The Hypostatic Union- the 2 Natures in Christ

How many disembodied humans do you know of?
Every human being who has ever died. Everyone's body is still in the grave awaiting the Resurrection. If you lost both legs, do you only become 2/3rds a person?

You don't need a body to be you, our bodies are what allow us to interact with the world. We are souls. Where do you think this soulish nature came from? God right? In His image and likeness. So this soul is in His image and likeness. Where is the soul of God? In the Word, God the Son made flesh (created body, not created soul)

Then explain how Jesus can be human and not possess a human body (pre-Incarnate), in light of your statement below:
Explain how you, made in God's image and likeness can be a soul, if God has no soul.

Why are you making this so hard? Not two persons, one person two natures. If you add another nature at a point in time you have changed His person from having one nature to two natures. You have changed His person by adding another nature. He has always been two natures in one person.

Sheesh!

If young John who was a shop clerk joined the army?
And was trained to be a combat engineer?

He has two different occupations with different externalized behaviors.
Soldier and civilian.

But when seeing him in action in one occupation?
May make you unable to recognize him when seen in the other.
Yet, he is still the same person.

Some will give you peace of mind...

Others, will give you a piece of their mind.

They don’t understand anthropomorphic language. God has eyes, ears, hands etc lol.
There is actually some interesting stuff in Genesis 1 and 2 about the details of God creating man, and the OT Cristophanies (fourth person in the fire with Daniel’s friends) that suggest anthropomorphic language may not be 100% symbolic.

So don’t laugh too hard, or the last laugh may be on you. ;)

Sheesh!

Or.

The Word became flesh.

To become something, you can't already be it.

Nope if the Eternal Son who is uncreated has a soul then so does the Father and Holy Spirit have souls .

I hope you enjoy giant sour Pickles 😂

Yes but we were talking about the Father regarding anthropomorphic language :)

The probiotics of real sour pickles are great for one's health....

The Father does not need a soul. He has His Son for that.

That's correct. He didn't have a body. He has now, an eternal one and we are going to get one just like His. :)

So, He could become flesh but He didn't need to become Soul as He was already Deity and Soul in union.

This is how we can be created in His image and likeness and it is how we can know God. The Word is God in the language of being human.

The fact still remains that all who became human did so with a body. No human was ever born disembodied. I fully understand why you're running away from that fact.
Explain how you, made in God's image and likeness can be a soul, if God has no soul.
Just as easily as God can create us with a body even though He doesn't have one, the same way God can create us with a human soul even though He does not have a human soul.

According to that fuzzy logic?

The Father and Holy Spirit must have human bodies, too.

Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip?
He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

I have known many who are orthodox is regards to Christology.

You teach the Docetism heresy..

What ever is going on here is a first for me. Its a distortion.

One of the most notable of these heresies was known as Docetism. Docetists—from the Greek
word dokeo (“to seem”)—argued that Jesus only appeared to be human. They were so convinced
of his divinity (which is a good thing), they became equally convinced that God could never take
on the fallenness of human flesh. As a result, they argued his humanity was an illusion."

And you would be a Nestorian Kenosis hybrid who believes in 2/3 of the Trinity are soul less :) And one has an eternal human soul . Yikes
