The Lords Prayer does not teach Calvinism

Did Jesus get it all wrong ?
According to Calvin and Calvinism Jesus got it all wrong.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

In Calvinism everything that occurs is Gods will both good and evil. But Jesus above doesn't know that to be true. Jesus teaches the disciples for Gods will to be done on earth as it is done in heaven. That means Gods will on earth isn't happening like it is in heaven.

Calvinists you have a dilemma with Jesus understanding of Gods will. Jesus is the final authority on the truth and what its True. The calvinists position on Gods will, the will of God is untrue.

hope this helps !!!

If Jesus assumes a Calvinistic position there would be no need to pray for God’s will to be done; predetermination would make it a done deal!

Excellent insight!

Let's compare these three statements, and all can pick what is valid and true.

Option One
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

Option Two
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name your kingdom come, and you've already ordained everything so your will is being done on earth as it is in heaven.

Option Three
Our Father who are in heaven, hallowed be your name, thy kingdom come, and show people your will is being done regardless of what they see.

I think all might be wise and prudent to stay with Option One. I trust and hope our Calvinists friends will set aside 2 and 3.

Anyway good post Civic!

Amen once we remove our theology from the clear reading of the text we can see what the text is actually saying or not saying.

There's nothing in the Lord's prayer that addresses either Calvinism or free will. Your rage against Calvinism is tiresome. Give it a rest.

Yeah we need to pray thy will be done on earth, because it isn't. Therefore, hyper determinism is non-representative of Christianity.
