Yes unbelievers benefit from being in election union with Christ. By His death for them, He turns them from their unbelief iniquity, For instance Acts 3 :26
26 ;Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
Rom 11:26,27
And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
What is the primary iniquity of Israel but unbelief of the Messiah ?
Well Jesus takes it away, so all Israel, which is the Body of Christ shall be saved from unbelief, their iniquity and ungodliness

Acts 3:26 (NASB95) — 26 “For you first, God raised up His Servant and sent Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways.”
And nothing in the verse above speaks of an unconditional, irresistible imposition of faith.

The Gospel in and of itself is only letter, It's the power of God that makes it effective to believing. Paul wrote 1 Thess 1:5
For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Who said He believes for people?
You do know the Holy Spirit does not indwell unbelievers.
Nor does he impose faith.
