God didn't hold anything against Jesus.
It was a moment on the Cross in our stead.
Not just ubiquitously.
God didn't hold anything against Jesus.
ImCo:You cannot say Adam and Eve do NOT deserve God's wrath for their sin and understand what salvation even means.
Sinners are destroyed by HIS wrath OR by HIS grace
They are / were never condemned nor under HIS wrath
It was a moment on the Cross in our stead.
Not just ubiquitously.
But God held the blame against us, not Jesus, and Jesus took the bullet.
The bullet.
Our bullet IS our blame.
And Jesus took it.
It sure does - which means that when we chose to be sinners our nature changed to become enslaved to sin so if nature was all we had to go by, then we were subject to wrathScripture says we were all a child of wrath by nature.
So you don't believe in substitution. Also, Jesus did this in spite of all the pain and suffering he faced from the moment He was arrested until He was on the cross. I didn't say God was angry at Him. What was held against us, which is death for sin and all that comes with that, was instead held against Christ. That is, He bore our sin as the innocent Lamb of God, was crushed by God (As Isaiah 53 says), and willingly (totally willingly) bore it, and could still pray what He prayed. If you cannot figure out why He would, you need to do more soul searching. Think about what Paul wrote to the church about their pride. He said that they should be humble as Christ was humble and humbled Himself in coming to Earth in the first place, to be spited by men, and crucified on a cross for what is basically no reason, outside of God's plan of redemption.God didn't hold anything against Jesus. Jesus just took the bullet that was due us. He prayed for others ...
Luke 23:34 (KJV) Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
He would not have asked this if God was angry at Him.
This photo describes the truth regarding this issue.PSA is the chief and controlling theory for the atonement that's taught in the Bible. And it fits the central biblical teaching of salvation.
The case for PSA has been taught by the Church since it's earliest days, My belief is it comes directly from a careful, thoughtful study of Scripture, which from beginning to end points toward the sacrificial death of Jesus.
It is defined by J. I. Packer as the conviction that the atonement involves “the innocent taking the place of the guilty, in the name and for the sake of the guilty, under the axe of God’s judicial retribution." It's the doctrine that God inflicted upon Christ the suffering which we deserved as the punishment for our sins, as a result of which we no longer deserve punishment.
The Bible speaks with a clear and united witness about PSA. Christ our Passover lamb has been sacrificed. The Servant was pierced for our transgressions. He died, as Caiaphas prophesied, in the place of the people. He was set forth as a propitiation for our sins. He became a curse for us, bearing our sins in his body on the tree, drinking for us the cup of God’s wrath, giving his life as a ransom for many.
Me?Who do you think made hell?
according to Jesus, it appears it was prepared for the devil and his angels.God just woke up and found out hell exists one day?!
Right.Yes, God is the One who sends to hell.
Let us honor his authority and holiness.
But bring here those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, and slay them before me. (Lk. 19:27 NKJ)
