Are we under any covenants?

Too bad I do not believe your contrived non contextual analysis

Sorry you speak of everything but the context of 1Pe 1

1 Peter 1:18–25 (KJV 1900) — 18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

which concerns redemption through the blood of Christ

and btw the promise of the holy Spirit is a feature of the new covenant

Jeremiah 31:31–34 (NASB 2020) — 31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. 33 “For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the LORD: “I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 They will not teach again, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they will all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares the LORD, “for I will forgive their wrongdoing, and their sin I will no longer remember.”

It is not like the covenant made with the Fathers

So we have a new covenant in the blood of Christ which is not like the covenant made with the Fathers

Hebrews 7:22 (UASV) — 22 so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.
Hebrews 8:6–10 (UASV) — 6 But now he has attained a more excellent ministry, by as much as he is also mediator of a better covenant which has been enacted upon better promises. 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, occasion would not have been sought for a second. 8 For he finds fault with them when he says: “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will establish a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 9 not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. For they did not continue in my covenant, and so I showed no concern for them, says the Lord. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Hebrews 8:13 (UASV) — 13 In his saying, “a new covenant,” he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
Brother Pete shoots down your interpretation that the Old Testament Law, Psalms, and Prophets "is ready to vanish away." Too bad the writer of Hebrews does not say WHEN it actually will vanish away. Maybe after every jot and tittle has been fulfilled. First, the book of Acts which is the 30-year history of Jewish Christianity through the Jewish Church Christ Promised to build and build He did on the day of the Feast of Harvest when three thousand Jews were born-again and baptized into the Jewish Body of Christ. The book of Acts doesn't have a period at the end, and the structure of the last verse won't even allow a period but this only means that the history of the Jewish Church is still being written and this means the jot and tittle HAS NOT been fulfilled until all is said and done.

But back to brother Pete, he says:

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
(Pete is referring to the Hebrew Scripture of Law, Psalms, and Prophets.)

24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

Now take note...

25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
1 Pe 1:22–25.

Again, referring to the Hebrew Scripture of the Law, Psalms, and the Prophets.

So, although the author of Hebrews does not say WHEN the Word of the Lord is ready to vanish away, brother Pete maintains that the Word of the Lord lives and abides FOREVER. You can't get any clearer than that. It's very straightforward as opposed to your interpretation of Hebrews 8:13 that says "it" is READY to vanish away but doesn't say WHEN it will vanish away. I think that will happened when we all born-again Christians are known face to face, and to do that requires all human history in time is ended and we live with God face to face in eternity.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 1 Co 13:11–12.

There is no end to the Word of God and puny humans do not have the power or authority to end God's Word. So, since it IS God's Word leave Him to what belongs to Him. Stop trying to prove the end of the Word of God because it makes you childish in all your attempts to end God's eternal Word as Pete said, lives and abides FOREVER.

Didn't you get the memo?

Um I am exalting New Covenant scriptures, which you have ignored

Sorry but you have done nothing to show anything posted in contrary to the context and failed to rebut what was stated

Galatians 3:28–29 (KJV 1900) — 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

You have the same faulty view the Jews of Jesus day had.

They believed God's promises assured them of the blessing of salvation but John told them

Matthew 3:9 (NASB 2020) — 9 and do not assume that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father’; for I tell you that God is able, from these stones, to raise up children for Abraham.

See also

Romans 3:27–30 (NASB 2020) — 27 Where then is boasting? It has been excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. 28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. 29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, 30 since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one.

Romans 4:9–17 (NASB 2020) — 9 Is this blessing then on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say, “FAITH WAS CREDITED TO ABRAHAM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.” 10 How then was it credited? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised; 11 and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised. 13 For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the Law are heirs, then faith is made void and the promise is nullified; 15 for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no law, there also is no violation. 16 For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 (as it is written: “I HAVE MADE YOU A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS”) in the presence of Him whom he believed, that is, God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that do not exist.
As you can see by the text of Romans Saul is writing to Jewish Christians and his words need to be taken in context to the recipients of his letter. Every "book" from Matthew to Revelation is written by a Jewish Christians and to the Jews and other Jewish Christians and you should know better. How many times must I post Genesis 17:6-7 that records God's covenant with Abram the Hebrew is to and for Abram the Hebrew and his eventual Hebrew offspring or seed.

You keep trying to add to the Word of God by adding non-Hebrew Gentiles into the three Hebrew Covenants. Did you see that? There are three Hebrew Covenants and NONE of them include non-Hebrew Gentiles.
Stop already. Or you're going to be "ready to vanish away."

Today, God does not judge a Jew who is in Christ any different than a Gentile who is in Christ, nor will He in the next life. God doesn't judge anyone by their ethnicity, only by whether they are in Christ or not in Christ.

Subject Heading:- Are we under any covenants?
Precious friends, for your prayerful and Careful consideration:

"When the Bible speaks of covenants in the specific sense, it is speaking of the covenants given to God’s chosen nation Israel. No one today in the dispensation of Grace is a partaker of the covenants which are made between Israel and God.

Hebrews 8:7 speaks of the first covenant and the second covenant given to Israel. The first covenant describes the Law as given to Israel at Horeb:

The second covenant, or ‘better covenant’, is the ‘new covenant’ also given to Israel (Heb 8:13, 12:24).

And again in Jeremiah:

Knowing that the covenants were given to Israel and Judah, Paul stated concerning his brethren according to the flesh, Israel,

Gentiles and the Body of Christ

The covenants were between God and Israel regarding their future redemption as spoken of by the prophets since the world began. However, Gentiles in time past as well as those in the body
of Christ today are not a part of the covenants.

Paul says,

In order for a Gentile in time past to get the blessings of God they had to follow the provisions of the covenant. (See “Did Gentiles in the Old Testament get saved?” for more.) However, they were estranged from the covenants given to Israel.

During the dispensation of Grace, believers receive the benefits of the redemptive work of Christ
on the cross outside of any covenant relationship. It was purely by God’s grace that we receive
eternal life and the blessings associated with salvation. Otherwise grace would not be grace
(Romans 11:6).

Today there is neither Jew nor Gentile. There is no special status before God for any nation today.

Instead of a covenant providing the necessary terms of redemption, believers today are
of the same body and partakers of the promise in Christ by the gospel of the grace of God
(Eph 3:6, Titus 1:2-3). We receive the mercy and the grace of God apart from our adherence
to any covenant given in time past, we receive it by faith (Romans 5:1, 8-10)."

(Tit.1:2 )

Hello @Grace ambassador,

How wonderful to know that we have the promise of eternal life, in Christ Jesus. A promise made by God before the world began. Thus preceding the covenants made with Israel, and secured to us (believing Jew and Gentile) in God's Own Beloved Son, our Saviour, Lord and Head: Christ Jesus, risen and glorified, and sat at God's right hand.

We do not rob Israel of anything. Why should we want to? For we are COMPLETE in Christ Jesus (Col. 2:10) our Head.

Praise His Holy Name!

In Christ Jesus

Ephesians 2:11–19 (KJV 1900) — 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

Jeremiah1five would have men to believe gentiles are still strangers to the covenants of promise contrary to the word of God

No, I haven't ignored it. I have understood it. Jesus Christ died for those under the Law, under the schoolmaster, and that people are the children of Jacob/Israel.

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. Gal. 4:4–5.

Saul understood it, too, which is why he said in Romans, "and ALL ISRAEL shall be saved" thus fulfilling God's promise to Abraham that his seed will be as the stars of heaven and the sand on the seashore.

All three Hebrew covenants are between God and His chosen people, the seed of Abraham.

And only a fool will contradict God who said His Word is alive and forever.

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 1 Peter 1:23.

See, it's your faulty interpretation of Hebrews 8:13 that is in error. The New Covenant is alive and well and Israel is the recipient of that covenant. Peter's words above are as clear as can be. Nothing God says or has said is only temporary, but eternal. The Word of God does not "abolish," "obsolete" or "vanish away." It is alive and abides FOREVER.

Sorry but you are wrong again. When are you going to obey Peter?

Um all that believe on Christ are Abraham's seed

Galatians 3:28–29 (KJV 1900) — 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

you ignored scripture once again

Except that is not the whole story

Galatians 3:28–29 (KJV 1900) — 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

You have the same faulty view the Jews of Jesus day had.

They believed God's promises assured them of the blessing of salvation but John told them

Matthew 3:9 (NASB 2020) — 9 and do not assume that you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father’; for I tell you that God is able, from these stones, to raise up children for Abraham.

as well as

Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised; 11 and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them, 12 and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised.

you attempt to deny the whole based on the partial

Yep

Galatians 3:28–29 (KJV 1900) — 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Jeremiah1five has the same faulty view the Jews of Jesus day had.

Ephesians 2:11–19 (KJV 1900) — 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

Jeremiah1five would have men to believe gentiles are still strangers to the covenants of promise contrary to the word of God
'Wherefore remember,
that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh,
who are called Uncircumcision
by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
That at that time ye were without Christ,
being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel,
and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:
But now in Christ Jesus ye
who sometimes were far off are made nigh
by the blood of Christ.'

(Eph 2:11)

Hello @TomL,

Yes. praise God, for those two little words:- 'But now'. We are made nigh unto God by the blood of Christ, The state of the Gentiles by nature is 'without Christ': Their state by grace is expressed by the opposite 'in Christ Jesus'. In the flesh the Gentile has no place; his only hope of life and blessing is 'in the spirit', and 'in Christ'.

'For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners,
but fellow-citizens with the saints,
and of the household of God;'

(Eph 2:18-19)

Praise God! For His wondrous grace!

In Christ Jesus

Subject Heading:- 'Are We Under any Covenants?'

'Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ,
according to the faith of God's elect,
and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
In hope of eternal life,
which God, that cannot lie,
promised before the world began;

But hath in due times manifested His word through preaching,
which is committed unto me
according to the commandment of God our Saviour;
'
(Titus 1:1-3)

The answer to that question (above),' Are we under any covenants?' in regard to the gentile believer is NO. We have the promise of life in Christ Jesus; but the covenants were, and will be, given to the children of Israel.

I'm still waiting for you to prove non-Hebrew Gentiles are in the Abraham Covenant from Genesis 12, 15, and 17 when the covenant was originally made between God, Abram the Hebrew and with his seed. There is no mentioned by God of non-Hebrew Gentiles in this covenant or in any of the other two Hebrew Covenants. Your interpretation of Galatians 3:28-29 breaks and violates Scripture. Your interpretation ADDS to the Bible things that are just not there in the Bible.

I receive the Scripture as written. I do not add to the Bible as you do, which a true born-again Christian is taught early on not to do.

Actually you do not. You ignore the New Testament when it contradicts your beliefs
