1 John Hilasmos (atonement)

no this is the beginning point for a disciple- to take up your cross daily and follow Him.
which is sanctification.

we do this after we are saved

not to get saved.

if we do this to get saved

1. We are earning salvation
2. If we stop doing this, we would technically lose salvation.

I thought you believed in eternal security?

Yeah Yeah Yeah....

It just a simple transaction to you.

What if you don't like what you learn about God?

see this thread on being a disciple.

I am discussing how one gets saved and why. not what we do after.

This thread concerns what Jesus did to save us, not what we do after we are saved.

becoming a disciple is the starting point according to Jesus. counting the cost is the beginning point. taking up your cross and following Him is the starting point.

the starting point is we were dead. and we are made alive

the starting point is we have been adopted. sealed by the spirit. Brought into right relationship with God. Redeemed by the blood of the lamb, Saved by Grace through faith.

It is when we recieve him, Not when we crucify ourselves.

that is a works based gospel..

You just described a "works based gospel" yourself. You just put all the work upon God. God serves YOU.

Which is a self centered religion where you're fabricating "god" after your own likeness and desires.

But faith requires action on our part

But faith requires action on our part
I disagree,, Again, we are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH. not of works lest we should boast.

Faith receives the gift of God..

John 1: 12 but as many as have received him to them he gave the power to become children of God. even to them who believe on his name

If you trust God for salvation. you tend to trust him elsewhere. so actions are a byproduct of faith. the more we trust. the more God shows he is trustworthy, the more we act.

this is called Christian growth.

As Hebrews says, By one sacrifice he has perfected forever (justification) those who are being sanctified.

Also. as paul said, we can be confident of this very thing, he who began a good work will complete it until the day of Christ.

No faith is a life long commitment just like the promise that is made when saying I do in a marriage.

It’s why Jesus said count the cost before making a decision to become His disciple.

Faith is an action and lifelong commitment to Christ.

Amen. An Eternal commitment. Never ending.

The way you approach this, you should never fail. Never. Not once. We know that isn't true at all.

Nope believers will persevere, real faith endures , it finishes the race.
then nothing you said above makes any sense concerning sanctification, which is why you are confusing me

Believers do not persevere. that is why I reject Calvinist perseverance of the saints. If I must persevere. then I am saving myself and salvation can be lost if I fail

God keeps us. as he said, non will be lost (john 6)

Sanctification has a past, present and future aspect . Just like salvation does
