Isaiah 53 the origin of PSA

Being left-handed means the right side of your brain is dominant. That's the creative side, not the analytical thinking side.
I'm aware of that-was a right hander by birth but my mother spanked me every time I used my right hand-so I'm left AND right with a stutter.
So I'm creative AND analytical-a gift from God.

That's weird. Moms usually force their left-handed kids to become right-handed. That was the case with myself and my sister. It must have been some serious damage because I tried to learn to write with my left hand some years ago and failed miserably.

I can write with both hands-and speak a couple of languages and play my guitar-it all comes naturally-so with wildlife painting and everything I set my mind on.

That's amazing. I can't even play my guitar well right-handed anymore. Never tried left-handed. I used to be pretty darn good but age and lack of practice (mostly age and nerve damage) has robbed me of nearly all ability to play.

Brushing up on all the scales of guitar playing-I am sorry to hear re your condition.

I have a bunch of Bibles-but it's late here in South Africa brother-will give you my list tomorrow-God willing.
J.
Here is my primary source of digital and hardcopy Bibles:

1. The Apostolic NT Bible of the Church of Greece. (It contains side-by-side the Byzantine Koine Greek text and the Modern Greek text for the NT).
2. Pocket Interlinear New Testament by Jay P. Green. (It translates the Scrivener edition of Koine Greek Text).
3. Greek New Testament (Both Textus Receptus Text and Byzantine Text)
4. Brenton's English Septuagint (It translates the Rahlfs Koine Greek Text)
5. Greek Old Testament (It contains the Rahlfs Koine Greek Text)
6. New King James Version of the NT. Note: I am not a KJVO advocate.
7. Orthodox Study Bible (thanks for that copy).

I am woefully deficient on the Hebrew side of things. Can you suggest an excellent Hebrew-English interlinear OT? Does one exist for the OT Apocryphal Books, like the Book of Maccabees?

I'll study any work I can find.

The NET Bible online is a free resource I always recommend, not for the translation, but the textual notes.

The best single paid resource I know about it, is the Complete Biblical Library, it includes an interlinear, (really good) lexicon, and (not as good) commentary.

I really enjoy Biblehub. You get all the original translations, the interlinear, all the translations from the Hebrew/Greek, lexicons, cross-references and commentaries. Blue Letter Bible and Bible Study Tools are other good websites.

Are you referring to netbible.org? What NT and OT text is it based on?

It's interesting that it contains a Septuagint translation called Swete's Septuagint. I'll look into it.

I'll do a research brother-the Geneva and Douay Reims have the Apocryphal Books. including Maccabees-and these are the two extra Bibles in my possession. My list is the same as yours.
I use the Berean Hebrew Bible Interlinear-here is a "nice to have" Yiddish Bible-the Orthodox Jewish Bible which I use often-
Just woke up @synergy

Some were not accepted by the Jews as part of the Hebrew Bible canon and the Apocrypha is not part of the historical Jewish canon.

I'd like to limit the Apocrypha collection to that of the LXX. Nevertheless, that looks like an interesting book to collect. Thanks for that information.

It could very well be that the source of the PSA theory has to do with the deviation of the Masoretic OT text from the LXX OT text that the Apostles used to formulate the New Testament. This thread contains evidence that the Masoretic Isaiah 53 promotes PSA whereas the LXX OT does not. Interesting.... Could other purposefully altered Masoretic verses be responsible for other anti-Christian theories?

Also, the JW movement against the Apostles' usage of "Lord" instead of "Jehovah" can easily be attributed to their ignorance or distaste of the LXX.

The Masoretic text also desperately degraded the nature of the Messiah from God down to just human. Unitarianism could very well be a product of that fact.

How about the monergism of Calvinism? How about Islam itself? Could they both have sensed something not quite right with the Jewish altered OT scriptures and offered a much "purer" monotheism? Interesting.....
