Salvation by Grace through Faith

You are stuck with the fact,

Galatians 3:14 (KJV 1900) — 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The Spirit is received through faith, and Calvinists are on record claiming the Spirit is received so that one might have faith.
You cant understand the truth that I expound.

Until one is regenerated and given a new nature, they are locked in unbelief Rom 11:32

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
Mercy here gives faith to believe Vs 30

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

This also proves by nature we dont have freewill to believe, being confined to unbelief
In context this is a reference to the Jews

Romans 11:26–32 (KJV 1900) — 26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: 27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. 28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes. 29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. 30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: 31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

And nothing is stated about being given faith to believe.

Because the Jews were not believing the disciples were sent to the Gentiles

Acts 13:46–47 (LEB) — 46 Both Paul and Barnabas spoke boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you, since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life! Behold, we are turning to the Gentiles! 47 For so the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have appointed you to be a light for the Gentiles, that you would bring salvation to the end of the earth.’

Romans 11:11–13 (LEB) — 11 I say then, they did not stumble so that they fell, did they? May it never be! But by their trespass, salvation has come to the Gentiles, in order to provoke them to jealousy. 12 And if their trespass means riches for the world and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fullness mean? 13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Therefore, inasmuch as I am apostle to the Gentiles, I promote my ministry,

Acts 28:25–28 (LEB) — 25 So being in disagreement with one another, they began to leave after Paul made one statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through the prophet Isaiah to your fathers, 26 saying, ‘Go to this people and say, “You will keep on hearing and will never understand, and you will keep on seeing and will never perceive. 27 For the heart of this people has become dull, and with their ears they hear with difficulty, and they have shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them.” ’ 28 Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles. They also will listen!”

Sorry, scripture shows your claims lack truth

There are three reasons one would not be able to comprehend something:

1) They lack the mental capacity to comprehend a complex argument.

2) They don’t have an understanding of the subject under discussion. Or,

3) The argument is not sufficient for the hearer to be able to comprehend what is presented to them.

1 and 2 do not apply to Tom, so….

But if Tom does have the mental capacity, and he is cognitive of the subject matter, then his disagreement is not due to not being able to comprehend what you present, but because he does understand it a finds is lacking to one degree or another.

No its the truth. Faith and works contrast is only valid when Faith is the work of God, and not of man.
Please do not tell me that faith is a gift from God. That is one of the more obnoxious things to ever be inserted into the scriptures. It is only a little bit less obnoxious that the Augustine's insertion of his Gnostic Manicheanism of Total Depravity. Faith, believing in God, is not something God does, it is something that we do.

You and some others here have really screwed up the meaning of John 6:26-29.

Faith is either the work of God in us by His Grace, or its a product of mans flesh which makes it a work of man. Now if its a work of grace, its no more works.

Faith is not a work which earns what is given.

Romans 4:1–5 (LEB) — 1 What then shall we say that Abraham, our ancestor according to the flesh, has found? 2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the scripture say? “And Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited according to grace, but according to his due. 5 But to the one who does not work, but who believes in the one who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited for righteousness,

Ephesians 2:8–10 (LEB) — 8 For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 it is not from works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are his creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we may walk in them.

Faith is either of one or two sources, God or man. Now if its of God, its a matter of pure grace and opposed to works, but if its of man, its a meritorious work and opposed to Grace. Take your pick

Why do you avoid responding to the verses quoted?

I responded with what I posted
Which was out of context and refuted elsewhere.

Current issue
