william tyndale was burnt at the stake for printing the Bible
Behold the neo-nascent Troll. Generally found under bridges they have become more common online.I didn’t get my bible from James White.
Wow...this escalated quickly. When you're being burnt to the steak a big fan is the last thing you need
Are we having fun yet?Wow...this escalated quickly.

Great little discussion by James White. Apparently it's a series.
I can dig it. On fire for the Lord. Makes me think of those sermons about going back to our first love. You know how you can be saved for a while and kind of take it for granted and that fire kind of dies down?Tyndale was already on fire for the Lord.... The stake was only a next phase for him.
William Tyndale died with God's dying grace...
...... and...
Might have been greeted in Heaven by Stephen to be his tour guide.
grace and peace ...............
The Apostle Paul had a little bit to say about that. Some of you people treat this like its a sport and you are rooting for your favorite team...
I don't get it. This should be your life, not the sports channel.
God gave us sports for sports. God gave His Word for our life.
grace and peace...............
The Apostle Paul had a little bit to say about that.
1 Corinthians 9:24-26
24. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
25. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
26. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air.
27. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
Awesome post, I can tell you really put some time and some thought in it.We are to run in the filling of the Spirit in Truth we have learned.
Not on our emotions .... without having the truth understood, but only touched upon..
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
We are not to run on emotions staying on the outskirts of truth.. without learning the Truth in detail -so we will be able to know and run and not be weary as the Spirit quickens us.
Emotion driven believers get emotional hangovers after the cheering stops... Still being in need of understanding of the Word they failed to secure while being wrapped up in their experience, rather than in knowledge. Knowledge that we must learn to discipline ourselves to have.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." 2 Peter 3:18
Too many preachers talk about truth without being able to teach the truth as it needs to be understood. Needing to be understood to build one up in the Lord.
Instead, they preach and work everyone up in their emotions. Giving the hearers a group "emotional experience" but learn very little as they need to have. Needed for times when they are alone and facing pressures on their own that need to be overcome by having the Spirit recall ones own knowledge of the Truth...
It requires taking up ones own cross to learn sound doctrine. A denial of self is required.
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." Matthew 16:24-25
Many will refuse to take up their own cross and will seek to have an emotional experience in a church, rather than a classroom for God's Word in church as it was designed for. They will become bored with sound teaching and go seeking after some preachers who know how to say what they would rather hear.
For the time is coming when people will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves a great number of teachers to suit their own passions." 2 Timothy 4:3
That's what I meant by, "rooting for their own team." Whatever is accepted by what group whom they approve of, is all that matters.
They will root for whatever false doctrine they have bonded with others around, and will refuse correction when God brings them
their way. And, we all need corrections if we are ever to mature in Christ. For, "His ways are not our ways."
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,”declares the Lord." Isaiah 55:8Preachers that gear themselves to teach what they sense certain believers want to hear, will be promoting the thoughts and ways
of a target audience to make them feel comfortable in their emotions, while presenting a Jesus they would like to hear about, rather
than sound doctrine telling them His ways that the believer needs to learn to repent (take up his cross) transform into God's thinking
by grace...
So be it.
grace and peace! ....................
I have to agree running on your emotions will mess you up every time.Emotion driven believers get emotional hangovers after the cheering stops... Still being in need of understanding of the Word they failed to secure while being wrapped up in their experience, rather than in knowledge. Knowledge that we must learn to discipline ourselves to have.
It's particularly cool how Tyndale prayed for the king's eyes to be opened as last statement.
And eventually the Bible was released in every church and a new translation commissioned.
Paul said "follow me as I follow Christ," there's nothing wrong with being inspired by people.
