Is anyone else a Seer?

You're a man. I dare you to answer these questions.

What does 1 John 1:8 mean

What does 1 John 3:9 mean

Is Romans 7:14-25 about born again Christians or only those under the law?

When the disciples were taking on water in a boat that was in the middle of a storm, and Jesus was asleep in the bow of the boat what should the disciples have done if they actually had faith that Jesus said they didn't have.

1. First off, you are disobeying Paul in Galatians 5:25-26 where he says: "If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. Let us NOT BECOME BOASTFUL, CHALLENGING ONE ANOTHER, envying one another."

When you DARE me to answer those questions, you are CHALLENGING ME, as if to say, "Okay, you think you know more about the Scripture than I do? Let's find out. Go ahead, let's see what you've got."

So you are NOT walking in the Spirit, as you are challenging me. You are once again, being boastful and proud.

However, if God is willing, I will give you my understanding of those verses.

I don't claim that my answers are perfectly right, but they are my current understanding of those verses.

1 John 1:8 - "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Every book of the Bible is directed towards people of faith, believers. So 1 John is no exception. God is speaking through the Holy Spirit through John to us - Christians, Christians during his lifetime and throughout the ages. However, he may not have known how widespread the influence of his words would be. John testifies that they (probably referring to the apostles) have seen, heard and even touched Jesus, who "was from the beginning". He knows that Jesus Himself was eternal life and was with the Father, but then He was shown to them. He invites us to have fellowship with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ, as they already had.

1 John 3:9 "No one who is born of God PRACTICES sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot (PRACTICE) sin, because he is born of God."

Then he tells us that Jesus told them that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. He goes on to say that if we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.

But if we are walking in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

Did you catch that? It is possible to walk in the Light, and have fellowship with one another, and yet still have need of the blood of Jesus cleansing us from all sin. So walking in the Light cannot mean that we never sin - it means that as a rule, as a practice, we generally do not sin, but it is inevitable that, on occasion, we do sin. If it was possible to reach a point where we will never sin the rest of our lives, then the Holy Spirit would not have directed John to add the phrase - and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. All believers have had their previous sins cleansed by the blood of Jesus, when we were saved, when we were born again, but nowhere in the Bible do we read that when we get saved, our FUTURE sins are also cleansed (in advance). For years, I mistakenly thought that all my sins, PAST, PRESENT, and FUTURE were ALL forgiven, when I was saved. If that were true, then why would Jesus teach us to pray: "And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors."? So even though we are saved, any current or future sins must be confessed and also cleansed by His blood - 1John 1:9

1 JOHN 1:8 However, "If we say that we have no (current or future) sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Why did Jesus tell Peter to forgive a repentant brother up to 70 X 7 times, or 490 times - and that brother's past sins were already forgiven, when he was saved. Because Jesus knew that each of us will sin - all the way until He returns. Not because we want to, but because "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Look at 1 John 2:1 "My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may NOT sin. And (yet) if anyone (does) sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; ... "

The Bible likens our relationship with Jesus with marriage. He is the bridegroom, we are the bride. Is it possible that a husband and wife could reach a point where they will never offend each other, say a mean word to each other, or hurt each other, or argue with each other? In a make believe world, yes. But in the real world - NO. The same is true with Jesus. And we know that our "husband" Jesus cannot and will never sin, so if there is any sin between us and Him - it is OUR sin.

2. 1 John 3:9 "No one who is born of God PRACTICES sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot (PRACTICE) sin, because he is born of God."

The KJV may not have the word "practices" in it, but that's what the verse means. We know that is true from 1 John 1:9-10 and 1 John 2:1. Even those who are walking in the Light, or in the Spirit, will sin from time to time - right up until the 2nd Coming.

And that is the KEY. As we mature, we should sin less and less, but we will never reach a point where we don't sin anymore, as much as we would like that to happen.

I will write another post on the last two verses/scripture.

3. Romans 7:14-25 - I believe Paul is giving us the actual reality of what each of us as believers face each day. We don't want to sin, but we nonetheless, find ourselves doing the very thing we don't want to do. Why? Because of "sin which dwells in me" Verse 20-21 "I find the principle that evil is present in me, the one who wants to do good." Verse 25 says: So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin."

But, Romans 8:1-2, as we walk in the Spirit, we are free from the law of sin and death. If we sin, we confess, receive His forgiveness, and move on.

4. The disciples were in a great storm on the Sea of Galilee. Matthew 8:23-27 Jesus was asleep. They woke Him up. "Save us Lord; we are perishing!" He said, "Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?'
What should the disciples have done, if they actually had faith?
I know this is easier said than done, but they should have kept their hearts from being fearful. They should have realized that, with Jesus right there, everything was going to be alright, even though they didn't know the outcome.
Jesus did NOT say, "Why didn't you rebuke the wind and the sea in My name?" He simply asked, "Why are you afraid?"

So far I see that you know the modern interpretation that the church at large believes. Plus you ask some good questions about 1 John 1:7, actually the same question I asked God about and got my answer. His answer brings a big difference and if you keep reading 1 John to the end you may find the key to the next question you should ask.

Your answer to Number 3 is overlooking a couple key verses that puts 14-25 in context. Just giving you a hint without actually "teaching a man."

But you get a gold star for Number 4 or maybe a silver star seeing as you didn't say what exactly they were to DO to stop the storm and waves, though right on what not to do.

Dwight, because the Holy Spirit did not reveal the key verses clearly written to you, I'm afraid we will never see eye to eye on His meaning to His Word. You have the natural man's interpretation according to 1 Corinthians 2:14 not the Spirit's 1 Corinthians 2:9-16. And because you do not want to know what He revealed to me, it appears we have nothing more to discuss. That goes for your own provoking at me you also seem to be blind to.

They did what they should have done - they went to Jesus, the ONLY ONE who could stop the storm and the waves, since He was the Creator of the wind and the sea. But they went in a spirit of fear, not a spirit of faith, so Jesus gently rebukes them.

I guess the church at large, including myself, will never know the true meaning of these verses, unless you are willing to divulge the secret revelation that you have. I assume that you believe that there are others - a precious few - who have been blessed to know what you know.
How can we , the church at large, go on living our Christian walk, without knowing what you know? God forbid that we go to our deathbed without those precious few revealing to us what they know. God must highly favor those precious few above the rest of us, since He has not chosen to give us what He gave them.

I'll give you a hint. Jesus said He did nothing He didn't first see the Father doing in heaven. So what was Jesus doing? They should have done the same. That would have been true faith. If they had done what Jesus was doing, the storm would have stopped immediately in answer to supernatural faith.

I was in a Bible study hosted by my missionary friend who was 90 years old. Her son-in-law was leading the study. I shared what I believe with them and they just couldn't understand. The last time I was there the son-in-law got very mad at me because I brought up the truth one too many times and he berated me for about 5 min. I didn't say one word to him in reply as I won't engage. They just ended the Bible study for the night. My friend told me later that she doesn't understand what I believe either but she gets pamphlets from a father and son ministry team out of Conroe, Texas called Calvary Outreach Church and she doesn't understand what they believe either but they teach the same thing I do! I was shocked. I had never run across anyone on the radio or TV that teaches anywhere near what God had taught me. Today's denominations teach human reasonings mostly doctrines of man, and sometimes even doctrines of demons (hyper Calvinism). I borrowed one of the pamphlets and read it and sure enough their testimony is that God told them not to teach anything that He had not directly taught them - the same as He told me. Also I already knew everything this pamphlet taught them. I am now in contact with them and signed up to receive their pamphlets.

There isn't anyone on the forums that believes me even though it is 100% Scriptural, unlike just human reasonings.

I believe you. I have never studied it out but now may be the time to dig deeper into it. It's been years since I have heard any of Pastor Jacks teaching. But I remember them as being very good.

In 2000 God spoke to me and said He was giving me the office of teacher. If you really want me to share with you what I now know I would be happy to teach you. If not, maybe someone else would like to know and will ask...politely.

When did you go to Pastor Jack's church? I was a member from 76 to about 90, and then when I moved to Arizona I went back on Memorial Day weekend for their Spirit-filled Living Conference. Do you remember Naomi Beard who played the piano. She came back from NY for the conference as a speaker and is the one who gave me a prophetic word and for the next 25 years it has all come to pass. I remember driving back to Arizona and played the tape with the prophetic word on it and couldn't figure out how any of it (it was long) could come true. When I got home the first line started coming to pass immediately!

I only went there a few times with my wife as guests of her sister. That was '78. I grew up in the Valley and moved out to the Palm Springs area in '80.

Church on The Way, been there many times on and off. I was never a member.
