The Importance of Obedience in Knowing God

Why "Behold"? Why does Jesus remove our transgressions?

Because it's sin that separates us from God.

So, God became a man, to not only forgive our sin, but "became sin for us" so that its concluded forever., as redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

Because it's sin that separates us from God.

So, God became a man, to not only forgive our sin, but "became sin for us" so that its concluded forever., as redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.

So then the answer to my question is "YES". Men are now free, by the blood of the Passover Lamb, to transgress God's Commandments by our own manmade religious traditions, free to create their own religion, their own judgments, their own image of God in the likeness of man, and Jesus is now our Sin?

Well it is certainly a seductive religion, I can see why so "many" are on the Path.

Thanks for the discussion Behold.

Wow just wow.
The arrogance of some whom claim to follow Christ & be "born again" saying they are a teacher of the word is a stench in the nostrils of truth !

The word of God sets us free but the bondage man imposes is a yoke to heavy to bear of any religious institution.

We must follow the Holy Spirit inspired word that came forth from God, finished by his Son and illuminated by his Spirit to overcome unbelief and live righteous, not men, any men !

Beliefs should be God's word based and can be personal, but it's the walk & talk of so called believers the world and Christendom observes to see the love of God in a person.

Always boasting is a real rejection of his truth.

Salvation is a GIFT OF GOD !

The born again are not created as "new Creations' to then go back under the old covenant.

That's what you preach, but your "Old Covenant" and God's Old Covenant are two completely didn't things. What I advocate for is a man believes ALL that is written.

Rom. 6: 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

That means NO Behold, we should not continue in disobedience to God because we are under grace. Why not? Paul tells you, if you could only believe him.

16 Know ye not, that to whom "ye yield yourselves" servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death,

Sin still brings death to the Body of Christ, both Jew and Gentile even years after the Christ ascended. It's right there, right before your eyes.

But there is another whom you are also free to "Yield yourself" servants to obey.

or of obedience unto righteousness?

What happens to a man who choose this option?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart (Jesus didn't obey for you, as the deceiver would have you believe) that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, (Not free from the definition of Sin, which you imply) ye became the servants of (God's) righteousness. Just as Jesus was a Servant of God's Righteousness.

the only obedience unto righteousness that God offers is that you believe on Jesus and God will give you the Gift of Righteousness.

Again, you must change the subject, and hide from Paul's clear message to the Body of Christ as to why they shouldn't disobey God, because they are under Grace and not under the Law". It brings death back to them. You must therefore ignore Paul here.

This is "imputed righteousness".

See, you don't have any, unless God causes it @Studyman .

Yes, obedience to God is imputed into Righteousness, just as it was for Abraham. That is what Paul teaches.

Yes, obedience to God is imputed into Righteousness, just as it was for Abraham.

The "imputed righteous" is "Christ's", that Paul is discussing that has become the "gift of Righteousness" that is given to every born again believer.

He's a bit later to show up then Abraham.

I know that "Many" who come in Christ's Name, preach that Jesus obeyed God, so that men don't have to "Yield themselves" to keep the commandments. Although this is a very seductive religious philosophy, and a great and very successful marketing Strategy for this world's religious businesses, having created religious empires and with political power and wealth on heard of. The one who conquers will be clothed thus in white garments, and I will never blot his name out of the book of life. I will confess his name before my Father and before his angels. ...

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Hebrews 5:1-9:28

For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. So also Christ did not exalt himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by him who said to him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; ...

Romans 8:1-14:23

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. ...

As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. ...

Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. ...

Behold, I will rebuke your offspring, and spread dung on your faces, the dung of your offerings, and you shall be taken away with it. So shall you know that I have sent this command to you, that my covenant with Levi may stand, says the Lord of hosts. My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house. I know that "Many" who come in Christ's Name, preach that Jesus obeyed God, so that men don't have to "Yield themselves"

Christianity is not bout keeping commandments or law.

As that is just bi-product.., that's a given.

Romans 12:1 is not something NEW to a real Christians.

Romans 12:1 is not something NEW to a real Christians.

It is true that your religion is not about repentance and submitting to God in honor and obedience. On that truth, you have been more than clear.

Really? So then, in your religion, when the Jesus "of the bible", not to be confused with the image of God created by religious men that we see plastered on billboards and manmade shrines of worship etc., commands His People to "Be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect", and a man strives to obey this Jesus, you call this man a fake for striving to obey this same Christ?

So then, in your stated religion, when Paul says;

Phil. 3: 12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: "but I follow after", if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count "not myself" to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

You preach that Paul is only acting, only "Trying to be perfect Like Christ" as he presses toward the Perfection Jesus commanded? And that Paul is not a True Disciple of Christ because if he was truly "Born Again", he would already be perfect even as the God and Father of the Lord's Christ is perfect?

But others, because they transform themself into an Apostle of Christ, and promote the popular image of God created by man after the imagination of their own heart as to how they imagine Him to be, are the true Disciple of Christ.

I understand the Philosophy and the hubris associated with it, being surrounded by it for 65 years. But the Scriptures don't teach any such thing.

Romans 2: 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing "seek for" glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

So if it's not People like Paul and Peter who, from the heart, were "striving against sin" to "be like the Christ of the Bible" and "Walk even as HE walked", as instructed, then who knows Him?

i found in Scripture the only Place where a Christian can have ABSOLUTE PERFECT Obedience unto FATHER/CHRIST/HOLY SPIRIT

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

Absolutely.
Too many today think it is about " themselves ", their theology or opinions.

In truth it is all about " HIM"!

Without him we have no relationship to the Father and cannot follow in obedience or in any merit of our own.

He must increase and we must decrease.

Our testimony is that we believe Jesus is our salvation, and by his death, burial & resurrection we can have eternal life in him ; if we endure until the end of our own lives !

I think men should consider more of what is written in Scriptures before making such a declaration. Who was the accuser accusing? Was it not those faithful men who by "Denying themselves" picking up their cross and "Putting on the New Man, which after God was created in righteousness and true Holiness, became "Servants of God's Righteousness", as Paul teaches in Romans 6? Are these men not those who "let this Mind of Christ be in them"?

Rev. 12: 17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Are you preaching that the dragon only went to make war with those who honored God by keeping His Commandments, and trusted in His Son their Redeemer "AFTER" the accuser was cast down??

Rev. 14: 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith "of Jesus".

Is it your religious philosophy that these men were only capable of "acceptable to God obedience", "After" they entered the Kingdom of God?

I'm not sure the point of your post. Are you saying that men are not to "strive against sin" until after the Christ returns? That when the Jesus "of the Bible" commanded men to "Be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect", HE was deceiving them?

Are you really preaching to others that a man can't "not live in transgression of God's Commandments"??

Do you and Behold teach your children, "Don't listen to God and believe Him, because if you do you will "Never get to Heaven". That's what I am being told?

What did Paul strive for, if not perfect obedience to God? What did Abraham Strive for? Of course, in this world there will be "other voices" in the garden, who profess to know God, "Hath God not said", just as there was in Eve's world, that will work to convince us, "Don't listen to God", you can't obey Him. Follow us on the path "we walk", look at all the other people who are on the same easy, wide and popular path."

What you guys don't get, is that denying ourselves, our traditions, our religions, and "turning to God and Striving for perfect obedience, as Jesus Commanded, "IS" perfect obedience.

Phil. 3: 12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God (Perfection even as our Father is perfect, the same perfection that was) in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, (As God and His Son, Jesus Commanded) be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

So yes, I know there will be men who "come in Christ's Name", who will tell me that if I am trusting the Word of God, which became Flesh, to lead me to the Kingdom of God, "I will never make it".

Nevertheless, I'm placing my Trust in His Word, and not the religious businesses and sects of this world.
