The Nature of God in the Atonement

@Runningman

Jesus didn't take our punishment did he? That isn't what the Bible says. Jesus didn't go to hell for eternity. The only way your theory would work is if Jesus was in eternal conscious torment right now. Do you want to know what really happens when we die?

He didn't have to be in eternal torment forever, in order to satisfy the eternal justice due for them He died, His death was of a Man who also was God, so the quality of Person He is was more than suffice to suffer the eternal suffering of mortals. If He suffered eternal torment for 15 minutes, that was enough in Gods Judgment, so you should watch what you say. Jesus wasn't just any man, He was also God. Also be advised about these posts, they are as words to God, and in the Day of Judgment we know this Matt 12 36

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

@TomL

Nothing is stated about this being before they were born

it dont have to say it, duh Its common sense. If Christ died, rose and ascended and sat down at the right hand of God after purging sin in 33 ad, and one becomes a believer in Him in 1945, his sins were purged away before he became a believer. Duh

You're going to have a hard time selling "3 days is equal to eternity..." so good luck. The reality is, eternal conscious torment is a false doctrine as well. It's one of the many false doctrines Trinitarians have in their propaganda machine.

Im not trying to sell it. As long as His Fathers Justice was satisfied, that's the criteria, and since He raised him from the dead for their Justification, that's what mattered. You can debate God about it on Judgment Day

Yes it does, ts outright wrong. Jesus had purged their sins away and set down at the Right Hand of God b4 they were born. When current believers were born, they already had their sins purged away, the guilt thereof, back when Christ sat down on the right hand of the majesty on High. And you are denying it saying it wasn't till they believed. Thats denial and it denies Christ and His finished work.
Newsflash: the context of Heb 1:3 is not speaking of current believers.

You are assuming again.

Hebrews 1:1–4 (LEB) — 1 Although God spoke long ago in many parts and in many ways to the fathers by the prophets, 2 in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the world, 3 who is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, sustaining all things by the word of power. When he had made purification for sins through him, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become by so much better than the angels, by as much as he has inherited a more excellent name than theirs.

Further, you assume purification for unbelievers

It's not going to happen

Acts 26:18 (LEB) — 18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

1 John 1:7–9 (LEB) — 7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we do not have sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our sins and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts 15:9 (LEB) — 9 And he made no distinction between us and them,
cleansing their hearts by faith.

Um 1945 is not a part of the context

And you are assuming unbelievers have their sins purified

False, Christ died for current believers that day
But until they believe they are not purified, cleansed, or forgiven and will die in their sins

John 8:24 (LEB) — 24 Thus I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

Acts 3:19 (LEB) — 19 Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out,

2 Thessalonians 2:12 (LEB) — 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth, but delighted in unrighteousness.

@TomL

But until they believe they are not purified, cleansed, or forgiven and will die in their sins

False, they were purified when He sat down Heb 1:3

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

You denying the work of Christ, be careful friend

Yes Christ died that day for all believers of all time

The benefit was done for them when He sat down, their sins had been purged away.
Nope. Their sin was forgiven when they believe

1 John 1:9 (LEB) — 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, so that he will forgive us our sins and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Acts 3:19 (LEB) — 19 Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out,

Acts 2:38 (LEB) — 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 13:38–39 (LEB) — 38 “Therefore let it be known to you, men and brothers, that through this one forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and from all the things from which you were not able to be justified by the law of Moses, 39 by this one everyone who believes is justified!

Acts 10:43 (LEB) — 43 To this one all the prophets testify, that through his name everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 26:18 (LEB) — 18 to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

Romans 3:23–25 (LEB) — 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified as a gift by his grace, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins,

Yes Christ died that day for all believers of all time
To forgive and save believers per scripture

but not unbelievers

John 8:24 (LEB) — 24 Thus I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”

Acts 3:19 (LEB) — 19 Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out,

And it's your ignoring of scripture that is the problem here.
