Jesus taught Provisional Atonement

Faith is the opposite of works; that is all we claim!

Eph 2:8-9 doesn’t say that it is a gift, it says that salvation is a gift; not earned by works, and thus is acquired through faith in God’s grace.

There is no such thing as merit, because God cannot be obligated to do anything by our actions.

According to God’s promise, and nothing else. We don’t deserve anything good from God, ever; much less his salvation. If it can’t be earned, then it cannot be by anything other than grace! Salvation is by grace; it is experienced only through faith.

Good. Spread that among your fellow humanist.

Tom is simply getting a little of his own medicine. Apparently it does not taste very well.

He also said 'I do not deny faith is a gift". Your up to bat
Faith is not a gift! Faith is a responsibility, and an expression of personal trust. It is something commanded of us, not given to us! Our trust is given to a plethora of things every day; it is the same trust that I use every day with my wife and son, my co-workers, other drivers on the road, etc, etc.

As has been repeatedly stated, we are condemned because we don’t believe, not because we are not given belief/faith!

Doug

This is deliberately misleading… What Tom actually said was “Nowhere in the bible is saving faith said to be a gift
your third lie was that I deny"you are saved by grace"

Character and truth are inseparable!

Doug
That is not the question, the reception of something is a human action. It is a choice to entrust ourselves to the care of others. That is not something God gives, it is something he receives from us!

Doug
It is the question even if you dont like it. What is the difference between you or your unbelieving neighbor? Your choice correct?

And yet belief is granted or given by God.

Tom denies he wrote "I deny you are saved by grace". See post # 91
Still practicing deception i see

here is podt 91

Correction to previous post

Salvation is the gift, not saving faith

But when will you learn

Romans 6:23 (LEB) — 23 For the compensation due sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Nowhere in the bible is saving faith said to be a gift

your third lie was that

I deny"you are saved by grace"
Readers note the deception practiced by this poster

All you are doing is showing the readers how you practice deception

stripping my words from their context

your third lie was that I deny"you are saved by grace"

And yet belief is granted or given by God.
Belief is allowed to happen by God; belief is accepted by God as righteousness. Phil 1:29 says God has granted us “to believe”, πιστεύειν, a verb. God does not give belief; he gives us the chance to exercise our belief- to do something, not get something.

Our belief does not, cannot obligate God to accept us; but God has obligated himself by his promise to accept our belief as righteousness.

No Word "allowed" in said text. Philippians 1:29

The word also means to give such as I grant permission.

Faith is also given by God 2 Peter 1:1
