Man does not CHOOSE God.

Man is UNABLE to seek God apart from Christ.
Good morning Kermos....been away a couple of days and I see many alerts from you.

You say man is UNABLE to seek God.
This is what Total Depravity is all about.

IF man is unable to seek God....
then why does the bible, both the OT and the NT COMMAND us to seek God?
In Calvinism, is God in the business of commanding His creatures to do things He predestinated them to be unable to do?
A strange God Calvinists serve.

Let's see what the bible says about seeking God, Perhaps you could reconcile this conflict:

Here's what Jesus said:

Matthew 4:17
17From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Jesusis instructing us to REPENT because the Kingdom of God is at hand.
This is an INSTRUCTION. Jesus is instructing us on what to do BECAUSE the Kingdom is at hand.

Jesus further INSTRUCTS us toSEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD:
Matthew6:33
33“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Please note that Jesus is telling us WHAT TO DO....He's telling us TO SEEK the Kingdom.

More on seeking God:

Acts 17:27
27That they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,

Hebrews 11:6

6And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Jeremiah 29:13

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Deuteronomy 4:29

But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

Psalm 9:10

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

Matthew 7:7-8

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Psalm 14:2

The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God.

Isaiah 55:6-7

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Psalm 119:2

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart,

James 4:8

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Amos 5:4

For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek me and live;

God COMMANDS man to seek Him and assures us that GOD CAN BE FOUND.

Jesus' atonement is exclusively for God's chosen people.
You say that Jesus' atonement is only for the saved.
But the bible disagrees with you.
Even some Reformed/Calvinist theologians cannot agree with this doctrine:
Jesus' atonement/sacrifice is for forgiveness of all sin for all people.

1 John 2:2

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

Titus 2:11

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people,

Hebrews 2:9

But we see him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

1 John 4:14

And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

1 Timothy 4:10

For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

2 Corinthians 5:15

And he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.

John 1:29

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

1 Timothy 2:4

Who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:5-6

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.

2 Corinthians 5:19

That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

John 4:42

They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

God's Grace cannot be resisted.

God's grace CAN be resisted.
Jesus Himself has said so, and Paul.
Why do you trust John Calvin more than Jesus?

Matthew 23:37
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

Hebrews 12:15
See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God;
that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

What can be clearer than the following?

Acts 7:51
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.

Romans 2:4-5
Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.

2 Corinthians 6:1
Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

Galatians 5:4
You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace.

Man has a self-will in unsaved individuals or a will bearing the image of Christ in saved individuals; moreover, no other type of will exists for man.
Agreed.
The unsaved man thinks only about himself and some think even of others....the philanthropists, for example.
However, this is inconsequential to God UNLESS man thinks of God in his actions....and this will be the saved person.

The ABOVE is what you will never show to be incorrect.

Man does not CHOOSE God.
Man DOES choose God.

John 3:14-16
14 "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.
16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

WHOEVER believes will have eternal life.

John 3:36
26 "If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also; if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

IF we want to serve Jesus, we MUST FOLLOW HIM....This is a command that we choose to obey or not.
IF we serve Jesus, God will honor us and give us over to Jesus for salvation:
John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:

The Father DRAWS....
Man answers....
Man is saved by Jesus.

John 1:12
12 But as
many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,

We RECEIVE Jesus in order to follow Him...
in order to be called children of God.

Receiving is an action WE TAKE.

We are free to accept God's grace or to reject it.

This is Truth (John 14:6).
The Word of God “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) nullifies your thought's first point of "
God does not CHOOSE who will be saved" before you even scribed it.

John 15:16 is Jesus addressing the Apostles.
JESUS CHOSE the Apostles if you recall.
ALL theologians agree to this EXCEPT the reformed who must twist scripture to fit their belief system.

And yes, GOD DOES NOT ARBITRARILY CHOOSE WHO WILL BE SAVED.
This would be an unjust God....which is exactly how Calvinism portrays God.
God gives to EACH AND EVERY PERSON the opportunity to become saved.
THIS is the JUST GOD of the bible.
God is not partial and would want all to be saved.
Romans 2:11
11 For there is no partiality with God.

Acts 10:34
34 Opening his mouth, Peter said: "I most certainly * understand now that God is not one to show partiality,

Man is UNABLE to seek God apart from Christ.
This is Truth (John 14:6).
The Word of God “he who practices the Truth comes to the Light, that his works may be revealed, that they are having been worked in God” (John 3:21) nullifies your thought's second point of "
Man is ABLE to seek God [apart from God]" before you even scribed it.

You'll have to go up above and read all the scripture on seeking God.
You'll have to reconcile YOUR statement that we are unable to seek God
with what the bible states.

IF you can do that,,,,I'll have to begin to hear you.

Jesus' atonement is exclusively for God's chosen people.
This is Truth (John 14:6).
The Word of God “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the Truth. Everyone who is of the Truth hears My voice” (John 18:37) and "I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except because of Me" (John 14:6) and "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28) ("many" is the Word, not "
EVERYONE") nullifies your thought's second point of "Jesus atonement is for EVERYONE" before you even scribed it.

God's Grace cannot be resisted.
This is Truth (John 14:6).
This deductive reasoning

  • God loves Daphne of the world before and after Daphne hears of Christ. Daphne chose to love/believe in Christ, so God rewards Daphne with eternal life.
  • God loves Fred of the world before and after Fred hears of Christ. Fred chose not to love/believe in Christ, so God punishes Fred with eternal death.
  • Conclusion: the Love of God is so very weak that people like Fred draw the Love of God to burn in hell for eternity according to your Free-willian Philosophy.
shows your thought's third point of "God's grace can be resisted" results in God's love forever burning in hell according to your thoughts.

Man has a self-will in unsaved individuals (2 Peter 2:9-10) or a will bearing the image of Christ in saved individuals (Romans 8:29); moreover, no other type of will exists for man.
This is Truth (John 14:6).
In the absence of the Word of God declaring man was imparted a free-will, your heart (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) awards yourself a free-will with your self-assigned God power "Man has Free Will" of your thought's fifth point. God never imparted Adam nor you nor anyone with a free-will, but you were created with a self-will (2 Peter 2:9-10).

So, your Free-willian Philosophy folds into itself causing catastrophic confusion and calamity inside your self-willed (2 Peter 2:9-10) distorted non-gospel points (Galatians 1:7) - you believe Jesus Christ is not who Lord Jesus Christ says He is!

In other words, your points after "God does not CHOOSE who will be saved" are smashed because your leading point is demolished.

You're repeating yourself.
Have already replied to all of the above.

Please respond by showing me how Christianity is wrong and Calvinism is right.

You and @Jim are doing an outstanding job—keep up the great work!

J.

As @TomL said:
Mark 16:15 (LEB) — 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

We all know that the chosen are scattered around the world.

Why can you not understand what ALL means?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You keep harping on my inability to understand scripture...................................................................

Truly the pot calling the kettle black when you cannot understand the meaning of ALL.
He has his own dictionary replete with meaning designed to support his theology.

Apparently, you dispute that God makes absolutely everyone everywhere in all time, yet, you see, according to Free-willian Philosophy, God damns some people to hell. Notice the hypocrisy of your argument.
The above makes no sense.
However, what I was addressing is the fact that God is a God of Love and a good God.

And a God that puts most of humanity in hell FOR NO RASON OTHER THAN HIS OWN GOOD PLEASURE...
is NOT a good God.

So maybe you were trying to address this?

God is the Just Judge "I, the LORD, love justice, I hate robbery in the burnt offering; And I will faithfully give them their recompense And make an everlasting covenant with them" (Isaiah 61:8).

You are confusing the goodness of God with the justice of God.
Actually, no, Kermos.
What I state is this:
GOD IS LOVE
GOD IS MERCIFUL
GOD IS JUST

God is all THREE.
Calvinists do not give God credit for ANY of the above 3 attributes of God.
In Calvinism
GOD IS NOT LOVING
GOD IS NOT MERCIFULù
GOD IS NOT JUST

Please explain what justice means.
THEN explain how, in Calvinism, God is a just God.

God is good without regard to whether God saves anyone at all; in other words, God is good independent of salvation for man.
Oh really.
So God is a good god if He creates nature and humanity....
and then, FOR NO REASON AT ALL, sends most of humanity to hell?

And you say this is justice because we're all doomed from the womb?
THIS IS NOT JUSTICE kermos.

Please reply to my above questions about justice.
APPARENTLY, you don't know what JUSTICE means.

I praise God for choosing to be the salvation of man!
Amen to that!
You do not know the goodness of God because if you knew the goodness of God, then you would not have formulated your questions.
How about replying to my questions insead?
Or are you just wasting our time?

Plaease explain WHAT MAKES GOD BE A GOOD GOD.

You free-willians commit robbery in the offering with your "apart from Christ, I chose to believe in Christ so Christ must profit me with salvation".
It's why God is a good God Kermos.
WE CHOOSE to believe in God....
and THIS IS OUR SALVATION.

Again:
John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,

God is good Kermos...
because IF we RECIEVE Him....we will be saved.

THAT is also justice.
You believe you buy your way into heaven with your natural fleshly free-will faith payment in your "apart from Christ, I chose to believe in Christ so Christ must profit me with salvation", yet the Christ of us Christians declares "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing" (The Word of God, John 15:5) and "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation) and “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are Spirit and are Life” (John 6:63), so you believe falsehood (2 Peter 2:1, 2 Peter 2:9-10).

Be assured, Lord Jesus Christ speaks to all Christians in all time with Christ's loving words recorded in John 15:16 and (John 15:19 as previously shown to you in post #6,543.

Be assured Kermos....
that God is not too happy with those that CHANGE HIS CHARACTER into a God that is
NOT LOVING
NOT MERCIFUL
NOT JUST

You would be upset with a friend that spewed lies about you to others and
MISREPRESENTED your character.

Imagine how God must feel about those that misrepresent the character of the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE.

NOT GOOD.

See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God;
that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

Agreed.
The unsaved man thinks only about himself and some think even of others....the philanthropists, for example.
However, this is inconsequential to God UNLESS man thinks of God in his actions....and this will be the saved person.

Man DOES choose God.

John 3:14-16
14 "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up;
15 so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.

You'll have to go up above and read all the scripture on seeking God.
You'll have to reconcile YOUR statement that we are unable to seek God
with what the bible states.

IF you can do that,,,,I'll have to begin to hear you.

You're repeating yourself.
Have already replied to all of the above.

Please respond by showing me how Christianity is wrong and Calvinism is right.
Amen

Wishful thinking on your part. If you think John Owen assumed anything then go back and take those seen seven sections (but one would be nice,) the one I posted, and prove it yourself. The only person here that has an incorrect understanding would be you Mr. Tom.
Sorry, if The atonement is provisional but applied only to those who believe then Owen's argument has no force at all.

And the assumption is clearly shown here

The Father imposed His wrath due unto, and the Son underwent punishment for, either:

1. All the sins of all men, or

2. All the sins of some men, or

3. Some of the sins of all men.

In which case it may be said:

1. That if the last be true, all men have some sins to answer for, and so, none are saved.

2. That if the second be true, then Christ, in their stead suffered for all the sins of all the elect in the whole world, and this is the truth.

3. But if the first be the case, why are not all men free from the punishment due unto their sins?

It is clear he holds if Christ died for ones sins then they should be free from punishment

He assumed atonement made is atonement applied.

You both are in error

@MTMattie

The question should be......... why would anyone think it is written for anyone else other than God's children?

To whom were the epistles written to? You answer that question. Truly, who can understand them,? Not the unregenerate. The word of God is for God's children.....

2 Timothy 3:16

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

The man of God is a collective noun meaning all who worship God and teach, preach his word.
LOL
Paul was writing to TIMOTHY....
telling HIM what it takes to be a good PREACHER/TEACHER.

We all can gain from all scripture.....
but some REALLY is not meant for us.

Do you think John 20:22-23 is meant for all Christians??
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 "
If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained."

Yes man has an ability to believe as long as not hardened

John 12:40 (KJV 1900) — 40 He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

God blinded men to prevent their belief. Why would God blind someone who had no ability to see?

Why prevent from believing those who had no capacity for belief

Luke notes had men not grown hardened they could have believed

Acts 28:27 (KJV 1900) — 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

unregenerate men are shown to receive the word with joy and believe

Luke 8:13 (KJV 1900) — 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

yes in grave error for sure.

@ProDeo

You can not properly defend what you believe and as a result of that you post the above, a no-brainier and an excuse not to answer 2 simple yes or no questions.

Lol So quit asking me, Im not wasting my time with laborious answers to satisfy someone who is in staunch opposition. Ive done all that for years, I know its fruitless. I will give what I perceive as truth, and explain that, but dont expect me to explain an opposers 25 verses they go find, and say, now explain these, and they never explained them, duh

What part of all creation could you not understand?

Mark 16:15 (LEB) — 15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Duh, you are embarrassing yourself.
okay and ? In case you weren't aware, the elect are scattered around the world. Duh

Agreed-
The hardening of the heart is a good little study.
God never hardens our heart because He wishes that all men could come to be saved.
The two ideas would conflict.

We read of the hardening of Pharaoh's heart,,,
but did it begin with God or with Pharaoh?
Exodus shows both to be correct and in conjunction with each other.

Pharaoh hardened his heart:
Exodus 8:32

God hardened his heart:
Exodus 4:21/7:3/9:12

My understanding of this would go to
Romans 1:26 GOD GAVE THEM OVER TO THE LUSTS IN THEIR HEARTS

IOW...Man decides to reject God.
God tries to save man.
But ultimately, God must leave man to his own free will and abandon him...
in THIS sense, God hardens hearts.

It would be like God causing Chaos in Isaiah 45:7
It's not so much that God actually CAUSES the chaos...but that in removing
Himself from the situation...chaos will ensue.

You're still stuck in the obsolete, vanishing away old covenant.

(Heb 8:13) In that He says, “ A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

It's time to embrace the New Covenant, that embraces Gentiles, starting with the Lord's Supper. Read up on the Lords Supper in the link below:

Embrace the New Covenant? You mean this New Covenant?

31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD,
That I will make a new covenant
With the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers
In the day that I took them by the hand
To bring them out of the land of Egypt;
Which my covenant they brake,
Although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel;
After those days, saith the LORD,
I will put my law in their inward parts,
And write it in their hearts;
And will be their God,
And they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying,
Know the LORD:
For they shall all know me,
From the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD:
For I will forgive their iniquity,
And I will remember their sin no more.
Jeremiah 31:31–34.

This is the Biblical New Covenant, a New Covenant that does not include non-Hebrew Gentiles.
Unless you want to add to the Bible things and doctrines not there - like Gentiles in the New Covenant or raptures.

I find no Gentiles named, mentioned, or included in the New Covenant God makes with the House of ISRAEL and the House of JUDAH.

Truly the pot calling the kettle black when you cannot understand the meaning of ALL.
okay and ? In case you weren't aware, the elect are scattered around the world. Duh

The Grace of God means exactly “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to babes” (Matthew 11:25).
So you take Matthew 11:25 literally?
This means that wise and intelligent persons cannot know the gospel because God hides it from them.
It means that God should not have picked Paul to be an (honorary) Apostle because he was very learned.
Did God make a mistake?

WHY do you take some verses literally and not others?

And, by the time we finish reviewing and dissecting your heart's treasure (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) about Matthew chapter eleven, your last state will be worse than the first.

You impose your free-will adulteration as a replacement for the Word of God thusly:
The traditions of menThe Word of God
If you are free-willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
(GodsGrace 11:14)
If you are willing to receive it, this is Elijah, who is to come.
(Matthew 11:14)
and the Apostle Paul wrote "it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure" (Philippians 2:13), so your heart believes your sovereignty of man eliminating the Sovereignty of God, and so goes your adulteration of the Holy Word of God.
Sovereignty of God.
Sovereignty of man.

What nonsense Kermos.
TRY TO DO BETTER.

ALL CHRISTIANS believe God is sovereign.
Your thesis is MOOT.

And...we also all believe that God is at work in us.
It's just that He doesn't PREDESTINATE EACH AND EVERY ACTION OF MAN.

If you are AT WORK making a car...the car is not made yet.
It is BEING MADE.
God is MAKING US into our sanctified selves.
With the help of the Holy Spirit.

You have to resort to scirpture that DOES NOT uphold your doctrines
because your doctrines are INCORRECT and created by a MAN and not by GOD.

John Calvin, and his cohorts, were NOT INSPIRED.

Follow Jesus if you want to call yourself a Christian.
NOT JOHN CALVIN...which is why you're called a Calvinist.

The loving Christ of us Christians opens our ears to hear the Word of God in Truth (John 14:6):
And looking up to heaven, He sighed deeply and said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!"). Immediately the man’s ears were opened and his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.
(Mark 7:34-35)
But you do not believe Christ does the wonders that He does, instead, you believe you open your own self-willed ears (2 Peter 2:9-10).

Mark 7:34-35
Jesus performed a miracle and made a deaf man hear.
WHY DO YOU NOT TAKE THIS scripture literally???

You really are confused Kermos...sorry if I have to state this.

You take a scripture literally or non literally depending on how it suits you.

I have no problem with the verses you've stated.
Apparently you think you're proving something that you are NOT proving.
Now, look at "he who has ears to hear, let him hear." (Matthew 11:15) and see that "He who has ears to hear" is made by Christ as part of the born again, new man.
Oh for goodness sake.
HE WHO HAS EARS TO HEAR LET HIM HEAR.

Thanks for proving free will.
IF WE WANT to hear Jesus we will.
IF you're willing to hear, then you will.

YOU think this means that Jesus opens up the ears of those HE wants to hear?
You're more confused than I thought.

Why not do this instead of wasting time and energ?
POST SOME VERSES THAT SHOW THAT MAN HAS NO FREE WILL.

That would be better.
Of course, you won't find any,,,
which is why you have to resort to nonsense.

Your heart (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) really adulterates the Word of God, here:
The traditions of menThe Word of God
he who has free-will ears that WANTS TO hear, let him use his ABLE ears apart from Me to hear.
(GodsGrace 11:15)
he who has ears to hear, let him hear.
(Matthew 11:15)
and Lord Jesus Christ declares “he who practices the Truth comes to the Light, that his works may be revealed, that they are having been worked in God” (John 3:21), so your heart believes your sovereignty of man eliminating the Sovereignty of God, and so goes your adulteration of the Holy Word of God.

As a reminder, you tried to nullify the Word of God recorded in John 3:21 in order to conform to your fraudulent free-will as shown in post #6,580, but you failed.

Note that you wrote "Jesus was addressing the current generation of Jews" regarding Matthew 11:16-19. You perform the action as if there is no other application by Jesus. But, more about audience and applicability later.

You ears do not hear because you wrote "sounds like Free Will", and here is the Spiritual proof:
The word of GodsGraceThe Word of God
Then He began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles were done, because they did not free-will choose to repent.
(GodsGrace 11:20)
Then He began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent.
(Matthew 11:20)
and Lord Jesus Christ declares repentance in man is controlled by God when Christ says shortly later in the same dialog "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to babes" (Matthew 11:25), so you adulterate the Holy Word of God.

Lord Christ's prayer is absolutely beautiful:
I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to babes
(Lord Jesus Christ, Matthew 11:25).
Already replied to.
Why do you repeat yourself?

I thank You, Father, for revealing your Son, my Savior, to me, I am so unworthy and utterly inept in my own initiative, but You are almighty, the crown of wisdom, and worthy of all PRAISE!!!

You have provided a number of points of departure for examining your heart's treasure (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21), and a journey begins with the first step.

Your "God does not keep His promises hidden" conveys your heart's deeper sentiment nullifying the Word of God recorded in (Matthew 11:25) because the Lord says You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent.
The gnostics believed as you do:
That ONLY THEY were allowed to know some things about God.
ONLY THEY had hidden knowledge.

They were GNOSTICS Kermos.
NOT CHRISTIANS.

If you want to believe God keeps His word hidden,,,,,
you'll have to explain why Jesus preached for over 3 years,
and why He ended dead for having done so.
The Pharisees feared Jesus.
And Jesus KNEW He was going to Jerusalem for the last time.

Yes...please explain WHY God would keep His word hidden.
I deserve wrath and punishment, but You, Holy Father, reached down into the catastrophy that was me, and You, Good Father, delivered me with Your Mercy and Grace and Peace! Thank You, Jesus, for cleansing me!

With your "Jesus was happy that God had taught His ways to the Apostles", your thoughts adulterate the Word of God by wrongly restricting affected individuals in a like manner to where you adulterate the Word recorded in John 15:16 and John 15:19; furthermore, you wrote "the Pharisees were NOT WILLING to learn". As a result of all that, here are your adversarial thoughts against God's thoughts:
GodsGrace's thoughtsHoly God's Thoughts
I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that the wise and intelligent Pharisees, who were unwilling to be taught, chose to hide these things from themselves and the Apostles, who free-will chose to learn from God and reveal to themselves these things
(GodsGrace 11:25)
I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to babes
(Matthew 11:25)
so Lord Jesus Christ declares repentance in man is controlled by God because the Word of God says "no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him" (Matthew 11:27) in the same dialog, so your heart adulterates the Holy Word of God.

Your "Hermeneutics" are truly your extreme opposition to the Word of God.

You think, in your free-will, that you are among the wise and intelligent because your flesh is free-will wise and intelligent enough to choose to believe in Jesus according to your Free-willian Philosophy. God's beauty is right in front of you as recorded in Matthew 11:25, yet your ears hear not the beautiful sound of the Voice of Truth (John 14:6).

You're glorifying yourself Kermos.
Just as most Calvinists do.
THANK YOU FATHER FOR SAVING ME.
THIS is not the humbleness Jesus wants from you.
It is PRIDE.

Calvinists are proudful persons.

A free-willian can not see the Kingdom of God because one must be born of God to see the Kingdom of God. Just look above (Part 6 & 7) at how in your heart (Matthew 15:16-19, Matthew 6:21) you brutalize the Word of God recorded in Matthew 11:25.

In John 3 Jesus speaks only of having to be born again to see the Kingdom of God.

Those in the Kingdom of God are not proudful such as YOU are Kermos.
Calvinists re those that brutalize not only the WORD of God...
BUT GOD HIMSELF.

You make God out to be a being with NO LOVE, NO MERCY, AND NO JUSTICE.

And answer my posts please instead of posting this nonsense.
You are apparently UNABLE to reply to members' posts so you post your silly comments instead.

Anyone reading along (from the outside and that do not belong to this forum) can see right through you
and can understand why incorrect doctrine you are espousing.

REPLY TO MY POSTS PLEASE.
EXPLAIN WHY I'M WRONG WITH SCRIPTURE.
Thanks.

You wrote "NO CHRISTIAN believes he saves himself", and I can prove that YOU believe you save yourself.

You believe that you are saved if and only if you free-will choose to believe in Jesus; moreover, you believe that you would have been unsaved without you free-will choosing Jesus; therefore, your being saved hinges entirely upon your free-will choosing to believe in Jesus.

The Blood of Christ shed on the cross, that is, the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, again, the Savior of the world is insufficient to save you from the wrath of God because you believe one more "step" beyond Christ's work must be executed by your own free-will that you must choose to believe in Christ for you to be saved according to your Free-willian Philosophy.

Your statement "NO CHRISTIAN believes he saves himself" is true, and you believe that you are your own savior.
Already replied to.
Am waiting for scripture that debunks my notion that we MUST CHOOSE to follow Christ in order to be saved.

PLEASE POST scripture that clearly states that God MUST CHOOSE, BASED ON NOTHING, WHO will be saved.

Anything less will be of no value.

Thanks.

The Holy Spirit reveals that the gift of God is when a person believes in Jesus, and the Holy Spirit reveals that when a person believes in Jesus, that person's belief in Jesus is not of that person's self:
by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, [it is] the gift of God"

Paul is in accord with Jesus the Lord who says “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29).

You are out of accord from Jesus the Lord because you believe "I free-will choose to believe in God all by myself".

Sweet.
I am OUT OF ACCORD because I chose to follow Jesus.

BUT YOU Kermos
are OUT OF ACCORD because you misrepresent God.
You blaspheme God.
Attributing to HIM the evil that satan does.

YOU attribute to GOD the sins that men do....all EVIL that men do since YOU believe that
God predestinated EVERY SINGLE ACTION OF MAN.....
Even the movement of every dust mite in the air...
THIS IS THE TEACHING OF CALVINISM.

Calvinism is heretical.
Calvinism is blasphemous.

And YOU think I'M out of accord?

THINK AGAIN.

Embrace the New Covenant? You mean this New Covenant?

31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD,
That I will make a new covenant
With the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers
In the day that I took them by the hand

Oh my.
So you DO believe that only Jews are in the New Covenant!
I don't know why anyone is even debating this with you...
it's a bit over the top!!
