or Jesus' words are mere babbling. Sin results in enslavement, enslavement does not precede the choice to sin.

Rom 6:16 Berean Standard Bible
Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness?

I disagree. A bad choice is free.
Yes, that is how sinners remake themselves as outside of GOD but though people can choose sin by their free will, once they do so choose and become enslaved to the addictive power of sin, the enslaved mind can only chose sin... The myth that a sinner enslaved to evil has a free will is not only prima facie ridiculous, it makes Jesus' words to have no meaning!!!

Iow, once enslaved all bad choices are not by any free will but by their enslavement to the addiction of sinfulness and no righteous nor holy choices can be made.

The work of God is for YOU TO BELIEVE

and TO REPENT unto holiness, ie to become heaven ready able to marry HIM!!! HEB 12:5-11!

Ummm. Just ignore me ....

I see statements like "The work of God is for YOU " and it is the idea that is is work to God that truly seems off.

All of a sudden I see it more clearly if that word work was changed to training, because we all need that at some points in our lives.

Okay.... Carry on!

You running from 1 Jn 5:13 you cant receive it
Sorry, it does not help your position.

1 John 5:13 (NASB95) — 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

The author here simply states they who believe may know they have eternal life.

Apparently those who believe do have eternal life.

The problem is the verse does not say anything about the relation between faith and salvation.

And that does nothing at all contradict the many verses that speak of faith and salvation

Scripture isnt written to the unregenerate dead in sin. His goal was to reach the Sheep who eternal life was given Jn 10:10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

And eternal life isnt through believing, its through Christ name Jn 20:31

31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
They live through Him 1 Jn 4 9

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through[because of] him.

See the KJV

and if you add

1 John 5:13 (KJV 1900) — 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

it does nothing to help your theology that those who have already believed on the name of the son of God may believe on the name of the son of God

Let's see.

John 20:31 (KJV 1900) — 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

sorry but it is by believing you might have life

Scripture is written to regenerate Sheep, that they believe and have life and have it more abundantly.

John isn't writing to folk Christ didnt die for, the reprobate. He knows the reprobate cannot and will not ever believe or be given eternal life.

You are ignoring scripture yet again

Scripture is written to the regenerate elect, the Sheep, and they shall believe because God causes them to believe, for believing is given by grace Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

Scripture is written to the regenerate elect, the Sheep, and they shall believe because God causes them to believe, for believing is given by grace Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Why do they need it? Why do they need scripture.? They had people teaching the "word". Why do they need it?
Especially when many if not most back then did not have scripture to read or could not read.

BTW

Phillipians is not speaking of an uncondition irresistible force but the work of the gospel and spiritual truth

Ask him in the same verse the promise of suffering that goes together with the gift of faith.

watch it as it will be avoided like the plague.

the context kills, puts to death his unbiblical view of faith as a gift in salvation.

faith is the gift granted to believers so they can endure under suffering and persecution.

its the "extra " measure of grace given to believers along with faith- Romans 12:3
